You can go to home depot with your lock and they fix/rekey the stuck cilinder for about $7.

any small pinhole push tool will work too instead of the rekey tool. I used a sim card eject tool which works the same

I was wondering

So can you keep switching back and forth which keys open the lock? If you had two sets and one was the original functioning key? And does the functioning key have to be the original or can it be one you have had cut? Thanks!

You can switch back and forth, as long as you have the little tool and the key fits in the lock.

I thought it was a daily use key that works as sort of a reinforced security 🤣 Now I know what it is

Hi. to me it looks like the first key (Mickey Mouse) was just a regular key? If so, could I purchase this lock and re-key to my house keys that I have now (for a non-smart deadbolt)?

The Mickey key was cut from the original that came with the Weiser lock. I think it depends if your current key fits in a Weiser lock or not.

Ty, I'm the care giver for my complex and was just told to rekey 2 units that moved out and didn't give us their keys.. im not the maintenance person. I just clean and do move in and out inspections, so i was like.. uuuuhhhh ill try.. and i did it!! Yeeeaaaahhh! now we just gotta get the mail boxes rekeyed.. 👎

You need both a Weiser Smart lock with the little slot and the Weiser Smart Tool. If you are missing the tool, contact Weiser or you could also ask a retailer that sells Weiser smart locks if they have a spare tool.

You could try, maybe pop by a hardware store and see if you can get a replacement, sometimes they have a drawer full of those things from the companies. If that doesn’t work, contact Weiser and see if they’ll send you one.

Hi Gail, Good question, so the point of the Weiser Smart Lock is that you CAN re-key the lock. The lock itself doesn't come with any extra keys other than the 2 they give you with the lock to begin with. I have a whole bunch of them, because when I bought my locks, each lock came with different keys, so I was able to re-key them all to the same key. If for instance you just moved in to a new house, and you want to change the locks you could go to your local hardware store and ask them to cut you a new key. Hope this clears things up a bit.

I would pop in at a Rona, Home Depot, Lowes or any hardware store that sells these locks and see if they have one.

How come this doesn’t mean that anyone can just buy the rekey kit and open any door they want ? Cause it come with a smart tool and keys that fit the hole. What am I missing here?

You need the original key in the lock first., then you insert the tool, switch keys to the new key.

Sigh.. it would be nice if there was a way to make this work if you somehow lose the original keys..
