As a man unless he's very short he shouldn't go lower then 2000 calories. He needs to do more cardio or just move more instead of such few calories, hes gonna lose alot of muscle like this. there are many studies on how eating too little calories affects your health, behavior and mood. changing your body is not about loosing weight fast, its about learning how to listen to your hunger cues and choosing balanced meals. ESPECIALLY as a man, please don't restrict yourself to 1200 cals a day. I've worked with several nutritionists and health experts in mental health clinics and they would be absolutely shocked by this. a deficit of 300- 500 cals is absolutely enough to loose extra weight over time. stay safe.

The reasons people regain weight after drastic diets are much simpler: people tend to overeat after undereating. Studies have been done on that, most people end up eating way more calories than before they started being on a diet. Still, 800-900 calories is insane, I wouldn't even recommend that to a slightly chubby midget.

Melted the fat off and I was able to take advantage of beginning gains to build muscle for 2 months. Got stronger and lost 40lbs of fat. That was done last September-November. Yep, adding fattier foods will help a lot with keeping one sated for much longer while reducing cravings. Fat in food =/= Fat on your body, that's the most clever trick the food industry has imployed to fool people into thinking that Fatty foods will make me Fat, cause people conciously and unconciously relate fat in food to fat on your belly, when in reality fat in food is the best fuel you can use, while carbs literally kill you. (Note* That is, if you're an average human being who has a huge carb heavy diet and are sedentary, I'm not talking about body builders who consume ludicrous amounts of carbs and are in the best shape they'll ever be, these two people are worlds apart.)

This is about an average day of eating for me. Somedays are obviously more nutritionally dense than others. The key to being comfortable at this calorie intake is lots of water and fiber. 😊

I implore most people; Don’t eat this few calories. A caloric intake this low will be very hard on you, will likely lead to a loss in muscle as well as fat (muscle burns fat and makes you look leaner at healthier body fat percentages). Go calculate your theoretical maintenance calories and try eating that for a week while tracking your calories in a note book or my fitness pal. Also, weight yourself after you wake up every day at the same time and make a note each day of the weight. Do this for two weeks. If you see that you gain weight on this many calories, you have three options. First; you can eat less calories, and about 500 less calories a day will burn a pound of body fat per week, however this is pretty hard for most people to do, so there is nothing wrong with only cutting 250 calories out and burning half a pound. Option 2 is that you eat the same but burn 250-500 extra calories a day. I suggest doing moderate intensity steady state cardio. Get on the elliptical and crank the resistance to what you can manage and push at a good clip. Other forms of cardio are fine as well, choose whatever is fun for you. Finally there is what I consider the best option which is to burn 250 calories and eat 250 calories less that way you get the best of both worlds and don’t have to murder yourself on a diet. Set realistic goals and enjoy the journey without ol obsessing over the destination.

If you and I were 177cm, we would not have the exact same skeleton/frame just with longer arms and legs, our whole frames would be larger, everything would be wider, feet and hands would be larger etc. The BMI scale does not take that into account. Same is true for my very tall female friends who are 5’11-6’0. Use TDEE calculator to see the amount of calories you can eat and still lose decent amounts of weight, assuming you haven’t already. It’s not advised for a grown adult to eat less than 1500.

Counting calories is painful. Just drink lots of water and eat mostly plant based foods within a small window, like 8 hours of the day.. Replace sugar with monk fruit sweetener to avoid an insulin spike, and ease up on red meat and bread consumption. The weight will come off fast!

Do not ever go on a 1200 calorie diet. You will wreck your hormones and get adrenal fatigue which leads to loads of other diseases and issues… eat enough but make healthier choices and stay active. Then you won’t just be skinny - you will actually be HEALTHY and safe.

For someone who diets for years and tried many things and actually looks forward to how this calories are calculate, suddnely I see hundreds of people here falling into miths and not considering the other person metabolic characteristics. So sad that in the internet you can say and be wtv you want, but at the end of the day its real life that matters, so are results. I got the purpose of the video and It was not to show how someone should eat but instead, how someone on 1200kcal can eat. As much I dont agree with too much low calorie diet, I dont know how tall he is, how much he weights, if he has any pathology, what is his TDEE, I know nothing. So instead of me judging his choice of eating 1200kcal a day, I can judgethe content of the video and that is "WHAT A 1200KCAL LOOKS LIKE", he is not saying that you should do it or if its even healthy or not. If you dont like it, go away. Dont come to the comments and act like you have a degree on nutritian or are a dietitian or even if you ever read a scientific evidence article about diet. Jesus. You can hate all you want, but learn something for once and be nice to one another. Nice Video Shannon. I personally would have choosen differents foods that I feel more fullfilling, but I got the idea!

I agree with you! There are many people that judge. Learn, be open minded and do what you body can handle! Besides there are lean meats that are very low in calories and peas are extremely low in calories.. To some people yes 1200 cal. Is low but the recommended lowest calories you can go is 1200 calories.🤓🌻💛

Yeah but your metabolism is partly within your control. If you eat a high protein diet and lift heavy weights in the gym 4-5 days a week then you can drive your maintenance calories well above 2k easily.

To the person who released this video. It would be very much appreciated if you could address this comment as to how consuming 1200 calories a day is a sustainable way for the majority of humans to live ? Iv seen plenty of sparky comments from you without addressing the comments who are questioning this nonsense. I shall wait patiently.
