Here's the episode, if anyone wants to take a look: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eHeDmaWjY92Xd5c.html
I will never forget when he opened for the Monkees back in 87, I was at the concert in Houston and Al comes down from the stage and starts walking through and seranading the crowd. He came over and was standing about three feet from me. I don't know if he saw or made eye contact with me, but seconds later, a bunch of screaming girls take after him, and in seconds, he runs down to the base of the level, jumps over the metal railing, lands on his feet in the level below and runs to the stage, barely getting away from the girls, who, if had caught him would have probably torn him apart. Needless to say, I have been a fan of his ever since.
Some of the nicest people in showbiz all in a room together
Seth has interviewed some of the most beautiful people and joked around with some of the funniest, but the only thing I've ever been envious of is him getting that hug from Weird Al.
It's great just how long Weird Al has endured. He's like a comedy elder statesman.

And his material has aged so much better than many other 80's comics such as Andrew Dice Clay, Bobcat Goldthwaite and Michael Winslow. Sometimes the songs are remembered more for Al's parodies than for the originals. Although I can't think of an example where that's true so I'm probably just too high to have a fully functioning brain. It's Sunday, I'm not religious. So I get high. I feel your judgement. It will justify me getting even higher. Thanks.

Weird Al is incredibly kind in real life. National treasure.
Weird Al is one of the most underrated music artists of all time!

Absolutely. People sleep on him because he’s a comedy musician but part of why he’s so successful is because he’s a genuinely great musician who can work in any genre. He uses a comedy voice when he sings because, comedy, but you can tell the dude can really sing too.

Well, it's very understanding knowing there are many people who don't like to see parodies of their favourite songs, so, for them it's an offense and of course, they will not support this kind of music. You know, fanatism.
Daniel is a good interview. Al is zany, unpredictable and time flies by. The two are a historical moment. I haven't had the patience to watch a movie in years. But this is one of those moments.
Saw Al live and gotta say...dude puts on a show. Non-stop the whole time, vocals where great, and there was a zillion costume changes.
It really is a great movie. Radcliffe keeps showing his range, above and beyond the Potter phenomenon. I liked him quite a bit in "Horns," a fine flick with an interesting premise and a good plot with plenty of moving drama. I think Radcliffe is specially good at showing how a real person actually feels throughout all those challenging moments. Overwhelmed, confused, intense. In some movies he gets to do it in a serious way. In this one, he does it in a mix of serious and funny. Again, great range there. His "wtf" face is just up there. At a first glance, one may not SEE him as Weird Al. But when you give it a chance, it's clear they NAILED it. This movie is a treat for both newcomers and those who know Weird Al from way back. The over the top, silly, absurd, witty brand of humor he does, just never gets old. Whether Weird Al is new to you, or you pretty much expected such a level of crazy. It's one of my favorite kinds of humor, and I guess it shows xD I certainly expect a lot of surprised people out there, seeing as there's surely a generational gap since Weird Al is an '80s thing first. And Radcliffe attracts mostly younger people, even though the Potter phenomenon trascends generations. But I bet most of the newcomers got to enjoy it. In any case, it's a flick for everyone to have fun. You can totally see it in the cast, and they transmit it smoothly to the audience.
I remember buying "BAD HAIR DAY" as a CD. I can't wait to see this movie.
I never imagined I'd be excited about a Weird Al biopic but here I am.
This interview was pure good vibes! Now I wanna see the movie.
amazing interview. everyone seems genuinely excited to be apart of the conversation. Glad you are such a big fan Seth!
Daniel being quite a talented rapper, what I would really love to hear is him doing the rap in the middle of "Hardware Store". 😁
I still remember in 1990 when i was 10, my mom got me in to meet Weird Al while his hairdresser was getting him ready for a show backstage. He wackily spun around in his chair, and acted like he was so happy to see me, then signed a personalized autograph. Talk about a super nice guy.
Daniel Radcliffe is really a wonderful actor who really makes bold acting choices. Can’t wait to watch this.
Daniel Radcliffe’s performance in this movie is underrated. As Al mentions, it’s brilliant because it’s such a ridiculous role and zany story, but he plays it completely straight and he really commits!
one time I danced with Weird Al while he was playing a show. Childhood me was so happy.
How does Daniel stay so humble and grounded when sitting on all that $$$? Hats off to such a cool dude.

One of the BEST concerts I've EVER attended was with Weird Al Yankovic. SO much energy and FUN!
I like how Weird Al played the critic to his own art in exactly the same way that Huey Lewis did in Back to the Future.
This movie was amazing!! Me and my 3 oldest kids were laughing the whole time!
Thank you for making me smile this hard. All three of these people.
What a great duo! I remember spending WEEKS trying to sing along Al's "Hardware Store", to mediocre results. That man is a word magician, rivaled only by Eminem. My favorite parody of his has to be White & Nerdy. It's better than the original! And Daniel, what a class act he is. Always a pleasure in an interview. I bet he's fun to work with also. He's held many good roles since Harry Potter, but the character will always stay with him, like Indiana Jones for Harrison Ford. Especially since he's decided to never age... It's the price of success!

8:50 I never heard "Bob" before but now I must look it up. "Weird" Al's "White and Nerdy" and "It's All About the Pentiums, Baby" showcase just how good a rapper he is. I'm not even joking. It's amazing.

I don't like Bob but for Daniel to name such a deep cut shows that he has actually listened to Al's music.
This is the only movie I've WANTED to see in years. What a weird concept.
Met him back in the late 80s on the Vegas strip. I was with my friend Joe Castle, and we were attending the NAMM show, and we met outside the convention just walking around. We chatted, but since we were outside, we had nothing for him to sign and it was way before cellphones. He was a terrific guy, and rather tall. Since then, I've seen him a couple of times touring. He's just the best. And his full on Accordion solos are fantastic!
It’s so important to understand the impact that he had on the industry of music and how iconic he actually is. he created the songs that we love and will remember bard the first love of music and the songs he parodied. Iv seen him so many times.. he is such a performer and is a rock star truly.
Sounds exactly like the type of comedy I love most! 😄
One more minute with you. Hilarious parody of a genre and beautifully composed original at once.
I love that Daniel Radcliff is playing weird Al, such great casting. They are both super special men.
I greatly admire Al and Daniel, Al being so talented musically, Daniel a seemingly unspoiled child star, also very talented, perhaps not on the accordion, but for me for one, that is a huge relief.
Brilliant and Foil from Weird Al is truly amazing
As a kid, hearing "Yoda" for the first time made me laugh so hard I could barely breathe. I know it's silly, but thats what's so great about it. It's just silly wholesome stuff
Weird Al is a gift from the heavens. His talent and unique sound is unparalleled. And I must add the same goes for Daniel.
I'm so looking forward to seeing this movie! UHF has long been a favorite of mine, I trust Al with film, music, anything he touches turns to gold.
Al is such a talented writer. The stuff he comes out with is both bonkers and brilliant! Word crimes is a current fave.
What I love about Weird Al. Is he is himself truly 100%… and I kinda had a hard time with that growing up. Ppl used to call me weird and strange and I can kinda connect with Weird Al bcuz he embraces that part of himself! It’s really helpful to a lot of us who have struggled with self confidence!
The return of true deadpan comedy... Who knew Daniel and Al would be the Mel Brooks and Leslie Nielsen of our generation...
