I have a photograph of my grandfather who died in 97 before I was born having just emerged from a scout onboard HMS Hecla. He served in the Royal Navy from 1952 to 1976. Seeing this video instantly conjures up that photograph, thank you for posting!
I miss the howl of the Rolls Royce Nimbus on startup! They were great to fly in with loads of character and when you fly low in these beauties they move beautifully!
Thanks Rita. I spent my first 3 years in the Air Force (in Canada) as part of a Tactical Helicopter Squadron (Kiowa and Twin Huey). So lots of memories. Wow, is there ever a lot of blade droop during start up on those things.
Flying a helicopter is as easy as balancing a pumpkin on a pea, 😂😂😂. Thanks Rita 👏👏👏 👋👋👋
Nice film of two cracking little helicopters. Ever seen the gunsight on a Scout. The Army Aviation museum is a great visit.
Each time I see Westland Scout helicopters I think of them taking off in the film Who Dare’s Wins . I off to watch the film again, so bad that it is good !
Wind noise my dear, wind noise.
God, those things are scary.
Nice job Rita. Love the sound of aircraft jet engines spooling up to power.
I actually had a close encounter with a Chinook yesterday. It was flying south along the beach between Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida. I don't see them very often. On Monday, I saw 2 CH 53's in formation heading to NAS Jacksonville. I see them less often than Chinooks. I see SH-60 Seahawks all day. Thanks for the video.

Lucky here see RAF chinooks often, RM & RN Merlin and Wildcat daily, used to see Seaking, Commando and Lynx daily when in service, occasional Gazelle, wasps and Scout, Puma over Dartmoor. Not seen Apache yet here but they probably RV further up the channel

Think the most impressive was seeing a Super Sea Stallion take of from being on display on the Hoe that’s a big beast

@@darrenjones3681 When I first came to this area in 1994, I would see Apaches almost daily. Here in Jacksonville, Florida there is a small airport called Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport. The road on the west side of the airport is named St. Johns Bluff Road. You could drive along the road and see at least a dozen Apaches lined up near the fence. They haven't been there in years and I don't know where they went. P-8 Neptunes and a few remaining P3 Orions are based here. I see a few Hornets now and then. The local Air National Guard flies the F-15. Very, very occasionally I will see something delta winged in the sky, but I can't see them closely enough to tell if they are Eurofigthers, Typhoons, or Mirages. I don't know modern NATO aircraft well at all.
A nice ending to the Harborough at war show in the UK. Hope you enjoy it! :D harboroughatwar.co.uk/

I saw a Huey few over me, you header it long before you saw it.
Aww! Their cute little legs dangle like a wasp
Thanks, for sharing 😁
