I worked at Wendy’s in high school 2002-2004. I remember watching videos like these, although I think ours were more 1990s Hanging With Mr. Cooper style. You don’t realize how much that stuff sticks with you but to this day I still blossom a potato the way I learned at Wendy’s, still find myself pressing burgers on the grill like we learned back in the day. It’s funny to think how we made fun of that stuff back then but it really does stick with you. I remember being on the grill and the reminder would go off on the timer and you’d call out “stir (chili) drain (pickles) sanitize (the sand which prep board) flip (tomatoes) flop (can’t remember anymore what that one was) fluff (bacon)”….20 years ago and you still remember that stuff.

Dave Thomas WAS wendys. From entry level employee to the CEO
@Tornado1994
7 ай бұрын
And then his Daughter, Wendy herself took over in 2002 after he passed away. She kept Wendys a Great Company throughout in 2000s, and even brought her Xennial Son on board. But then due to the Recession of 2008, P&G decided to sell Wendys to ConAgra Foods, and ConAgra decided in 2010 that the Thomas family shouldn't be running the company, so they fired her in 2010. And its been going downhill since then.

Its Wendys my man. These are not quality meats...they are meant for fast cooking. I rarely have fast food like this cause Im always hungry after...theyre so thin all these fast food meats. So then I found out its cheaper to buy from my "organic" butcher. I get 8oz burger patties for example, real beef for $8 a 4 pack...

Can't help but smile a little. They took a boring task and made it fun and .... now I know how to cook Wendy's old "fayshin" burgers! #winning

well I know for a fact that after Dave passed away, they slowly started changing all his ideas for a more Mcdonald and BK style from getting rid of their (I don't know how they did it) really quick single line ordering like they do in drive through they got rid of the salad bar, the burgers did get smaller (no longer smashed) and now the meat is a quarter pound before it gets cooked not after.

Why the fuck would people get “clean cut” to get paid basically nothing to work at a fuckin Wendy’s ? Teenagers make money on the internet now so I don’t want to hear it’s a kids job. This job is for desperate people at the end of their rope and you should expect low quality.
Wild that they have a dedicated wall mounted tv with built in VHS in the 80s. Wendy's was ahead of its time, and only used 100% pure ground beef pressed into squares; so the meat hangs off the side.
This guy turned on the TV and realized he took one too many caps before coming into work.

Wow, I never see black and white people work at Wendy's anymore. All I've ever seen is Mexicans. The 80s and 90s where definitely a different time I personally miss. I'm sure these employees where never paid to be on the cheesy training video.
as much as seeing Dave in this resolution sends me back to my youth- I was rocketed back in time when I saw that salad bar in the background. Wendy's was all about that salad bar.

Dave Thomas woke up in a cold sweat, one evening in 1969, two words reverberating through his mind; grill skills.
I love hearing about the old-fayshioned bidness. RIP Dave Thomas. Last note. I love watching these old training videos. The old days were definitely better than our current era.
This is what happens when your wendys trainers smokes you out but doesn't tell you its angel dust
