Answer this question for me for all the silicone lovers out there If you have a tub and it is tiled and you listen to people who use Silicone, which I do not ,silicone has no use in a shower except on a frameless door. The silicone come up of the past 10 years or so, has came on a nowhere and for only reasons that I can assume money and speed. And that's probably also why almost all grouts come rapid setting now, which is ridiculous for speed. So people can get stuff done faster and make more money. But the problem is they're not tiling correctly 90% of the time. How do you suppose if you silicone, where the tub meets the first row of tile? How do you suppose the water's gonna get out of there?............ It's also when you're talking about fluorescents in a shower bed. 90% of the time, it's because it's not waterproof properly and is holding water. The whole shower was most likely built wrong.
