Yeah, I mean that impression of his singing was so spot on it's hard to tell it from the real thing

The fact that they just did a voice-over of Al's singing voice instead of having Radcliff attempt it or do an audio mix of the two voices (like they did in bohemian rhapsody) is hilarious. It reminds me of English dubbed animes where whenever a character has to sing something, they just cut to the original japanese audio so they don't have to localize a whole song or make the VA sing in Japanese.

And the fact that he's personally taking over both screenwriting and production alongside director Eric Appel, shows just how fricking accurate this biopic will be. The trailer is very similar to the old Funny Or Die parody trailer they made a while back, and he was in that one as well in the same position. Looks like they spun off of that concept and just rolled with it for a whole movie.

I am so excited to see this documentary about weird al’s actions during the napoleonic wars. It is very unknown that he played a major role in the downfall of napoleon. During the pivotal battle of Waterloo, weird al was about to be killed by napoleon but he said “im too white and nerdy to be killed by you.” These words shocked napoleon, who remembered being driven out of Corsica for being too French. As he wept weird al drew a cannon out of his accordion and shot him right in the pancreas. Not all heroes wear capes. 😔😔 🤜 solidarity.

Finally got to see the movie, absolutely amazing. I laughed and cried through out the movie. I didn't realize Al had gone through such a hard life. I just took his music for granted without realizing what it took to create it. Cast was great, Daniel nailed it. And so many deep jokes kept me enthralled. I can't wait for the next movie in 33 years.

I can't believe we're finally getting a true biography including the well documented years of Al's trouble with drugs and alcohol addiction. He tried to have that scrubbed or power washed from the public consciousness but I'm glad he's ready to explore it with film, and a straight to streaming film(the highest quality film) at that

Ok...but why did I fucking tear up at the end!?! I unironically cried at "be as weird as you want to be". That really struck a chord. A very specific chord. Namely, a Bm on the back in of a minor plagal cadence. Love the fact that this is using a lot of cliches from biopics to bring to his story like a Biopic Parody which is fitting. Daniel looks awesome and Evan looks spot on as well. This looks Weird And Fun. Can't wait for this and wish it was going to theaters.

Love that Al Yankovic cameo at 2:40 and also love the fact that this is so over the top NOT factual. I doubt Al has ever even held a cigarette in his hand, let alone put one out in someone's hand.

This movie is beautiful! Love it. Smiling ear to ear right now. Ever since seeing the skit on Funny or Die I've been wishing for this movie to be made. FANTASTIC. Love that Radcliff is playing Al.

Finally, an honest biopic about the man who taught us to Love Rocky Road and had one of his own. Also: Rainn Wilson as Dr. Demento is a genius stroke of casting, I expect there to be nominations at oscar time!

Weird Al's parodies are often so much better than the original songs. My kids and I would listen to his versions instead. My younger one didn't know that "Beat it" existed. 🤣🤣

@@waters-above I take it you're not familiar with Al's mid 80's work? "Dare to be stupid" was one of his biggest "hits" An original song, done in the style of Devo. Basically giving props to other people and artists who weren't afraid of being silly. The song was prominently featured in the original animated Transformers movie around 86.

I knew Weird Al was a DJ who sent his tapes to Dr Demento, but I had no idea that he actually recorded My Bologna in a university bathroom because he thought the acoustics were perfect. I just assumed he picked a ridiculous place for the biopic and didn't choose the moon because it was too far fetched.

I've not been so excited for an unreleased movie since I was a kid. This has so much comedy potential to the point that even the trailer was hilarious due to mocking every single biopic trope. I can't wait to see it.

I hope this biopic won't shy away from finally explaining the *TRUTH* behind Al's infamous mustache malfunction during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

I've said it for years, "Weird Al is a lyrical genius!" 🎶🤩

I was wondering why Al had denied permission to Madonna to talk about their relationship for so long. Now I understand, he was saving the big reveal for his own autobiography. Brilliant flex.

I remember listening to your music every day in the 90s as a young kid. You have some of the most memorable lyrics out there and no matter how I was feeling they always put a big ol smile on my face. It's also a fun bonus that it drives my wife absolutely nuts when I sing over her music with your parodies! Can't wait to meet you at your concert in Chandler AZ in a few days!

So weird Al who parodies popular songs is making a parody of a biopic that is a parody of his own life… this is the best idea I’ve ever heard!

A parody of a parody. The funniest man on earth. Love you Wierdo.

Do you like Weird Al? I've been a big Yankovic fan ever since the release of his 1985 album, Dare to be Stupid. Before that, I really didn't understand any of his work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Dare to be Stupid where Al's presence became more apparent. I think "Living with a Hernia" was his undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Bermuda, Jay, and Schwartz. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Foil. In this song, Weird Al addresses the problems of abusive political authority. One More Minute is the most moving Doo-wop of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your a**hole. Weird Al's solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like Word Games and Amish Paradise. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, Eat It. But I also think Weird Al works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is "White and Nerdy", a great, great song, a personal favorite.

White and Nerdy is my favorite because you can replace "White" with "Asian" and few other words and it would still be pretty accurate. And its funny of course.

I just saw him in concert last night, and he was phenomenal!

This is so friggin hilarious knowing what a sweet and respectful person he actually is xD I cant wait to see it!

Visited the states for the summer of 99. My cousin got me 'Running With Scissors', played that album over and over all summer. Albuquerque was the shit haha.

I like how blatantly untrue a lot of this is and it’s not trying to hide it because that’s the point. I’m on board.

It's been a while since I've actually felt excited about seeing a new movie. This one fills the prescription!

Same. The minute I saw the trailer, I'm like "alright, I need to watch this".

Just saw him in concert (second time) a few weeks ago. He is legend, definitely watching this.

They literally turned the Funny or Die sketch into a real movie and I love it.

This is proof that I'll never have access to a time machine. For if I did, I would have taken a copy of this movie, gone back in time, and shown it to myself yesterday.

I can't wait to see this: the parody of the story of Wierd Al's life!! Yes...... it's about time! You can only watch UHF over and over for just so many years...... We needed a new movie!! Al, you are "The Man 2.0", we love you, Brother!!

I love Daniel Radcliffe, he’s so good at every role he has. No exception here based on this trailer.

I'm just throwing this out here... I somehow think that maybe, just possibly, there's a teensy itty bitty amount of a tiny little bit of creative theory going on with the story. I mean, that whole bathroom recording session scene... c'mon, *really*?! We're supposed to believe that happened?! But man, if it's all true, what a ride you've had, Al Yankovic. What a ride indeed. Can't wait to see it!

The bathroom thing is real, back in the day, it was the cheep man sound room for making demo's. Lot of artists did this

@@JConnollystudio : Yeah, that's the joke. The comment was jokingly pointing out that the bathroom recording scene is one of the very few things in this trailer that is actually true. Al has talked about how he got a nice echo effect in the bathroom, so he would record in the bathroom doorway. This allowed him to step in and out and have echo only on the parts of the track he wanted.

Just finished watching it and it was absolutely awesome! I loved it! Loved the cameos! It was obvious it was fun to do and it was a love letter to your career.

I love that Weird Al's voice comes out of Daniel Radcliffe when he performs. Brilliant! This is going to be so good!!!

Can we talk about how the guy “Weird Al” throws the tape to is played by the real Weird Al?

It blows my mind to think that by all accounts Al Yankovic is a sweet, clean living guy and his biography paints him as a rotter.

I think I might die laughing from this trailer alone. Danielle Radcliffe is the perfect choice for this. I've loved your music since I was a kid. Best birthday ever was catching your concert in Penticton, BC a few years back. Can't wait to watch this.

Damn.... Magnificent. Cast, story, humor... couldn't have asked for more. This is going to be amazing, no doubt.

This looks amazing. (although I am a little torn... wishing it were a real biopic about his life - which I'm sure was interesting enough without needing to parody biopics) Either way, I will see it because I love the stuff Al creates! Looks like it comes out in about a week... can't wait! :)

There have been a few documentaries made that covered the major interesting points in Al's life. This looks like a biography with added humor, creative license, and parodies of other biographies.

We may have once thought weird al's life was a tragedy but now we know better....it's a comedy

In case you are not picking up on this, this is a satire of self serving rock-star-biopics which either gloss over or completely ignore controversy. Since Weird Al's biggest controversy is not having express permission to parody one particular song and not getting married until he was forty, they are making it all up. Jokes are more funny when you have to explain them, right?
