Hello everyone. I don't normally comment but this brought tears to my eyes. My beloved husband also passed away on 23 April, 2024. So this episode was very poignant. Especially when she said, "Peter said "I'm really sorry that I have to leave you after 50 years ." " My husband passed away on our 36th wedding anniversary. He was an architect and I love my home and garden as it is a constant reminder of his intelligence and love for our family design. Thank you Alison for knocking on the door of Maryly's house and inviting us into her home and garden. I learned so much and loved her gentle disposition and love for their beautiful life and home. I think I saw a hummingbird in the background at about 28:13??? Not sure as we do not have any in our area. Love from sunny Sydney, Australia.

@@celestialgardens4380 San Diego really went downhill. That’s a shame. Homeless everywhere. Now, fast food restaurants closing. I live along the foothills. 30 miles east of Pasadena. So far, it hasn’t hit here. I say, “When my CVS has everything locked up, it’s time to move.”. My older daughter is selling her 900 sq ft condo in Fullerton and moving to Lubbock. Young people should leave. We are in decline, however, it’s a beautiful place if it’s not a city.

Love the woman and her beautiful garden and home. Gardens are such a sanctuary, and hopefully this one gives her much peace. I love Coronado. I have a treasured silver teapot from the downstairs shop at the Hotel Del, which I got when my sons ship came home into Coronado from the war. I will never forget that day. That front garden bed ,with the white picket fence ,is the perfect cottage feel. So beautiful. The white arbor and the large terra cotta pots are pure charm. Her gorgeous rose collection is incredible. So many things I relate to. Born and raised and grew up in the Bay Area . My first apartment was $105.00 a month in 1968 too!!!! When I tell my grand kids, they can't believe it. Just love everything about her, her story, her home and garden. I know it must be so hard being there without Peter. But I am sure the memories and his spirit are there everyday. The magic lives.

I absolutely loved this tour and it had special meaning to me. Maryly is living my dream. I grew up in San Diego county and my mother would often drive us to Coronado to sunbathe on the beach. We'd stop and get Charburger's and then enjoy them on the sand looking out to sea. I often daydreamed about the beautiful estates across the street. Coronado would be my dream place to live. Maryly's gardens are Spectacular. The best I've ever seen. My mother's friend, her gardens, made it in Better Homes and Gardens, but Maryly's are even more beautiful than hers. The Dahlias are phenomenal. Her home is beautiful too. I enjoy collecting shells and minerals/rocks as well. I'm so very sorry for her loss of Peter. Losing one's soulmate is one of the hardest things to endure. I felt her pain and it brought tears to my eyes. This video is a wonderful tribute to Peter and his legacy and to the life that they shared. The family photos are priceless. I wouldn't say there isn't any crime in Coronado though. Anyone who steals flowers from Maryly's beautiful gardens are committing a crime. Shame on them.🏵🌼🌺🌻🥀💮🏵🌸🌹💮🏵🌷

Just ask her you can tell she is so passionate about her garden and I thinks it’s impolite to just cut flowers without asking her plus she seem so kind anyway her home and garden is beautiful

I LOVE how everything about this lovely woman, even down to how her home and backyard are updated and designed revolves around her family . This is a woman and home worth celebrating. I imagine she and her husband had the means to have moved and upsized to any home they chose through the years but decided to stay in this charming home for 50+ years - sounds like they both knew what was important in life, and it absolutely radiates from this home. The gardens are the icing on this stunning cake! Wishing Maryly peace through her grief and thanks for sharing her home.

I love this episode so much. I grew up in San Diego in the 1950s and 60s- and this is the old Southern California architecture I knew back then, before people bulldozed the old shingle beach houses and built ugly Mc Mansions. We would take the car ferry from Downtown San Diego to Coronado before the bridge was built! As a teen I did modelling for an art school in Coronado- the school owner/instructor was Welsh. I now live in the UK and can say that Maryly has created a perfect English cottage garden, and the poolside garden is the epitome of the quintessential Southern California garden- the best of both worlds- what a lovely person - thank you for this tour. 🥀🌻💮🥬💚💚🥬

This is the best Home worthy video so far and I have watched all the videos every week and this is definitely the Best one so far HOME WORTHY. What a beautiful , sweet lady not pretentious at all just like the most the videos we see weekly I know all that area used to live in SanDiego and Coronado is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Wonderful memories . Thank you for showing us your magnificent gardens flowers and home. I am really missing San Diego after watching this piece of art home. 🙏🌿. . Wish the videos were more spontaneous just like this one more organic with a little more simplicity and not over curated like most of them. After all that is we want to see right? Thank you again beautiful lady 💕🩷

Thank you beyond words, but I'll try - worked as a legal secretary 30 years in San Diego - have such admiration for the brilliant and kind lawyers I met in such firms as Shifflet Walters, McCormick Royce, etc., considering it always a great honor to have worked with them and for them. Your husband, I"m sure, was one of the great ones as you are a testament to a deep abiding love - your kindness in sharing your glorious home makes me filled with tears of joy!
