Considering what Wei Wuxian had gone through, it was so sad for me to see those scenes. Many people appreciated him but the people who truly loved him were really few, and he lost most of them. Lan zhan was the only one who stayed. He was indeed a true soulmate. And yes, he was enough

So true. He lost so many people, it's insane if you think about it: first, his blood parents, then his adoptive parents, then his found family (the Wens), and then his brother-in-law and his sister, not to mention all the people who he thought he lost as a result of those deaths. Plus the whole cultivation world was against him. It would break even the strongest person, and WWX is one of the most resilient people out there. One more reason to love this boy/man even more, he deserves all the love.

@@user-vl4ds9wq9j Gosh, yes. Because of that it was even more heartwrenching to see him pretend to be his old self until he couldn't any more. All this pain and suffering finally came to the surface and still just a handful of people cared (the Wens, Yanli, Lan Zhan). Even now it makes me tear up just thinking about it...

I love the fact that when Wei Ying was at his most powerful and people envied him Lan Zhan was the only one worried and against it and then when Wei Ying was at his weakest and the whole world against him, Lnn Zhan was the only one there to support and cherish him

They don’t do sexual stuff and yet you can feel the love in the air like there chemistry is no joke , I will never get over this beautiful drama .

I actually like the series more than the novel, because there isn't any sexual stuff. In the series you can still feel the love. Love isn't only about sex. The series doesn't show their attraction for each other bodies or gender, but in the personality. They love each other no matter what and it isn't about sex. It's so beautiful and I always start crying while thinking about that. I love them!!!!:3

2023 is about to end but I'm still stuck in 2019. It's been 4 years my Wei Ying and Lan Zhan and I'm still missing you everyday. I hope you're doing well in your own universe.

This is an actual masterpiece. This is the first time I've watched a Chinese drama, and this is honestly so much better than most Western movies. And yet people say that shitty movies like "After" show true love. This drama (and novel) conveys so much more than numerous well-known books, more people should know about it. I hope that someday I find a book that will live up to this standard.

@@sagetucker5558 idk if my answer will be accurate but this is what I personally know from what I've gathered , 1- they go to cloud recesses in the first half bc cloud recesses has invited young disciples from all these clans to educate them or give them classes on right techniques of cultivation and upright behaviour just like later wen clan does later on but for devious hostage reasons as well , 2- Wei ying probably doesn't wear the same colours bc he is after all adopted and is also a rebel at heart lol maybe also bc of madam Jiang he wants to maintain a boundary by not wearing the same clothes, but it can be noticed that after burning of lotus pier he wears the purple Jiang belt to commemorate the clan's death, 3- It's a fictional thing ofcourse, using inner chi or power and cultivating it within to maximize your golden core through vigorous training , if you have watched anime like Hunter X Hunter it's similar to nen power , and in contrast to spiritual chi there is demonic cultivation, using resentful/negative energy of the dead and directing that energy according to your will

The micro expressions of Wang Yibo are so on point. Every one mentions XZ acting but WY had no lines but still had to convery all emotions.. Kudos for pulling that off at such a young age..

The movie did not have extra "purpose romantic scenes" but we still can feel the romantic and the love by the look at each other between Lan Zhan and Wei Ying. We feel the love, the care and painful of Lan Zhan for waiting 16 years by just the way he stood next to Wei Ying.

I know I'm late but seeing the comments ,comforts me. I hope the fandom are still active. I'm still in the middle of accepting that I cannot get over with this series/story. What a Godly experience.

Thats the whole story, they probably just have a few extras they haven't translated or uploaded. This site is really well versed in eng trans as well, so grammatically it's an easy as well as understandable read. Have fun!

Six months ago this was the first edit I saw about them and also my favorite. I didn't believe in "The Untamed Syndrome" I heard so much about, but now I can't turn this page. Actually I don't want to get over it, because it wasn't just a series, but an experience that taught me that love is in the smallest details. It doesn't matter how much I re-watch, it will always be like the first time.

The novel is the worst, make me cry so much at how wei ying silently sacrifice himself without saying anything and only Lan Zhan trust him completely.

This is just an adaptation, I haven't really watched it yet, but the anime is officially a danmei, a bl love story. i'm guessing it's because of censorship that they dont officially make the adaptation bl. but it is a love story, and i think the anime does it much better justice. go watch it the name is "Mo Dao Zu Shi". it's really funny how there's not a single kiss or sex scene of any sort in it and yet it delivers one of the most powerful bl drama's of all time. This story made me cry and i RARELY get that kind of feeling when im watching bl.

i like the writers were literally playing with fire. they made the couple stand at the line and walk it like a tightrope, smudging it but not so obviously that the censorship know they've crossed the line. in the end one doesn't need namjoons iq to understand that even after all these indirect clues.

@@officialsummyc It's open-ended in the sense that you don't get to SEE them, like, get married and bang each other day and night (like in the novel), but if you think about a little I think most viewers would agree it was a happy ending and we can assume that they did get together. It's hard to explain but when you watch it you'll see.

The only show with so much sexual tension with no act on it

Who can not move over this drama like me? Who watches the untamed fmv s whenever feel empty and sleeps with wangxian cd drama ? Who is still here?

It may be an unpopular opinion but i prefer the series to the book. The way they had to avoid all physical explicit contact made the cast focus more on the emotional aspect of their relationship. There is no kiss, not even a real hug or something. But their expressions, their subtle gestures....they convey al the love and devotion these two characters have for each others. The level of chemistry of the two actors is incredible and they really portraied the characters in the best way possible. To be able to express this kind of bond and love without the possibility to rely on physical contact is indeed incredible

Tbh I'm not even sure which adapation or version of this pair is my favourite, because they're all different with different types of love being portrayed each time and yet you can still feel their unconditional devotion and love in every one of them and I think that is beautiful

Agreed! I loved how wwx is more emotionally tuned to wangji and how wangjis love is subtle but so passionate and calm. Nothing aggressive or forceful from both side for eachother

In case some of you don't know, Untamed was based on the Book, Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. In the said book they are officially in a romantic relationship so if you're looking for more of that kinda relationship between Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian than I'd suggest checking it out and the Manga adaption, Mo Dao Zu Shi which also shows more romantic scenes between them though disclaimer the Manga or at least the one I found has 18+ scenes in it. The Reason Untamed & The Anime, Mo Dao Zu Shi have more of a Bromance is so it would be allowed on Chinese broadcasting since there are/were rules against it. If any of this Info is wrong or you wish to add more, feel free to comment about it so I may correct/add to it~

It's 2023 and I still can't shake this drama

i’m honestly still in awe after finishing this a few days ago bc .. i haven’t seen such a well written love story on film maybe.. ever? especially one embedded in such an incredible epic. their chemistry; wang yibo’s micro expressions and the intensity of his acting no matter how subtle; the way they communicate their growing love for each other, the pain in lz’s face and voice when wwx drops off the cliff - the moments of humour; the hope and joy in lan zhan’s face when wwx returns; the fierceness with which lz protects wwx; the smiles and laughter and freedom you see running wild in wwx when he’s with lz - the agony of him losing his mind and the love of his life, too; all of it is just woven in a way that i think you can only fully appreciate once you’ve digested and stepped away from it, and i’m so grateful i found it

The Untamed is honestly the best Chinese show.

Eventhough everyone say that Lan Zhan waited for Wei ying 13 years but how can you say he waited? He knew he wouldn't come back from the death cause he choose it for himself. Lan zhan inquired just to know if his wei ying is finally at peace or not. Maybe he wanted to confess. More than waiting he did was longing for his love. He regretted his every memory that he didn't stand beside wei ying. He was punishing himself for not trusting his soulmate.

Because of this edit being recommended to me almost 5 years ago I became a fan of The Untamed, no regrets😭😭😭😭♥️

The actors are so beautiful honestly.

Every time I watch these videos and it brings me back to The untamed I have to admire Wang Yibo as Lan Zhan.❤ Not that others wouldn't be also good, but Yibo is in this drama absolutely devine, and it is also because of the costume. He is like big diamond among amethysts (Zhan is of course at least emerald😁). He managed to portray the uniquenes of Lan Zhan's character and his purity and perfection, which are almost on the level of otherworldliness. This was easily absolute masterpiece. 🙏🙏🙏

ever since i finished watching the untamed it haven't left my mind for a second, especially wangxian. i can not move on, no matter how much i try to, this has never happened to me before after watching a drama. sometimes i wish i could erase my memory and experience it all over again, all those feelings i felt while watching it. now that i finished it i feel kind of empty. this drama is definitely going to stay with me for the rest of my life, and i will definitely rewatch it again and again and again, because i will never get tired of it. this drama has ruined my life, but in a good way :')

"The Untamed" is the only good memory of Quarantine ♥️ and I'm gonna recommend this drama to my child also & I truly believe that he/she will love this as the way I'm...!!!!

The chemistry was on point. you missed the scene when they looked at each other at the banquet of nightless city after the sunshot campaign. I'm reading the novel. I wish I knew the novel before the show.

@@dbrown9385I watched CQL first, and I think it helped me a lot in remembering all the characters and understanding the timeline; also getting the full version of the story after the censored one probably feels more gratifying than the other way around. But there are people who recommend reading the novel first... idk xD

This series has set the bar so high, only a sequel can come to par with it. Every tiny thing of this drama is magnificent..

Have watched and rewatched the series like so so many times. The chemistry is amazing! Tops any romantic movie. The subtle hints and the love is in the air attitude,my goodness! Man, I would love for them to get together in real. Wishful thinking,I know! But damn! The creators are one courageous bunch. To create something so beautiful, without even a kissing scene or even an intimate hug. God! Hats off! Words seems incomplete. And happy to see IMDb seeing the same with the rating crossing 9 pointer.

This is late, but they are a canon married couple in the novel, manhua (comic) and audio drama and censored but strongly implied in the donghua (animation)

I have heard a lot about this drama but I didn't think it would be this beautiful, I think I found a new addiction. They are born soulmates

I am not planning to get over this - it has made me so happy. It's a rare love story between two unforgettable characters that remained steadfast to their creed and intensely loyal to each other. I will be rooting for them forever.

Even Its been 2years I can't get over this drama. This is my most fav drama of all time. We can feel the romance between lanzhan and weiying through their eyes itself. There is no need for words to describe their romance their eye contact itself more enough

Even if Wei Ying did not believe in himself to the point of taking his own life, Lan Zhan believed in him to the very end. The depth and breadth of his love can not be measured so much so that for him, Wei Ying was worth fighting for and living for. But despite of his 16 years of longing and fear of losing him again, he let go of Wei Ying at the end because he is not sure if Wei Ying really loves him (in the drama, not in the novel). He wanted him to decide and comeback to him on his own accord which Wei Ying did. The song lead him to identify Wei Ying and that same song Wei Ying used to confirm his love for him at the ending scene. Four years have passed, but truly, this drama is unforgettable. It will forever remain in my heart. 💚💚💚❤❤❤

Indeed. Even though many fans were and still not convinced about the end of the drama, l think Lan Zhan leave the decision to Wei Ying cause he certainly knows he cant hide him in the cloud recesses as his father did. Also it defines how love and affection is a part of our life while the responsibilities are duties. At the end flute song reassure the feelings of both sides and its like a invitation from Wei ying to Lan zhan for their life long journey.

@@nonga56 In live adaptation, they stuck at "more than friends, less than lovers" level despite both of them clearly have romantic love feelings for each other. There's no "bromance" (which is a platonic term) in the live adaptation here, only implicit/subtle romance. Also, the ending is open ending to leave the possibility of them taking the next step of their relationship.

Hey just for my LOVE for this drama, I want to say that this is a confirmed BL love story, the drama "the untamed" is an adaptation of "Mo Dao Zu Shi", a chinese danmei. meaning BL story anime, I dont know how well the drama is in the untamed, because i havent watched it honestly, but if you really love this story you NEED to see the danmei. It has SUCH A POWERFUL MESSAGE, and the tension between the characters, and how you can see the love they have for one another, without ever saying it or kissing or anything of the sorts. This is a masterpiece as it proves love is not physical. movies and tv shows don't need to rub it in your face for you to see characters r in love. please watch the danmei.

Well deserved all the praises this drama received around the world. A year on and it still amazes me how beautiful and talented these people are😌😊
