Weiser Halo Smart Lock Installation

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Since I needed a lock for my side door which is being protected with a sock, I finally got around to getting the Smart Lock for my front door. Overall a pretty easy installation.

Does that mean anyone can break in if they have a smart door key that came in the box ? Why would they put that feature in?

No, you need the key that opens the lock first, then you insert the new key and turn it again. You have to have the key that unlocks the door in order to change the lock.

Any updates on how it drains batteries?

It really eats the batteries fast. But, if you turn off the automatic lock it's much less hard on the batteries

i bough this lock , the batteries drain in 1 month, ive called weiser numerous times about this they keep sending me replacement locks. this is now the third lock they have replaced YES 3, and they didnt even ask for the old ones back. I told them there have application problem hence the reason why the batteries dont last 6 months. I have an older generation soft key touch pad never changed batteries in that , but its not wifi. although they dont recommend rechargeable batteries, im going ahead and will use recharchables the cost and waste of batteries is ridiculous !! other than that, the app needs to be updated every now and then since some of the features get locked. the lock works fine in canadian winters, but that too will drain batteries. all in all, you will have to spend about 100$/yr on AA batteries for this product!!

Mine last more than a month, but less than 3 months. They wont last 6 months. I turned off the automatic lock function and that improved battery life a lot. We are a family of 6 and with the automatic lock function working the lock had to close itself about a million times a day.

That's strange. Does the app on your phone correctly identify if your lock is locked or unlocked. The app definately worked for me.

My lock shows offline and I’m in another country. Any idea how to get it online again? I’m gonna have a buddy go over. Not sure if he needs to install the app or not.

I have no idea, it could be that your home internet isnt on or that the lock batteries have died. If your friend has the door code and can get in he should be able to determine if those things are the problem

Can this product work well/resist Canadian winters ? Does it work with gloves on?

@@Mafioso1731 I would say no for gloves on. I'm in Canada though, and it has been fine. I had one in Edmonton as well and it was fine too. They do eat through batteries pretty fast though. That is my only complaint. It will go through about 12 AA a year.
