Infielder caught the line drive, then the runner at third was doubled off because he had to return to second? 13:35 Cut too short. Both were out because the runner coming back pulled his hand off the bag while being tagged. Had he had kept his hand on the bag, only the trail runner would have been out due to both being on the base at the same time. 15:54 Jose Fernandez, gone far too soon. The clips are cut too short, and there are explanations given by announcers that are cut off mid-sentence. Some of these don't seem all that weird, and others are cut too short for us to know what really happened and/or why they were weird.

Rule 7.08(c) and (j) Whether or not he has made an attempt to go to second or not is at the discretion of the umpire.

I was at that game. The short part that was cut out would have shown the runner turn and take 2 or 3 steps toward 2nd before walking back to first.

Maybe a little longer on the edits? You cut off some of the explanations

Actually, in the short part that isn't shown, the runner turns and takes 2 or 3 steps towards second before returning to first base.

If when running past first base and at anytime turn left you are still in play. You have to turn right after running past first.

1. A lot of these clips are not weird 2. There are half-second clips that aren't supposed to be there 3. Clips are cutting off at the wrong time

For crying out loud, if two runners occupy the same base, tag the trailing runner.

Usually. Opposite if a runner forced to advance decides not to. When in doubt tag them both and let the umpires sort it out.

Tag both runners. If you're lucky the wrong runner leaves the bag and you can tag him tol.
