@@zionmorpheusYou’re completely right, along with the OP. Not gonna lie Wemby at the summer league still got all the concerns he had pre-drafted. Being raw, lacking physical strength, bad movements, unable to get under the best position, poor shot selections... It’s crazy how he turned things around during the few months in pre-season, he was a completely different player in October. People gave all the credit to Wemby, but I got to say the Spurs coaching staff deserves a shout-out as well, imagine him being drafted by the Pistons or the Hornets, I doubt he will improve this fast.

Why are people mad cause he has a healthy point of view?

What’s out of pocket with what he had to say about partying and alcohol and drugs? That’s his mindset about those things and that’s pretty incredible for a young guy like him. I partied and drank a lot when I was young, and in retrospect, I wish I didn’t. People just be projecting their own problems and insecurities to others. A hit dog will always holler.

We thought that the Spurs would win a significantly larger number of games with Wemby coming on board this year. We were wrong. Some think that Trae is a Spur and "guarantee" that he will fit. Thank God that the Spurs have people who are a lot better at making those decisions than fans.

Trae is a good fit.. is he the best? No but he’s definitely a perfect fit on the offensive end, now the spurs would have to also add some great 3 and D players to make up for Trae’s deficiencies on defense, but that Trae and wemby pick and roll with shooters spreading the floor would be almost unstoppable, wemby by himself can cover any defensive flaws Trae has but in would much rather have some good defensive wings to help ease the load on wemby

That don’t take away the fact that the Spurs were interested in him instead of acting like there is no reason to bring Trae alongside Wemby. The Spurs and Hawks had conversations about Trae which mean they considered bringing him to SA and still can possibly happen. Again no matter how you slice it that’s a fact you have to deal with

Sure the Spurs should ask for every good FA in this current time,I'm not against getting Trae, I'm against giving up ridiculous amount of future assets when we could have a cheaper one. Trae has the best offensive awareness in the league. If he can get a scrub like John Collins to get 20+ ppg, think about what he can do with Wemby. Scary thought.

I think that what Fans are completely ignoring is that players are going to want to play with Wemby so much that they will get what they need in free agency without ever having to throw away a bag of picks. The only reason to make a massive trade is if you believe that your window with Wemby is narrow and that he will take his earning potential to a big market team in NY or LA and you want a chip in the next 3 years before he leaves. If that is the case you make a bunch of moves now knowing that you are going to trade out whatever you bring in when he goes elsewhere and in that context a Trae Young move might make sense. If the Spurs pull the trigger on that expect Wemby to leave in 3 years along with Trae and Pop to retire with one or 2 more rings.

I watched the original video and when he said that he's been contacted first thing I went through my mind is clan and I was going to send you the video but I knew this was going to be too big of a deal for you to have missed it so I couldn't wait for this video to come out

i’m just worried about turn overs. trae young averages more TO’s than wemby and wemby is still in the process of fixing his turn over issue so we would be an absolute turn over machine 2024-2025

Rest assured, their defence will be worse with Trey. But he brings the elite to the other two things San Antonio needs; spacing and playmaking. I'm not sold his personality is a fit for the Spurs culture, though.

Why do people think Trae Young is a good fit for the Spurs? He would need to adjust his pay style completely, and he is clearly not willing to do that. He is a "I am the system" type of player. Also Matas Buzelis is an atrocious defender according to the metrics.

You're right about both, Clan just "Love" players like Buzelis who's smooth but not really good in terms of the stats implied... He's also a bad shooter beyond the arc as well,I don't know why Clan likes him more than Cody or Risacher, those 2 are my favorites for the Spurs to draft.

It’s impressive that he lead the league in assist with the players he had around him. Trae is one of the best shooters and playmakers in the league. He was literally on the all star team this year. The disrespect this dude get is wild… he may not be everyone cup of tea for whatever reason but let’s put a little respect on his name. He is an all star caliber PG no matter how slice it. If the Spurs go after him I’m all for it.

@@MarquisVegan Trae is fun to watch. His playmaking and passing is among the best in the league no doubt, but he is an elite chucker not an elite shooter. For his career, he shoots 43% from the field with 35% from three on over 18 attempts a game 😬. He also owns the NBA's sixth worst defensive plus minus. Even Malachi Branham is one slot better than Trae and Malachi is known for being among the WORST defenders that the NBA has to offer...so that is saying something. I am just not sure that taking on Trae's hefty long-term contract is a good thing for the Spurs future. Remember, the Hawks are looking to trade him for a reason.

Trey Young sounds good on the surface, but the man has to learn defense and undertand he is second to Wamba Wamba.

Ahhhh, Trey Young is short and expensive. We can get the point guard we need through the draft.

@@MarquisVegan Any that can play defense. Don't tell me you fell for Clan's : Oh well we are a bad defensive team outside Wemby so let's add one of the worst defenders in the league. We need a big guard who can play D and play make. Castle is a good choice. I'm sure you're going to complain about the shooting, but you don't care about defense, so I don't want to hear it. At least Castle can improve his shooting. Trae on the other hand can't improve much defensively, because he's too small. Spurs won't trade for him, Clan is delusional.
