That doesn't usually stop actors from using their newly acquired prowess and keep earning the big bux, But with Daniel he's played the game different. And yes he's earned est 100 million from the harry potter franchise alone, Plus the continued royalties! Which are no doubt healthy. Daniel once said in an interview: “I’m very grateful for this , because having money means you don’t have to worry about it, which is a very lovely freedom to have,” “It also gives me immense freedom, career-wise … For all the people who’ve followed my career, I want to give them something to be interested in, rather than them just watch me make loads of money on crap films for the rest of my life.”

People find Daniel to be a surreal and strange pick Al made to play as himself but I think I totally get the gag; this is clearly meant to be also a parody of biopics like how they always get top tier celebs to play as these historical figures even if they range from accurate to exaggerations. Casting Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al Yankovic is part of the gag and this is why Al is such a genius in comedy I’m excited for this 😊 but seriously to those in doubt: try to think of this in Al’s mind

Mate, you might be on to something. 🤔 I like how your mind works and I believe Al is just that kind of genius, to pull something like that. Imagine if he'd hired the Spiderman kid. 😅 To further the trope of *the artist* being impossibly beautiful and perfect. But also, Al talked about it and it seems like they might be very similar, Al and Daniel, humor vise. I dunno ofc. But Maybe Daniel has the Al vibe, more than the look. Tho he's not that far off imo. 😅 White and Nerdy. They all look like penguins to me.

It's basically an autobiography and the selection of Daniel Radcliffe as him is clearly meant to be a joke. He knew well that a British guy won't accurately potray Weird Al but that's the part of the joke. I'm sure it won't be a typical biopic that has to be taken seriously and remember that this was based on a gag produced years ago.

My dad was one of the original Al fans, back when he was still fairly unknown on Dr. Demento. I grew up hearing all the great Al songs on roadtrips, around the house, he's the only artist I've seen in concert more than once, having seen at least like, 5 of his shows, even if I was too young to really appreciate most of them. Now I've got a permanent love for Al and his especially hilarious brand of comedy, though I will say I've always enjoyed his original work more than his parodies. Truly cannot express how much I love your work, and how essential it has been in shaping my personality growing up. Thank you for that, and so much more, and I'm so excited to watch this movie.
