Whale Watching Spectacle in Oahu, Hawaii
We took an early morning drive from Honolulu to the Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor in order to spend the sunrise with the humpback whales in Hawaii. Hiring a small boat charter allowed us to travel with our friends Rhonda and Merilyn and have the experience to ourselves. We had spectacular photo opportunities, but even more importantly, the whales we were surrounded by were playful and put on a spectacular show. We had a mother and her calf frolicking and playing with tail slaps. What an experience!

Those waters are so full of whales. We're heading to Alaska this summer and we're hoping to see the same ones we saw in Hawaii. What a journey they make.
That was amazing. You could see those spouts and as the video went on it was easier to see them and their tails. Also, so cool you saw that rainbow too.

We really struggled with this one. It was tempting to only put in the veery best footage, but whale watching is about seeing glimpses, so we chose to make it a bit longer and include all of it. But the finale of the tail slapping was out of this world!
