So many times during villager engagements where Jupe's villagers are fighting and Springs are just walking away. Superior villager control made a big difference here too.

Can't blame the guy, it is really difficult to fight with vils and macro behind it, Jupe does it all the same and I doubt Sspring does, so ofc Jupe would outperform him, that's what his strat is all about. I would love to see Jupe vs Noboru.

AOE2: "In this game you must make military units to conquer your opponent, there is actually no other way to do it" Jupe: *TC drops* AOE2: "Wait what? Kinda weird and not what we meant with this game but interesting strategy" Spring: *Walls in Jupe's TC, starts towering him* AOE2: "No wait, this isn't the purpose of the game" Jupe + Spring: *Full on villager fight* AOE2: "Ugh ffs.. nvm.."

That is the great thing about AOE2, in most 'modern' games, it would be explicitly patched to stop this sort of behaviour.

Agreed. That was a nice comeback. Had spring used the time window he had to send just a few scouts to Jupe's original base, Jupe would not have had enough stone to win.

imagine being so good at doing TC drops that people build an SCP containment facility around you in an attempt to prevent your power from escaping back out into the world. that is basically this AoE 2 match in a nutshell.

Biggest mistake was that he didn't wall in his towers. Yes, archers would have been great but let's be honest, two walled in towers in great positions would have broken jupe's back. Then he could have calmly transitioned to archers and murdered jupe's eco at home.

GG, both players did very well imo.

I think what made difference was that jupe had constant flow of resources from villagers he left behind spring constantly moved them about sometimes not gathering anything.

Anthony Harris Multitasking takes practice. a) One way to do it is to have a mental checklist / "script" of TODOs you run through every few seconds. b) Another way is to be continually be asking yourself: _What should I be building next?_ It's one of the reason players memorize a "build order" and why TC drops which look so harmless can be so destructive -- it puts the opponent on "defense" as they can now no longer just blindly follow a build order. That's why AoE2 is one the greatest RTS games. **Dynamic tactics and strategy.**

Still stand by the idea, if instead of a bunch of gates when he broke out he made two towers closer to his base and boomed he wins. First person to successfully make actual military wins. Or just raid his farm even before you resign and wipe his economy. Still was very winable

You cannot make multiple TCs at a time until Castle Age. But if you lose your only TC in Dark/Feudal, you are allowed to build a new one
