@tibor640 Vardanyan was the best of the three you mentioned, and his sinclair was 489.7 or so. Karlos, with 420, would have gotten 490.73 training, and hypotheticals don't mean anything, though.

Not convinced if Karlos' numbers at the end is reality, or more part of a mental game though, assuming this will get in Nino's ears.

I've been watching the competition and enjoying the insight that Seb and Max provide in their commentary. But given how the Armenians in the audience have responded when their lifters approach the platform. I'm eager to see how they respond when Varazdat Lalayan lifts? I'm also wondering whatever happened to the woman that was wheeled out on a stretcher from the other day? I hope she's ok. And I'm still amazed by how Andreea Cotruta passed out, came to and then went out and made another gold medal winning lift. I'm also hoping Weightlifting House will be streaming the competition in Cuba as well? Inquiring minds want to know.

The thing that gets me about weightlifting house is that there is a celebration of excellence in the sport, which I agree with, but Seb is vocally for the sport being clean. I don’t know how one can look at Karlos Nasar and think that he is anything near human. I’m curious how one squares that circle

If Karlos is not clean, there's never been a better time to catch him. There's little money in Bulgarian weightlifting to pay bribes, the government offers very little support, and testing protocols are pretty strict. Frankly if WADA cannot catch a Bulgarian doping nowadays, they might as well pack it in.

@@ibfreely8952 PED Research will always be years ahead of the anti-doping detection tests developed to detect them. It is simply the nature of it, and all it takes is a Biochemist or similar professional to keep up to date on the PED and anti-doping research and provide the teams with the drugs and protocols. Doctor Giorgi likely fills this role for Georgia as an example. Keep in mind however, that all sports where power, strength, and endurance training are at their core, PED's are also present in all levels from Amateur to Olympic. The only clean Olympic sports I could think of would be Archery, Shooting, Skateboarding, Diving, Sailing, and maybe Fencing.

Can some interview Nasar's coach? Maybe a "Coaching Nasar" special video... the poor guy goes around the world telling this mfer what to do to the best of his ability, but he still does one or two reps more after the "thats it" signal, a whole series of snatch pulls when he shouldn't...

I feel the weightlifting sport at an elite level is just countries competing to develop the best protocol to not get pop, I mean these training halls are getting crazy, and I have nothing against the athletes but look at Karlos' workouts before competing, just nuts and Karlos telling the coach what to do? or am I wrong?

Grip strength is directly correlated with Testosterone levels. When someone pulls a 100+kg, and they have a history of juicing, you know their test levels are probably supraphysiological 😂
Its always interesting how someone growing so quickly in casting weightlifting is a terrible weightlifter themselves. Good job 👏

Shakenbake, I invite you to reflect about this using other approach. It's true that Sebs numbers are not elite or world class. However, that does not matter, because just like me and you he and the WH team have a passion on weightlifting and they found a professional way to give their contribution to the sport by providing high quality and entertaining content - for free. Most importantly, the athletes reconize and respect that effort, thus always greeting WH with a smile. Those, I believe, are some of the reasons why they grow so fast :)

@@WeightliftingHouse why would i be annoyed by it? I was talking the other day about how good coaches arent necessarily good athletes, and i brought you up as an example, of how being an athlete is absolutely not a prerequisite for knowing what goes on in the sport.
