Weird Fighting Games - Queen Busters

Ойындар

Episode 6 - Queen Busters
Venture into the unknown and obscure or fighters you may have just ignored. Welcome to Weird Fighting Games. On this episode we look at another type moon fan game that takes heavy inspiration form a certain Nintendo franchise. Type Moon June Continues.
Music Used:
Shopping District - Queen Busters
Mall Music 3 - Dead Rising
Track 8 - Tsukhime
Encount - Melty Blood
Park - Queen Busters
Fever - Super Smash Bros Melee
I went a little overboard. During the editing process I kept adding a bunch of stuff so I hope people apricate the little details here and there. You might notice that I sound a lot more stilted in this video and that's because it's been a rough week and I was trying my hardest to get this video out on time. I don't think next week's episode will come out on time so I'm sorry about that but I'll try my best and if I have to delay it a week so be it; quality over quantity I say. I've been working on this since Friday and I'm about as tired as I was when I finished the Melty retrospective. That is likely due to the fact I did a majority of the editing of this video in 1 day over an extended period of time (not a good idea). In the end it paid off. Last week's video was on the easier side so I guess it all balances out. Thanks for reading I truly apricate you all.

Hello, old fan of Ragnarok here. I can totally see why the studio saw a connection. If you need a good example music wise : Monastery In Disguise. This song could totally be in the Melty Blood Rooster. Also it was the 2000!!! The whole ideal was to make those connections, flash was made for that too.

It’s a very 2000’s crossover. Also I listened to the song and I totally agree

It's funny to see how KZread recognizes this game as Super Smash Bros.Melee.

Probably because I used the Dr.Mario melee theme. They sure as hell don’t have this game in their database

So about the inconsistent knockback thing. As someone who has been playing Smash Bros for quite a while (I'm not super great at the games but I know enough about the mechanics to get by in some locals) similar inconsistencies like that can happen in Smash but most of the time, it can only happen when the player on the recieving end excecutes very specific tech. 3 of the most well known ones that I can think of consists of Directional Incluence (Or DI for short) which changes the angle a bit to survive higher than usual percents or forces the opponent to mix up their combo, Smash DI which (from what I understand) is basically jabbing the stick a bunch to negate some knockback, usually from multihit attacks and Crouch Canceling which negates knockback completely by crouching although it only works on very low percents. So I'm not entirely sure of you were excecuting similar tech and not even know it or if Queen Busters is just THAT shottily programed. Or maybe both!

Definitely both! Thanks for the explanation I love hearing deep dives about mechanics.

nice video! though i'll have to add that this game also has characters from a visual novel by KEY named Kanon. the bgm at the start of the video is a rearrangement of one track (A City in Sunlight i believe) in the game. i just found it weird that there would be a Kanon track in a game with Tsukihime and an MMORPG's characters so i dug around for a bit and yeah. but from what i've found they only unlock when you beat the game a few times with different characters

There’s always something I miss, thanks for the info! I couldn’t even unlock the other ragnarok characters crazy that there are even more I didn’t see. If I ever make a weird fighting games follow up episode where I cover things I missed I’ll make sure to shout you out. Oh and thanks for watching and commenting I truly appreciate it

I’m sorry to hear you’re having a rough day but I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the video that means a lot to me (and made my day!). A bad day can really knock you down and if you get a few in a row it really hits you but if you keep on moving forward you’ll get past it. So I hope you have a pleasant tomorrow.

Underrated channel, lemme guess, the next game you're going to cover is that Capcom Fate game right? I noticed you haven't mentioned it at all in your videos about other Fate fighting games.

You can't talk about weird fighting games without bringing up Joy Mech Fight, a fighting game developed and published by Nintendo for the Family Computer, released in Japan on May 21, 1993. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joy_Mech_Fight)
