yeah, i have been saying the same since we were told he was going to rescue koby. people saying garp is going on a suicide mission. this old man rivaled roger, he is the hero of the marines. sengoku did not only stop garp at marineford because he was a marine but also because he knows what garp wouldve done to akainu. and i hate the fact that people think that garp is not only old and weak but also dumb... yes, he is a little bit like luffy with his carefree mindset as he laughed just as him when the ship was flying but he knows what he is capable off and wouldnt go on this mission if he would 100% lose... yes, blackbeard is reserved for luffy in the end but garp is way to strong for blackbeard just because of his haki. blackbeard is not a fighter and depends on his 2 fruit powers as most big shots have a fruit. hence why Oda made blackbeard not being on the island himself together with aokiji.

People don't realize that there's an actual indicator if a one piece character is past their prime. It's when their hair turn white. Look at sengoku after just two years from marineford, his hair went completely white despite being around garp's age. But Garp's hair is still grey which means he's only a little bit past his prime. On the other hand, big mom's is still on her original hair color despite being very old which means she's still on her prime. Source: trust me bro

With sword getting more screen time we can possibly see more powerful sword members with contradicting them not being at Marineford due to them not having to be at that war. Also this may be setting up Blackbeard coming out on top, If he manages to beat Garp then he becomes more of a contender for shanks and other pirates like Luffy. Hopefully Blackbeard brings out his true power, maybe an awakening or third devil fruit.

We have always known Garp to be the strongest marine since almost the beginning of OP. They are just finally showing him in pseudo-action idk everyone is surprised. Watching the Kaido/Big mom go all out gives us an idea of Garp and other top tiers as well.

I was totally right about it. We did saw a glimpse of how strong Garp is. Once again, I bet we'll finally see a back story of Xebec, after Eustass KidD's return. Punk Rock, sounds crazy but makes sense.

Man , koby character is one of the greatest. Saw him as a little snobby kid. And here he is , getting garp to go all out.

I have a bit of a theory. Devil Fruits were made by willpower and are awakened when the User and the Fruits will becomes strong enough. Haki, especially conquers is the definition of Will power over taking another’s. The entire power system of One Piece is based off willpower and they are interchangeable like a devil fruit’s power can be overridden by Haki, if the user holds more Haki they can Uno reverse the override. That’s how Luffy’s gear 5 rubber transmutations weren’t over ridden by Kaido. It also possibly means Haki and Devil fruits may of been one power system at one point or something like Haki powers the devil fruit. In addition to all of this the will of D. is another big thing and implies that having D. In the name means you have more will power. Luffy and Law are kinda perfect storms, being D. Clan, Haki users, and devil fruit users. Also probably why Law was able to Awaken his fruit in between Zou and Wano, or during Wano at least, he was already good with Haki and naturally good at will power due to D. clan name. Now the one they really terrifies me is Blackbeard. He’s probably just like Luffy, we just haven’t seen Haki use from him because he just uses it to override others haki over ride.

Yeah haki can override ,but once you reach a certain level of haki mastery ,it doesn't matter who have more haki ,it depends upon application . For example devil fruit boosts haki application ,like gear 4 luffy boosts his armament haki coating to a higher degree , similarly of two characters who have same or minor difference in their haki devil fruit would work . Kaido and G5 luffy have same calibre of haki and luffy was able to transmutate kaido . Or vergo who coated himself with armament and was supirior to law by a minor degree was cut by law . In short DF and HAKI boosts each other .

Has anyone noticed that the Marines have space theme to there organization like the galaxy impact, the five elder stars, and Saint Saturn, while the pirates have a god theme like Divined departure, and Luffy having the sun god fruit.

We waited so long even Ash decided to turn 11..

So...is it just me or is Garp doing the true "King Punch". I find it convenient that we're introduced to Don Chin and the clashing of the color of the Supreme King, Sabo using Ryo and the king punch all in one arc. Galaxy Impact seems to be a combination of the three. Also, we first start to get real insight on Garp and how and why he's THE marine. Side note: I would love to find out that Smoker is here too. I mean we see Tashigi on Garp's ship but where is the G-5 battleship? Plus, my boy needs to get a few Ws because he was holding Ls left and right. If he can get his haki to the same level as Vergo he'll really be a beast. Hopefully this battle is bigger than we know is currently going on. Plus, Tashigi can finally use her new powers (monet's show snow fruit) in actual combat making her at least very close to Vice Admirals in strength.

Imagine prime Garp using Galaxy Impact💀💀 that destructive power must have been traumatic for the pirates of his time.

Wouldn't matter. A haymaker punch like that is a knockout punch for a normal person doing that to a normal person. What is crazier is that Garp did it hundreds of feet in the air. No causal side stepping away to avoid the hit. Only future sight might prepare someone for the damage within the blast radius. RIP fodder Black Beard pirates.
