Excellent very useful

I've had this seatbox myself for about 6 months now, and it's a great box. It's light weight, comfortable and has enough space for all my pole fishing gear, and for under £150 I can't fault it. I've added a preston innovations side tray, a pole sock arm and even a brolly arm. Now when I bought it from gooutdoors I had to buy the seatbox alone that come without the footplate because the one with the footplate was out of stock. And thinking It wouldn't be to hard to find a after market westlake footplate I didn't hesitate. But since then I've searched everywhere for a westlake footplate and had no look at all. I've even tried a preston, maver, matrix footplate and each one is a different width that doesn't fit the westlake box leg width. Does anyone know where I could buy a after marker westlake footplate? or even buy one that would fit it?

Hi . After looking online for you I too can't seem to find the footplate separate anywhere. All I can suggest is contacting either go outdoors or millets as the both sell all the Westlake fishing products and see if they can get one for you. Hope they can help.

hi i was going to buy this product but if you buy from go outdoors box and footplate only it doesnt come with the extending legs on the footplate or so ive been told by them , my store only has the box which doesnt have extending legs that ive seen so im having to go by pictures. did you only buy the box and footplate to get the extending legs?

I bought the box and footplate only . Then later on bout the spray bar and side tray. The legs did come with the extensions and I didn't specify for them. Either it comes with them as standard or I was very lucky. Never knew it could come without those legs. Sorry if this doesn't help.

Hi. Basically the plate folds up when being carried or stored. Folds down and locks into place with two thumb screws for use. Fully adjustable and if you don't want to take it with you it can be taken off all together.

Just a quick tip the spirit level leg's need to be in the middle, and the adjustable legs at the back then you will be able to level your box correctly 👍

@@paulwilson8356 Wrong. All the legs are adjustable and the front footplate legs are extendable below the plate to allow for a sloping bank or to to place in water. The 2nd pair of legs for the front of the box have the thread at the top for pole socks etc. The 3rd pair (rear) have the spirit levels. In theory, it doesn't matter which of the 4 seat box legs have the level, all they show is if the legs are vertical, but you need the seatbox frame to be horizontal. You can slide the seatbox up/down a leg by 50mm and due to the slack in the clamp, it wont change the leg angle. Your better off with a 99p level on the frame.

Good comprehensive review. Do you know if it’s possible to remove the deep base and attach the tray and drawer to the frame to use as a canal stool?

The author gave the wrong answer. You can add/delete trays as you wish except for the top slide drawer & seat that are combined and must go on the top. Your recent review demonstrates this.

just bought one very good for the price

Does anyone know if you can buy the footplate for this? I bought just the seat but now want a footplate for it. Can’t find it anywhere!

You used to be able to buy it separate. Either contact go outdoors or another supplier. I think millets and black both sell them too. They may be able to help if it's not listed as an item

@@OitsJoe No you can’t buy the footplate on its own. Luckily I knew someone who was buying the same seatbox so I told them to buy the one with the plate and I give them the extra for it

do you think it will take 20 stone sat on it lol looks a good box just wonder if it will take me .

Well I couldn't say definitively but I'm 15stone and it doesn't budge or slip when I'm on it. It's been well used this year and not a single problem. I'd recommend trying one in store first to make sure it's comfortable . Hope this helps.

It is well made its a pity westlake dont make extra add-on compartments for the box & and their feeder tray with hood for the box is really well made.

I was wondering if anyone could help, I have just received my seatbox with footplate, and I have put everything together and it all seems fine. When I fold up the footplate and tighten it, it just seems to slowly fall back down again? Does anyone else have this problem? It is as tight as I can get it and still falls down.

Yes have the same issue. It's just a slight design issue. I used a bungee clip to hold it in place during transit.

Nice seat box, easy, compact and the weight is not to heavy. Perfect for the every day angler. I love the H-Frame design. I see that the clamp system is the same like from Matrix. But i don't care...everthing comes from china and there put there brands on... they change only few things but ans and all its the same. :-D Great product for less money!

No complaints in the comfort factor and you can easily adjust height of footplate or box to get your desired seating position cushion is decent. But you could always make it better .

Should be fine . It can be heavy when fully loaded bit you can take compartments off if you don't want to carry it all at the same time.

How the heavy?

Not overly unless fully laden with gear. I can't give exact weight but it's fairly comfortable to carry at short distances.
