Danielle, I had to stop this video for a minute to let you know that of all the garden channels I watch, your garden is probably my favorite. Why? I think it’s more than a lovely garden. it’s more than “just” beautiful plants and shrubs. What’s missing from some KZread gardens is what yours has in abundance. Heart. I can feel myself walking with you every Saturday. Thank you. ❤

Danielle, I'm a 73 yr old man, life long Gardner , taught by my grandma and grandfather. My grandmother taught me about flowers and my grandfather being a carpenter for the railroad for 40 yrs , laid out his vegetable gardens to the square inch. To understand their differences my grandma always said" she found flowers can grow in a crooked row, 😊. Wanted you to know how much I enjoy your channel and your remembrances, and heirlooms.

In life we talk about soul and that is what I think is in abundance in your garden. That is what sets your garden apart from others and invites us to return again and again to witness and absorb that soul. Perhaps it is grace. Or respect for the past and the people who have influenced and loved you. But whatever name you attach to it, it is special, breath taking, meaningful and a moment in time where for that moment, time stands still and we find ourselves communing with all of the beauty around us.

Danielle, good on you for cardboard mulching the area to the right of your library. It actually widens your view point and as well as removing extra lawn, it just looks so natural. I think what you are doing by reducing the maintenance and planning things out, for your large garden rooms is an excellent plan. As we age, we need to make everything more enjoyable and less of a chore, don't you think? I've never seen your gardens so beautiful and restful at the moment. You've done so well!😊jo.

I am so loving your garden tours dear Danielle as your videos are always not only beautiful but also informative. I am amazed at how you guys in the USA are jumping straight from Spring into Summer with plants that we wouldn't expect to see blooming in our London gardens until mid June. I do understand your frustration at only enjoying late flowering Tulips for just a few days and you may consider an alternative for next Spring. I love that your pretty flower bouquets are selling like croissants in a Parisian boulangerie 😃💚

Oh and I agree about stopping at mid-late tulips for here in the Lehigh Valley, PA area too, my late ones just didn't have enough time to shine this year...the mid-late ones under my maple tree were the sweet spot for late color and lifespan (Hakuun did the best this year!)

I got aphids for the first time last year on my snowball viburnums that were about 5 years old. Living in Montana though they don't bloom until June, and I think the aphids came afterward. I have purple irises throughout my flower garden that I have split several times. Since I’ve don’t that, they are now white and no longer the deep purple that I had originally bought. I’m ok with it as this year there was a large outburst of blooms from them and it looked gorgeous. Hope this helps on possibly solving your white iris. Hugs and love from Texas!

Your garden exemplifies the benefits of using swaths of same colors and/or plants. So restful. That touch of orange geum among the purple hues is breathtaking. I have just one 'Tempo Rose' geum, but plan to get a couple more to go around my Chinese viburnum (which is only a year in the ground so I can't speak to aphids, but its just at that chartreuse color stage I love). Surprise tulips. I had some make an appearance after many years absence. I might have planted them 15 years ago and they eventually stopped appearing. Maybe they needed a break. If that's true (I hope so) then in about ten years I'll be rewarded with an explosion of color. This year, the strip I thickly planted "shoulder to shoulder" about 3 years ago only produced about 4 blooms. Meanwhile, the white daffodils just keep naturalizing into thick patches and I love them. Last night, I picked up a 'Charles Joly' lilac that I'll plant today (it's treasured for its pleasantly strong fragrance) and maybe a BR rose. I prefer lilac scent over bloom vase life. 👃🏼 Smmh! 👃🏼

I love these weekly garden tours, so tranquil & to know what blooms when. I'm in the midst of transforming my antique rose garden to mostly perennials & your tip about repetition is extremely timely. I was wondering if combining the 4 raised beds immediately in front of your garden shed, to 2 large beds (allowing for a wider central path,) would solve your problem of matching the path width of the front 2. You'd end up with 2 wider raised beds, but would save a lot of time, energy & materials. Just a thought...

Your story about the "handyman special farmette" is interesting and makes me wonder why the previous owner would have done that to the electrical. It is amazing that you don't need any additional irrigation in your garden because of all the rain you all receive. I live in the south, and I don't use drip irrigation, but at times we have to use a tripod sprinkler to keep things from drying out in the flower and vegetable gardens. May is one of my favorite times in my garden too. Also, I have the same wall sconces that you have, but mine are in my den! Your tour is so lovely!
