Thanks for this. My nephew is in the class of 2025. My mom grew up at Westpoint and her Dad was T.M. - the winning est coach in Westpoint history.

@@caseykrebs4774 - Unfortunately no, but it felt good to be there to say bye on R-day and to return to see them all to be administered the oath. We got a letter from him three days ago and it made our day....our week! Best wishes to your friend and all of the Class of 2025!

The level of discipline instilled is amazing. No wonder the US armed forces is miles apart. I cannot help but giggle at the comparison with Russians.

It seems they can’t wait to show potential enemies everything. Rule of thumb- If you can’t see something from the enemies’ sites, better not to show it.

I am terrified of the new Oath! It does not say DEFEND The Constitution, as well, and bear true allegiance to The National Government. There's something sinister going on in this. It does NOT bode well for the future of our country, that's for sure. Mine was "I will support and defend The Constitution of The United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic and that I shall bear true faith and allegiance to the same." This new one opens a lot of doors that should never be opened. If you are too obtuse to get the nuance of this, spare me your sophomoric and jejune responses.

Time to shut down all the military academies. They produce only about 20% of the new officers, far more expensively than ROTC/OCS. Also, ROTC/OCS officers are far more well-rounded than academy graduates, from personal experience.
