everything he said about techschool is 100% true. i was at keesler during covid so it was a lot more restrictive. we couldn’t even drive around on base and we had to stay in the triangle. fun times

Hey Kyle thanks again for this interview! And to the comments: I will admit that my opinion on this AFSC is a little bias but nonetheless, the military is what you make out of it! If you get stuck with a job you don’t like or didn’t want, you’re gonna have to change your attitude because the job you have won’t change.(unless you re-train). Point I’m making here is to learn how to look at whatever opportunity is given to you in a responsible, mature way because that’s how the military looks at you. Stay breezy 🤙🏾

Father was a weather guy for 30 years. sowt and jsoc during the 90s early 2000s. Lots of cool opportunities for swo I think.

Boy does this get me excited... 😒😂 I understand that life is what you make of it, but still... Besides, at MEPS I failed the color vision test. By a single point. Recruiter won’t let me go retake it or get a waiver. (“Nah man, it’s just a lot of work that in the end won’t be worth it for you or me.”) I can see color fine. And for this job, looking at forecasts and such, shouldn’t I be “100%” good on color vision? 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

Arjay Canon I’d love some info on the AFSC. Can the job potentially set you up to be a Weather forecaster in the civilian world? (Like a local news station) I have a Bachelors in Communications so I already have the journalism side down.

Kyle you should do a video about which job is hardest and easiest to take leave on a regular bases. Like for example security forces vs mechanical. Or cyber security vs weather?????...

Cyber Transport is definitely not easy, hence why he didn’t make it. It’s more than IT, IT is Client Systems.

If you don’t want to be at a desk constantly, Army Support is the way. You’ll be in the field and deploy more often as you will also make special duty assignment pay up to an extra $225 every month and can even have the opportunity to go airborne or do air assault which I believe is additional incentive pay.

When you say weather technicians can be stationed anywhere, does that mean any base with aircraft? I've been trying to figure out where 1W0X1s can go, and the internet is pretty silent except to say that there are weather hubs that forecast for many bases. Would a small ANG base have a weather flight?

Beaguins weather can be stationed at every Air Force base there is to offer in the world. You can also be stationed at some army bases to do army support

The beach and water have never really been cleaned up after Hurricane Katrina. Still pollution and gunk in the water, plus trash and needles on the beach.

Sprints. 30 min - 45 min. minute intervals, 2-3 times a week. Take rest days in between.

I wouldn’t worry about it. My mile n half time when I went to basic was at 18:50. At the end of basic when I took the test I ran a 12:45. Believe me bro it’s gonna alright, you’re gonna pass that fitness test

Ask your supervisor. There is a list of out going and incoming afscs online. Your leadership should know more about it..

Just don’t do crew chief that’s the worst job. Do 20 years in pest control. At my base they literally only work 3 days a week and still get the full pay at everyone else gets

Do it! Do not put your life on hold. Take control and go get what you want in life. Enlistment is much easier without any past medical history. So if you're clear there it should all go smoothly.

Do it! After you four year contract if you decide that you want to do something else then you come out winning. You get skills that will help you for the rest of your life and most importantly, you will not have to live with that regret. I’m making 27 and I’m heading to basic on August 6th. The only regret that I have is that I should have done it sooner.
