WEATHER PREP FOR PRIVATE PILOT CHECKRIDE

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Flight instructors and students wanted a video that would teach weather prep for the private pilot practical. This video explains some of the most important parts of aviation weather. If you're a student, this will help with your checkride. If you're a veteran, you can use this video as a refresher. If you're an instructor, please feel free to share and use with your students. My goal is to help improve the safety of general aviation through education. #checkride #aviationweather #meteorology #private pilot #weather #jpdice

For two years I’ve taken courses, read everything I could find, watched everything I could find as I train for my PPL and this is the best video I’ve found on the weather aspects. You’ve covered 3 Sporty’s videos in one simple and easy to follow video. Nice work.

One question I have is what answer to give the DPE when he/she asks, "where did you get your weather briefing?" and my answer is "ForeFlight". I suppose I should list the official sources used by FF.

More than, or at least in addition to, baud rate, METAR is coded so that it can be more easily understood by automated systems. People can learn to read coded information, but computers until VERY recently have always had a lot of trouble reading "plain english"
