It must have been really hard on Lan Zhang to be without Wei for 16 years! All quiet, no special attention by anyone else, just a daily routine of rules to follow. Wei was his fresh air; gave him a reason to experience life outside the clan life. Wei coming back into his life unexpectedly, Lan was not going to leave his smart, handsome, good- hearted, charismatic & loving Wei’s side ever again. Lan made his decision no matter who was against Wei. Love this drama period.

Lan Zhan devoted himself to raising Yuan like a father for all those years as well. They never said it but I think Nie let him know what Meng Yao was up to and that Wei was not at fault for things that happened. I don’t think he knew Mo but he wasn’t completely in the dark all those years.

After stabbing his long lost uncle, you can sense the guilt and regret he had for doing something like that. Why? Because he comes to realize that the Wei Wuxian he knows from the stories is different from the Wei Wuxian that took care of him these past few weeks during night hunts with the Juniors. The Wei Wuxian he was told about was a monster, while the Wei Wuxian he has come to be close to is nothing but kind, caring, loving, and _human_. And he is torn because, on one hand, this man is to be blamed for the death of his father and ultimately his mother. On the other, this man had been so good to him despite their bantering and bickering. So what does he do now?

What I hate about Jiang cheng, fed his nephew lies, he should tell Jin ling good things about him, they are still brothers and he knows the truth. He just watch Wei ying suffer and wounded. I know he loves wei ying but he also owes Wen ning because The Wen siblings saved him as well. When Wen qing died I wish see him cry for her because he also loves her.

@@iamtamadtv6018 it wasn’t Jiang Cheng tho. Jin Ling grew up in the Jin sect-why else would he believe those lies? Jiang Cheng has no backbone in terms of defending Wei but I don’t believe he would even teach Jin Ling lies. Sure, he hates people who practice demonic cultivation but I think it’s more like he doesn’t want more accidents to happen like with what happened to his brother.

Anyone else adore Suibian just because it’s so damn loyal to wwx? I mean sure, it outted him among a bunch of hostile cultivators but damn, it’s sealed itself for his sake too, despite them not having had long together. None of the rest of the swords of his peers did this!

I mean Suibian shouldn't have unsheathed itself bc he traded his golden core out with Jiang Cheng meaning he can also do it so it shouldn't have considering the sword does it depending on the golden core. That's also why when it happened Wei Wuxian was surprised bc he didn't have his golden core so it shouldn't have unsheathed it unless I'm wrong idk.

@@amiyuhhh1369 my Chinese friend explained it to me this way. The swords are, in lore, semi sentient, and they connect not just with the core but also the person. That’s why the sword can be confused when jc unsheathes it but also still unsheathe with wwx, it’s originally intended person it sheathed for.

I will never stop crying about this show 2 things First, wei ying did nothing wrong but he was so sad about his sister going he just accepted and took all the blame, even if he was misunderstood and hated Even when he was abandoned in the land of death, he came back to take revenge Even tho he was hated by his brother who lived because of Wei’s donated core, he didn’t say a word but continued to be misunderstood and hates. He was such a great person Second, Lan Zhan trusted him No matter what, even when he was skeptical, he trusted him This show is something else, every scene is a tear jerker

Untamed is the longest drama I've ever watched in my life , episode wise and length of each episode is sometimes above one hour but somehow this is the only drama I've watched full season three times . I don't know how and why but I love this show so much.

I think what was really sad is that UT didn't write a small part for them to bond. But, in the anime they kinda bonded together afterward. Wei taught him something about life.

What wei said about LZ's actions is the definition of a true companion. A person who keeps you grounded and doesn't back down from speaking the truth your sake when the rest of the world is busy trying to stroke your ego but stands by you against that same world when everyone turns against you is someone rare. If anyone finds a person like that they should never let go as having that person is a privilege and a gift.

At 5:00... Babes if i woke up and saw someone draped completely in white, sorrounded by such a peaceful atmosphere and looking this damn gorgeous...I'd just believe I'm dead and in heaven...😂

Lan Zhan, he spoke so little, yet he said everything with his eyes and actions. As is his name, his love for his soulmate is unsullied and beyond question. Even Wei Wuxian could never realise the depth of his love until he was brought to life again. Love is such a deep thing. It's difficult to understand the depth of love. This series through a variety of characters have described love and friendship in such heightened forms, that even the antagonists have earned love. Wish every director is similarly sensible when it comes to portraying human emotions and love. And the cast of the story, each and every one have done a commendable job. It's not these two, but the whole team that have made it a success. No kissing scenes, no sex, and yet love oozes in brilliant different ways from every episode. Be it between soulmates, be it between brothers and sister, be it between friends, be it the silent love of Wen Quin( hope I spelt the name correctly) or between a thankful loyal man towards his saviour, or a little child and a man, everything is so magical about the story. ❤️

I just want to know if you know that the way they portraited that love with no kisses or sex scene, is because the heavy censorship there's in the country that prohibits to display any explicit scene of gay affection? And by explicit I mean even the smallest kiss. It is commendable from the staff that tried their best to be true to the source material but also reprehensible to the country that they censor queer content to be truly represented. I don't need sex scenes or anything like that but I do recognize that the subtle way they show manage to display their love is fruit of their heavy restrictions and homophobic censorship.

I love the fact that Jing Ling was protective of Wei Ying even before he knew who he really was. Like when he didn’t want him to do the empathy thing at Coffin Town, helped him to escape from Jiang Cheng and also at Carp Tower.

The portrayal of every character is on point, we can sense the emotions of the character from their aura and eyes. Yes that's the victory of the crew

This show brings a kind of comfort to all of us precisely because of the feelings each of these characters felt towards each other. There is decentness in how they treat each other and a level of caring for the other person along with disdain towards particularly unhappy characters. I think we all saw something salvageable in most of the characters, good or evil. This drama was able to capture those sentiments through superb acting. The directors and producers were able to bring the best out of these actors which is not an easy feat. I have seen many shows but have never been so affected.

I wish that Wei Ying had been like “nah nah nah, you’ve got it wrong, people besides Wei wuxian can totally unsheath it. Here, sect leader Jiang, you try!” And of course Jiang Cheng CAN unsheath Suiban, and nobody would make the conclusion that Jiang Cheng is Wei Wuxian, and because Jiang Cheng is an EXPERT in denial, he’d be unlikely to draw the golden core swap conclusion. I know it’d be kind of crack-y, so I totally understand why they didn’t do it, but it would have been funny

From an interview I saw they said they both lost a lot of weight because of a combination of very busy shooting schedule, stress, the heat where they were filming, and just not having the time to eat well. And yes 😂 just gets stabbed and he is like “you ok bruh” 😒🤦‍♀️

@@ark_q It can make things rather questionable though. I recall the translation of yifu in Word of Honor being given as 'father', which put a whole new level of ick on an already icky relationship. When catering to a western audience, they could have at least used Godfather - whilst not the correct translation, gives a clearer view and idea of the actual relationship between 'father' and 'son'. I wonder if that case was laziness, or a deliberate choice to make the relationship appear more scandalous to the western viewer.

Because of censorship in this series they are “brothers/best friends”, but the novel series is ummm... very much showing how much they are not “just friends” 🤭😂

That’s Wei Ying all right. He’s not angry at Jin Ling, but the place where the sword was stabbed. It’s funny and sad at the same time. Knowing Jing Ling have no where to vent under so much stress. Wei Ying had never blame Jin Ling, but himself. Same with Wen Ning, Wen Ning blamed himself for killing Jin Ling’s father and implicated Wei Ying. Wei Ying are one of the most self-less, sympathetic character, more than others in the novel. Wei Ying just follow what his favorite Uncle Jian taught him. ‘Justice must be upheld’, in another words, protect the innocents no matters what. Second, would be Jin Ling’s mom Jian YanLin. Others are sympathetic but they follow their own clan’s principles first.

You just know he is thinking “I’m going to lose him again.”

Even when zhan was the one annoyed at him at first, he grew to love him 😭😭

@@Kt-cn2rq he didn’t know the truth here yet-but he knows there’s more to this. He feels guilty because the Wei Wuxian that people talk about is different from the Wei Wuxian that he knows. The Wei Wuxian Jin Ling knows is kind, and selfless. He’s weird in a sense that he would scold you and coddle you all at once. He’s bold and fearless, willing to put everyone else first before himself. While the Wei Wuxian that Jin Guangyao wants people to see is a monster.

I want to see the incense burner scene

I'm a C drama and K drama enthusiast but for some reason I hadn't watched this one. Ran into it on both Viki and Netflix. Oh my goodness, I truly loved every episode over the last couple months. I researched more about current and former Chinese laws; I always learn more when watching Asian shows. This one is really one I watch over now. I did find the special edition 20 episode release on KZread. So excited for that. I'm currently searching anything on finding the original novel with a possible English translation. This is one of a few I'm adding to blu ray to keep. Just amazing. I only was disappointed at the parting in the last episode until I learned the novel ending and the alternate one.

@@ktgirl-oh9px Oh I know, there is little tolerance for other lifestyles there I guess. I know the book tells a different story but the two actors pulled off the intimation successfully to comply with the laws. However, this drama, doesn't in any way make the two actors truly partners in real life. I am watching Oath Of Love and Zhan looks at Yang Zi with such wonderful love, BUT it's all acting.

This still makes me cry, They all 3 were so hurt😢😞😭

I just noticed jin ling is standing to the side of them but stabs him from the front😂
