Everyone shake in fear, he alone without the golden core can make the entire cultivation world shake with fear. Even after he died for many years his name still make everyone scared.Imagine this was HOB AU maybe our Yiling patriarch will be born again into Supreme Demon and wreck havoc. But I know he's to kind to even do that

I love wei wuxian's character so much. He was the strongest mentally, physically and was a prodigy with the most potential as a cultivator from his generation. WWX took pride in his talents yet he was so selfless that he gave away his golden core to his brother knowing full well that he would become ordinary without it. But he still survived, found other ways to become powerful, instilled fear in his enemies and became the Yiling Patriarch all without his golden core. He devised new magical techniques and items with his out of the box thinking that people used even after his death. Only he could control Wen ning and the stylian tiger amulet. No one would dare take him lightly.

But it was heart breaking while watching him transform from a ray of sunshine to just someone who seemed so evil(I couldn’t stop crying in those few episodes) , and even if he got back to being a part of himself in his next life he was never the same.

I've gotta say Wei Wuxian, Lan Zhan, and Nie Huaisang are my favorite character. My reason for Huaisang is the fact that he is a manipulative genius. I really admire characters like that. Like Azula from ATLA. I remember the moment when I realized that Huaisang was behind it all. They mentioned it at the end of the drama and then I had a flashback to the beginning of that unknown person behind the curtain with a fan. Then I realized who it was and had a stroke. Completely caught me off guard.

At the crux of it.. The Untamed was a story of greed and how it shaped mankind, as well as of love. There's no escaping one or the other. Whether it's Wei ying, xue yang or Jin guangyao, they were all ultimately the victims of society's double standard.

I have never seen a character straight-up breakdown and give up the way Wei Wuxian did. It's horrifyingly beautiful how they just broke him. He truly had no choice. No other stories have the balls to just break their character the way The Untamed did.

it's horrifying because it's so real. in fiction mc's oftentimes have a few capacities until they break, and then their Break is the catalysm for whatever is the key to the solution in the end. it's a well-executed, throughroughly planned breakdown. however, in real life people who experience such horrifying atrocities don't break like this. they just break ... and that's it. real humans are fragile. their breakdown holds no higher meaning and really only brings suffering and more sadness. you can assign a meaning afterwards, to learn to deal with it, but that's a cope strategy and not the hidden reason behind, because trauma has no reason. it just happens. and that's why wwx's story is so heartbreaking and gripping. it's way too real and close to the truth, because this is how people in the real world break.

So true!! I just reached ep 33 where he dies and omggg poor wuxian :( it was sooooo sad. I always thought they killed him, I never anticipated that they drove him to kill himself and lan zhan holding on to him for dear life but it was way way too late then. My heart. Is. Broken. To. Pieces. Here’s hoping he gets justice in his second life

I love the bond between Yanli and Wei Ying so much I’m sobbing, really he cherished her so much the moment she died all his will to keep fighting vanished with her. Wei Ying didn’t deserve all the shit the so called clan leaders gave him these episodes frustrated me so much istg

He is the winner of the award "who is the most misunderstood character " He always took responsibility for his doings and stayed silent if someone told him anything He always took all the blame even when it actually wasn't his fault and he just blamed himself and everybody used him as a great target since they needed someone to blame and it pained me everytime to see him broken

I read a comment somewhere that said the best thing about the untamed is that every character is morally gray and I think that’s so true wwx isn’t a bad person he tried to do the right thing even when the odds were all stacked against him but what inevitably lead to his demise was his arrogance I think all the actors played their roles phenomenally and I appreciate the way that the story offers all these different perspectives I appreciate how you can question the morals of everyone because that’s how humans are there is no “good“ and no “bad“ person

Yes Wei Ying's arrogance was that he thought he was unbreakable. It makes sense because he was the only human who survived the burial mounds and came back in one piece although deep down, he knows that he is not the person he was before he fell into the burial mounds. He thought that he could do the right thing with his power, but he forgot that he was human who is vulnerable, who loves and is loved. And that's what made me love him very much. The fact that he was human, that he was vulnerable when it comes to his loved ones which was used against him (in the form of JZX's and JYL's deaths). I know in the drama it was all planned by JGY, but in the novel, we can understand that he is not a hero (he tried but we know how it went), he merely just wanted to save the people who saved him and his family. What makes him godly is his ability to love, smile, give kindness to those around him even in adversity and let go of resentment.

He used his bastard son to kill his own legitimate son because he might be a threat to him in the future. He just never knew how much of a snake his bastard son was though, which led to his own downfall (well deserved).

As we know, in the drama it wasn't all about arrogance, part of which was actually a front that Wei Ying put up. After giving away his golden core, he felt that he had no choice but to use those darker means in order to protect people who were important to him and to take revenge for his foster parents and the Lotus Pier. Also, things may not have ended up quite so bad (in the drama) if not for Jin Guangyao's messing. Remember that the most horrible things, such as the deaths of Wei Wuxian's sister and her husband, happened exactly because of that.

While There is Lan zhan standing like the most heart broken person who lost his love.it's so heart breaking. One said goodbye and the other waited.......

If Wei Ying isn't the most interesting and sad and most deserving of love, I don't know who is.

I want to see Xiao Zhan play a villain, his Yiling Patriarch was so intense and intimidating!!

3:11 - 3:17 these parts were put so well together with the bg music. I love this part of the drama. You can see wwx was out of his mind. It was like he couldn't hear anything, see or feel anything, he had already decided that its better to end. Even he didnt hear or see lwj calling for him until he falls and lwj grabs his hand then he noticed lwj was there and also someone was still trying to save him. But its too late. He smiles at his last hope but he had already decided.

This is what I show my friends when I'm trying to make them watch the show. But before this I show them videos of Wei Wuxian being the softest and funniest baby. The duality of this character is everything. He really went from being the smartest and kindest to being the smartest and most feared person in the cultivation world.

I’m here everyday because I still can’t get over this drama 😭 This edit is so powerful and I have chills everytime 😭

When WWX said that JC's life is the cultivation and Wen Qing said "what about you?" I cried hard. We all know that WWX skills is the best. And without his core, how hard can it be? 😭

the way he was gone for 3 months and then came back a different person in a whole different font broke me, he did his job. He protected everyone and lost himself and his golden core yet still out came that and even so they broke him over and over again, out of all people they chose to blame him for everything after all my baby ever did was save, protect and love them. This show truly changed me as a person, I watch it every 2 months to remind myself I’m not at my lowest and it js shows me friendship, caring, love and humor and most importantly humanity. Will forever love this show and pass it down to my kids and my whole bloodline 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I read the manhwa, watched the animation and also the drama and all genres made me feel love, and anger for wei wuxian. He deserves more than what those people do to him. He became yiling patriarch but I wished that he didn't have to go through all the sufferings because he is too kind for the world.

When he says that he already died once so they came from the netherworld. When interpreting it, it is so much sadder because his old self died when he was thrown into the Burial mounds.

Wow this just gave me goosebumps. Feels like a trailer youd see at the cinema with your hand full of popcorn, frozen halfway to your mouth cause of the awesomeness. I want to Rewatch now and I really don't have the time help.

I'm re-reading the books right now so I keep watching videos to accompany my reading, and I love all the dark Wei Wuxian edits. Like, the imposing/scary nature of the Yiling laozu role and his subsequent downfall was so tragic, and you could just see how it would all lead to tragedy, and he clearly had severe PTSD, but it's also kinda hot and quite impressive. I mean, what a life to live, to hold that much power through only your own skills and actions, and not through politics or being born into privilege. If they had let just him live, he would have been the grandmaster of the entire cultivation world simply by being the smartest and most inventive.

I never knew wuxian was actually never evil but everyone else was. Shocks me to infinity and back how everyone stayed quiet watching the massacre of the wen clan, even the lan clan!! Who you’d think would not accept this kind of injustice. I got frustrated over lan zhan so many times like dude please defend him! but anyway damn that was even sadder than wuxian going to the dark side :( my baby was bound to fail, they were all against him. Even lan zhan. Although he did not want to hurt him, he was also against him which breaks my heart!! I only reached his death. I haven’t continued the show yet but I’m drowning in my feelings so I’m going to start working on that edit for now. I’m looking forward to continuing though so bad! I want to see if wuxian will get justice and if he’ll reconcile with jiang and I HOPE that Lan Zhan apologises profusely for turning on him at the end too.

@Χρυσή Πετρίδου wow!! Thank you for writing all that and giving me a second perspective! You’re actually entirely right!! I never saw it like that at all! I think it’s because he’s so put together and poker faced that you can’t see the conflict so you don’t considerate it. But you’re right, even if we can’t necessarily see the internal conflict like we see it on wuxian, it is still there. Thank you again! I have not read the book! I’ll finish the show and see if I’ll end up reading the book at the end.

I love everything about the Yiling patriarch His selflessness taught me alot he stood for what's right and no matter the situation couldn't repay good with evil am staying this in the case of wen ning *ghost general he was good to him when lotus pier was attacked and becoz of that wei ying fight for them till the end. Miamiia pardon the spelling the lady he protected in the cave giving away his core his every action was about sacrifice and apart from wen ning none repaid him and we speak of Angel's yiling patriarch was the real angel and usually Angel's are never understood probably that's why he was hated. My first love in this series loved him till the end ahhahaha

This edit is a masterpiece. I keep coming back to it at least once a month whenever the feels for this amazing character hit me again. It's one of the few characters that remained relevant to me even after months of reading the book or watching the drama. Thank you for this video.
