West Point Class of 2025 Completes 12.9 Mile "March Back" from Cadet Basic Training

Nearly 1,300 members of the West Point Class of 2025 completes the 12.9 Mile "March Back" from Cadet Basic Training thru the West Point golf course heading to the Superintendent’s House adjacent to the main campus buildings.
The Cadet Spirit Band performs their football game favorites to recognize and encourage the New Cadets who will formally join the Corps of Cadets with the Acceptance parade on Saturday morning.
Several hundred West Point alumni joined in the march include nearly 100 members of the Class of 1975 which provide a special support role for the Class of 2025.

Thank you so much for this video!! My 17-year old son, who is in this video, is also an Eagle Scout as is my older son and they both did Philmont. For those who compared this to Boy Scouts, nothing you experienced in scouts was even remotely close to this experience in the USMA. And to the person who said scouts do better formations, these 1000+ cadets clearly are not in formation! They do get in formation closer to West Point and it is very impressive. Scouts do not hike in any formation and for scout ceremonies the “formations,” if you can even call them that, are small. These cadets have had an intense 6 weeks of cadet basic training culminating in this march and should be immensely proud of themselves!

The scouts outdoorsman pentagon badge exceeds any of our military rigors such as Seals. I am army and I daily demand the usma curriculum be updated. We do not need officers with an Econ degree sitting in Detroit Corp of Engr’s office. We need leaders who know history, tactics, strategy etc. Current will give us more defeats 25 years from now. Desert Storm our only win? Cottonbalers.

We stayed in the field for a week or so and did drills…we lost so much sleep and weight that one week and we fucking drained! And then marched back in the middle of the night 12 miles mostly on sand sometimes rocky surfaces in the dark while trying to keep the formation. But this right here in a golf course with the band welcoming them?! Must be nice lol but good job

@@JammyDodger45 thank you for taking this subject seriously and providing additional information. This process (the relation Parents -children-educational system-selection) is capricious, but ultimately duplicable. t begins with "insider trading" in other words , Parents must have , very early, the rules of the game, and that as soon as the child is 4 or 5 years old (the same goes for dentists, doctors, pilots, etc.). my little criticism is about the "insider trading" This process is condemned on the stock exchange and is not a crime in the field of integration into good educational channels. but the dishonesty is the same: using inside information, to gain profit. when I see a" selected ", a "smart" a "malicious" a calculator "... at 90% son or daughter of a completely malignant, malicious, calculating familie, I telle to myself that , it is not a good sign to have an "elite" selected on this kind of criteria...

@@fern8580 - I've only knowingly worked with 2 West Pointers (I say knowingly slightly tongue in cheek because if they went there then they tell you within 15s of meeting you) one came through the ranks and was outstanding the other was 'promoted and sponsored' by his church and his application was endorsed by a well known Republican Representative with a huge church following. One of them was a hugely well liked and respected warrior ... the other wasn't. The system is as corrupt as every other aspect of American 'high society' (pick any well known political family for evidence of this) but that doesn't mean Service families are complicit by wanting their offspring to do well and assisting them in that endeavour.
