We have a Kepler one. You are correct about the shower inside. It does work but you are left with a wet shower curtain. We do use the shower but usually abroad while travelling. We use a hooped tube that just hangs off the rear tailgate with environmental friendly shampoo. Very quick and easy. The best thing about this type of van is that you can use it as one of your normal daily vehicles and it has a bog. So you don't need to park near any facilities. The seat covers are not leather and do wipe down. They are for from perfect, but we are very happy with our one. The Kepler is better, but costs a lot more and is now only available in left hand drive. We do like your videos and it did help us make a decision.

We love our Kepler One! We do use the shower / curtain. The difficulty is drying the curtain afterwards if the weather is damp. Much easier to shower outside if we're alone 😉. The Westfalia is a great conversion IMHO.

thats a cool camper van I have ever seen, wow it has 2 doors, I always wanted one of these type of campervans.

We have a Kepler One and used the shower when touring Scotland for a week last year. As Mike Green said the issue is what to do with the curtain afterwards if you need to dry it in the van. The format of the Kepler One is still the best for us though and it was your review of it back in 2019 that helped. Love the video reviews you do.

Bye! I would like to buy this van for the possibility of the internal shower, I know that outside is very melgio, but sometimes, when it is cold and you go skiing, it is essential to do it inside. Is it comparable to the internal shower of the larger vans on the ducato? the tent problem is the only problem and you have it even on bigger vans I think. thank you

Hi guys, its a bit of a higgeldy-piggledy layout and I was thinking exactly the same about the shower tray. We use our Nugget shower outside and mainly to wash off legs and feet. I guess if the weather is bad and you’re absolutely desperate for a shower and have lots of time to protect everything and clean up, then it might be a benefit 😌. That gas box would niggle us for sure, and also not being able to either sit easily or stand up at the kitchen unless the pop top is up; seems awkward to me. The Nugget wins hand down (yes we are biased!) in layout and it also has 5 belted seats. Thanks for the look around!

That gas locker is a heck of an intrusion I think a smaller table would be easier to live with too. The rest of it was a pretty strong design though.

Great review! Really prefer the Cali..... although we would like hot water and a freezer perhaps. The compromises in the Kelsey just seem too great to me.

Nice review, thanks. All seems a little bit 'bitty' for me, like the gas storage idea, feels almost like an after thought. Not for me, but I'm sure it'll suit some.

Take a look at the Landseer Leisure conversion for the Ford. Far superior in my opinion and tonnes more storage/options to move the seats forward to access children easier/places to store awnings etc when on the road. I’d love to see you guys review one of those because it is a contender for an alternative to the VW for a similar price

do the walls of this campervan have insulation or do they only have a bare sheet ? like in Vw California

Late to watch....... I hope your next video is your van. Can't wait to see it. My cali beach is in being repaired a motorbike shot across our side of the road. Thankfully all involved were alright but my poor van. 😢 We were suppose to be away in it now.... sooo gutted. Loved little ones imput. ❤ Our work vans are Ford so have driven both, still prefer the build quality and drive of VW. Xc

Is there seating for 4 or 5 with seatbelts?

I thought this was going to be an improvement on the Nugget, which we looked at but ruled out due to the lack of storage. I think this van has solved some of the storage problems but the bed isn’t as good as the Nugget and that gas locker would really annoy me! My Wellhouse Ford Misano still gets my vote. Than as always for an interesting video.

Would it not have been a better solution to mount the gas box in the bottom cupboard near the tail gate. This would allow the gas box to be portable and allow storage if required. As for white leather upholstery in a camper the colour is totally impractical. I think a folding table top, like the type used mainly on boats might work better. Dose the rear bench seat have to be so high, lowering it a inch or two would give you the extra head height. It’s a great camper van.

probably the interior style of the Kelsey is more modern and rounded than the Capland. The differences that I notice are: 1) Capland has more space to stow, such as the 2 drawers under the dinette 2) the Capland dinette bed is more difficult but does not require a mattress to be stowed behind which consumes space 3) the Capland face to face dinette is not bad that Kelsey has the gas compartment problem 4) the shower problem is common but as an emergency it works well 5) maybe the Capland is a bit more vintage but I appreciate the stowage in my opinion better.

Would like to see you do a review on the 40k ish Ford Transit custom Devon Firefly hightop. It best suited to people with max hight 5ft 9 inches, so not for you, but similar van with privacy door for the toilet.

I don’t know why Devon motorhomes (ironically not converted in Devon) are not that often reviewed neither are Wildax or Vantage or Murvi all established home grown conversions,

Where can you buy these vans

New Kelsey owner here and while I agree with some of the minor gripes regarding this van, it has a few more serious faults and bad designs. Also new to camper vans in general but my opinion has now changed to Westfalia, the overall quality of fitting is very poor, some good ideas but I suppose it’s just a mass, production line, knock ‘em out kinda company and not a quality controlled one like I originally thought.

Seems all a bit busy and like a jigsaw. Shower next to the control units isn’t a great idea either. Sometimes less is more

For that money you might as well buy an Adria twin sport

we went to look at one of these, all looks good on your video however didn't show how you get into pop top bed, as we found out its virtually impossible, very cramped camper van don't waste your money

Seems like a bunch of compromises. The lounge/second bed is a mess. In order to get a toilet and 2 sliding doors, everything else suffers. Not good design. The gas could have been placed in the rear rather than in that awkward spot. The table is way too big, in order to allow it to be the base for the bed. The only good thing is the storage.

I love your videos, and I do like the Westfalias… was very close to getting a Kepler Five but went for a bog-standard California Coast. Always been a fan of the Ford layout with the kitchen in the back, however my OCD gets triggered REALLY hard with the lines in the door being at a really crooked angle with the table. That looks just… wrong.

Pas terrible, le Capland est mieux.

Anything this size is overpriced. None more than the california ocean. There's one on the forum for £90,000 really!!! Great video guys. Trying to view a Sven hedin Hopefully will be at the NEC next month

I wonder if it's because of the base vehicle and pop top costs? At least in the US market, those two items alone would cost like 80% of this van's price if you bought it yourself and had one installed. I agree they're expensive, regardless.
