The Boston cream doughnut was designated the official doughnut of Massachusetts in 2003! However Massachusetts wasn't the first state to designate a state donut as in 1986, Louisiana designated the beignet as their state donut (Louisiana beignets are different from French beignets in that the beignets in France are made from choux pastry, while those from the Big Easy are made from leavened dough that's cut into squares and fried until crispy on the outside and airy within). Meanwhile, the Boston cream pie itself was chosen as MA's state dessert in 1996. The Boston cream pie was created in 1856 by Armenian-French chef Mossburg Sanzian at the Parker House Hotel in Boston. Established in 1855, the Parker House was the brainchild of Harvey D. Parker. A Maine native, Parker moved to Boston as a young adult with barely a penny to his name. He worked a number of jobs before establishing himself as a restaurateur and then opening the grand hotel, according to History of Massachusetts. The Parker House was the first hotel in the U.S. to adopt the "European plan," meaning guests paid for dining and lodging separately.

I have an old Snapchat video saved of me getting off the Amtrak at Back Bay station when I was moving to Boston and then immediately seeing the two Dunkin's directly across from each other. If you still need to know the location, it was truly directly across the room. You guys went to the one next to the Tasty Burger entrance if I interpreted the shakey cam correctly, the other Dunkin was on the other side of the stairs to the Orange Line, so looking from left to right while standing at the top of the orange line stairs while facing the street it would go Dunkin in the waiting room->Tasty Burger->Main Entrance->Dunkin in a little stall

If you have traveled through 30th St. Station in Philadelphia recently, you will notice that the (mostly non-existent) food court is closed for renovations. The only thing to have remained is the Dunkin'... they were moved out into the main area in the corner. The donuts are still old, and the service is not very good. They are the only game in the station so you are stuck. In their old location they had a back work area where they could hide the carts of product that was delivered, who knows when. Now they just line them up at the end of the counter.

With that North Pole train just sitting on the bench...it looks like Wile E. Coyote has moved on from the Road Runner and is now trying to target foamers! 😂 I didn't expect an April Fool's video to be filled with such deep Miles lore! That donut story from preschool was wild! Miles is a man of many tastes....plain raisin bagels, French toast, and cherry tomatoes (the latter I learned in the premiere chat of Stormy's hot dog adventure). The best bagel I've ever had was at Wonder Bagels in Jersey City. They're a chain now, but their original location in downtown JC was near my old middle school so I used to frequent it. Here's the Dunkin' lore: Dunkin' Donuts was founded by William Rosenberg in Quincy, MA in 1950. At first, Bill Rosenberg opened Open Kettle in 1948 but he changed the name to Dunkin' Donuts two years later after an Executive Architect came up with the name, inspired by dunking donuts into coffee. Rosenberg sold franchises to others starting in 1955. But the story gets even more interesting as in 1955, Bill worked with his brother-in-law Harry Winokur. After Winokur broke his partnership with Rosenberg, he went on to create Mister Donut with his son-in-law David Slater that same year. This became so successful that they too started franchising, and after International Multifoods Corporation bought Mister Donut in 1970, they opened locations outside North America like in Japan, and today Mister Donut is one of the most popular brands in Japan. However, after Dunkin' was acquired in 1990 by Allied Lyons, Dunkin' acquired Mister Donut and took over the Mister Donut locations in North America, which is why they Mister Donut is still around in Asia. In 2020, Dunkin', Baskin-Robbins, and Mister Donut became part of Inspire Brands.

This was funny. It took me a while to realize how much of this was a "shot for shot" remake. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery on both creators parts. I hope it's all in good fun. Things I thought were hilarious: Jakwelline's continued double entendres and "unique" camera work, Miles getting bagels, Petru getting himself in frame then disappearing, this video's description and chapter titles, Christmas train, and all the callbacks to Stormy's video.

I'm old enough to remember when Dunkin's were open 24/7 in a lot of places (night shift cops gotta have somewhere to hang out!). Nobody's got staff to open full hours anymore. Saturday morning I went somewhere in NE Ohio and tried to have breakfast at IHOP where they were supposed to open at 6am (used to be 24/7), and there was nobody there, not even setting up. Had to go to Denny's down the street, where the cashier said she had been on duty since dinner time the evening before. Driving down the Interstate I passed a Bob Evans (another Midwestern/Eastern restaurant specializing in sausage and breakfast), and they were not open yet after 7 am!

I dont know what makes me feel more ill - Miles’ raisin bagel or the shaky, frenetic camera work in this video 🥹 Miles I’m not a donut eater but there are PLENTY of better, non-donut options at Dunkin.. Muffins, Egg & cheese on multigrain bagel or croissant Lattes, coffee, iced coffee Perhaps unpopular opinion but I think their food is better than Starbucks food (and *sometimes* their iced drinks too!) Only thing I really don’t like (besides donuts lol) is their oatmilk in drinks. Hot or cold. Starbucks clearly wins that race.

I tried one of their muffins once and hated it - it had way too much sugar on it!

I don't use cream cheese on my bagel. So leave Miles along! When I do order a bagel i will get it toasted and with butter. If i was getting a donut it would be a vanilla frosted with Jimmies Its a Philadelphia thing

I’ve probably tried ordering from the Harvard dunkin 4 times in the last 5 years and all they’ve had are plain doughnuts.
