    @@PrinceClxoud - have to have Bol Bol or someone similar to Bol Bol skills on him. There’s actually quite a bit of 7-2+ centers in the league , but not many with the quickness or as much length as Wemby. Wingspan is something seriously special. To be able to shoot with that range is even more special.

    You got that right, I'd say 3 years at the most, as long as he avoids injuries. I was thinking about a quote from Giannis who once said that everything changed for him once he realized he can drop 30 and 10 every time he plays. Once Wemby reaches that mental level, it's over for the entire league. He has the skills already and at this height he can't be stopped by no one.

    As a newbie to basketball, can you explain why that is? Is it tougher to shoot because of being too tall? I know the taller dudes are used to being near the basket but from what I understand these dudes the taller guys are also shooting more from 3, so why is that so impressive? I mean specifically the height factor, not the pulling up from that deep which is tough for anyone.

  • @aboller319

    @aboller319

    Ай бұрын

    @@raider1297 From a mechanics standpoint, it's harder for longer players to develop a proper shooting form. Their longer limbs mean greater travel distance. You can see this with Victor actually, his off the dribble three is good, but his catch and shoot is abysmal. When going off the dribble, the wind up flows naturally from his movement, while from catch and shoot, he uses more movement. From training standpoint, most tall kids are taught to play under the rim (which is a wrong way of training kids), at least in the USA. In Europe, young kids are taught all the fundamentals regardless of their size, that's why you see more versatile players coming from Euroball.

    @@raider1297Most 7 footers’ jump shots are too flat because their release point is so high. In the modern era, bigs have started to figure out the optimal arc required to give the ball the highest probability of going in. You’re look for 72 degree arc. Wemby’s jumper is one of the purest I’ve seen.

    @@raider1297 Bigs shooting 3's is a relatively new thing. They usually prioritize other things. It would be one thing if he was at 7'4 3 point specialist, that would be impressive, but he is not. He has a complete skill set and does it all. How are you suppose to guard somebody who can practically dunk from the free throw line and pulls up with confidence from Steph Curry range? It's truly unfair and one of a kind. It's not so much that he is specifically 7'4, but that he is huge, has the skills of a big man, and has the skills of a 3 point sniper all in just his first year, not to mention his absurd blocking ability which not all big men have.

    There is a documentary that was released in France about Victor. They truly received an excellent education with loving parents and a very close-knit sibling group. Besides being incredibly talented, Victor is also very intellectual. He has always been different from a young age, preferring to draw or read books rather than play video games or surf the internet. He doesn't like money, which he finds unhealthy; I think he would play basketball even without a salary. He truly loves the game. We are incredibly fortunate to watch him progress and take over from the likes of Jordan, Kobe, and LeBron as a flag bearer of global basketball.

    Give the kid ROY, DPOY and MVP right now and for the 15 next seasons. We all know that he's ALREADY the best player to ever play this game. The guy dunks, defends and blocks more than any other center ever, he shoots 2's and 3's from every distance (even from the logo !!) in every position like a guard, he drives the ball, dribbles, moves and passes like a 7'5" point guard. He's the ultimate player, as if he had been created in a lab by a crew of crazy former players and coaches...

    I had a playstation NBA game where I could customise a player. I made him crazy tall, fast, shoot 3s, strong rebounder. My usually calm and nice roommate was so mad at me he called me a cheater and he swore at me. Now I'm seeing that player in real life in Wemby
