It could be a way to showcase the Holy Knights in full action but after Sabos' infiltration I doubt that they will not have their guard up. And I don't think BB will attempt to conquer Mariejois or "the world" before reaching Laugh Tale. Catarina's mission will simple be to manipulate from within and achieve something in favour of BB before being caught.

Think about this In the last chapters of pre-timeskip, Avallo told BB to make him a captain, to which Laffitte says does he have a deathwish on him. Now, if Avallo can fuse with Red Line, what stops him to try to became captain again? Or even better, the King of the world? What stops him from trying to betray Teach? Answer is simple. His Devil Fruits. I dont think it's impossible to break parts of the Red Line with eartquakes, now that Teach is stronger and more experienced with his Devil Fruits. And if that doensnt work, he always have the Yami Yami no mis df-canceling power. It's really telling of their groupdynamics when they have really overpowered DF's, but Blackbeard still has a way to keep them in line.

The best part about Blackbeard is that we the readers view him the same way the rest of the world views Luffy. And he now recruited an admiral to his side after Luffy gained a warlord. And now he has his own fan in Caribou. All thats left to highlight is the difference in growth.

Observation haki is not the reason I'm incredulous about the Gorosei not sussing out Devon Saturn, it's that Saturn has been working closely with the other 4 elders for decades if not centuries. Previous examples of clone impersonation are the top of a sovereign hierarchy fooling their subjects or momentarily tricking a close relation before a sneak attack. Not that this doesn't fit, only that it if it the case, it need handled with care. The Gorosei could look very smooth brained not seeing through her performance that seemingly would be entirely based off one brief conversation.

Yeah that's why I think the Saturn impersonation is most noteworthy for giving Blackbeard control over the Seraphim. Also since we know characters don't die, I really can't imagine Saturn just being taken completely out on Egghead to the point that he could be impersonated and nobody ever finds the original.

What doesn't work for me in Katarina impersonating Saturn in that way is that the old fart should have a vast worth of knowledge that she simply wouldn't have. The five crapolds start talking and she's out of her depth immediately. I don't see how they wouldn't notice without Oda's help.

Keep in mind, Katarina's fruit is a mythical zoan, way above the likes of Bon Clay's. It's possible that the nine-tails fruit allows the user to perfectly impersonate others. Not just mimicking their appearance, but also their memories, speech patterns, mannerisms etc.

That was because Teach underestimated Magellan as Shiryu said, and poison in One Piece can one-shot people with high durability as we see Jack and Yeti brothers one-shotting Zoro and Inu/Neko with poison. While you can sah Teach even also underestimated WB, but still even WB that KOed Akainu with 2 hits, couldn't KO Teach with 2 hits.

Blackbeard’s entire MO is “Work smarter, not harder.”

After the Revolutionary's infiltration, Sabo having info of Imu's existence and Vivi escaping I doubt that Imu and the Gorosei will have their guard down enough for BB to pull off an assassination attempt. Imu has BB on his list so, if anything, if he was to be let into Mariejois somehow and for some reason because the Reverie already happened, the one that's in danger of being killed is BB himself.

Personally I don't find this theory very satisfying - You have a devised a convoluted way for Blackbeard to be made a king, but it presumes Devon has the capacity to not only impersonate a Gorosei's appearance, but also their personality/knowledge. My gut feeling is if the gorosei are duped so easily it would feel contrived. - The gorosei should be aware of Devon's powers, and this make all of this feel even more contrived, especially when Saturn starts suddenly advocating for him - Even if Blackbeard is made a king, it is very unlikely the Gorosei will trust him, and "access" to marie geoise even if granted would be questionably advantageous. Blackbeard showing up would certainly be red alert. - And I also question the timeline here, for Blackbeard to become a regular king and having the time to somehow utilize that, while also having a purpose for the poneglyphs IMO Blackbeard will do something else with Devon's power

Preach JB, perhaps Caterina touching was a bonus to the mission as they originally came to egghead to impersonate someone else and probaly then some. What if Blackbeard not only uses saturns image as another bargaining chip but as a means to lure the burn scar man out since it seems that they was gonna impersonate vegapunk first to deceive someone with, the BBP may have learned a connection between vegapunk, the gorosei and the burn scar man

This is more plausible (and also more interesting) than you may realize. Akainu. There is NO way he's letting this slide. This would ABSOLUTELY be the tipping point he's needed to just go absolutely ballistic. Certainly he would know that fighting head on would be suicide - and perhaps that is effectively what he would be fine with committing when the government he spent his life's work for ends up in the hands of a pirate. ESPECIALLY one that is as textbook evil as Blackbeard. It could also easily set up akainu as ANOTHER admiral And obviously, the death of the fleet admiral at a time like this could EASILY be the event needed to really jumpstart the downfall of the world government. Especially with Kizaru turning coat to the strawhats. Greenbull is already corrupt at his core - a person (arguably) equally as dirty as blackbeard - so he poses no real threat to his plan. Even if he did, he stands ZERO chance against the gura gura let alone the yomi yomi. Certainly, he would side with blackbeard at a point. Blackbeard killing akainu is actually more fitting because it could easily lead to an iconic panel of akainu dying in the same way akainu killed whitebeard. With two BLACK HOLES in his chest. And beyond this, they are woven from the same cloth. They are equally driven - in opposing directions. It's also quite fitting that BB has the quake fruit as well as earthquakes are often associated with volcanic eruptions. Perhaps the fight between the magi magi and the gura gura is fated to happen regardless of who eats either fruit at any time.

The only but i have with this theory is that BB pirates arrived to Egghead before the marines fleet arrived , so they were there before Saturn was confirmed. So, this was an improvisation, they wanted anyone with enough authority to supplant, or they had intel that a gorosei would arrive to the island

Indeed. Garp alone is enough to bargain with. If no intel, then Devone and Augar were most probably there for powerups or Vegapunk.

If the plan gets to happen off-scree you know he is going to win.

11:35 I think observation is less of an "activation" and more like Spider Sense. As it is primarily meant to protect the user from harm it's easy to fool if nothing is threatening you and you're unaware that there's something to be looking for. This is why Carrot snuck onto the Straw Hat's ship easily, Blackbeard snuck an entire crew with a ship into Marineford's battle of elites, and Katakuri didn't know there was a mob watching and assisting him while he fought Luffy: all those actions had no innate harm to any of the subjects involved

Exceptions wouldn't really go against this because the basic observation haki seems to fit that rule of thumb best. Future sight and Fujitora/Issho are clearly on a different tier of observation haki for example so obviously those go beyond what the standard is 2) It's been said by the manga that Sanji honed his observation to detect women better while he was stranded on Kamabakka. It's not a good explanation in my eyes, Oda likely just did that to add another element to his obsession with women, but regardless it is the given reason. Oda also stated in a Vol 71 SBS that Sanji's specialty is in observation out of the 3 haki styles so it makes sense that his is attuned in a way other users' observation isn't, similar to the aforementioned Fujitora who can do outlandish things like "see" the weather and clouds despite being blind 3) We were also told that emotions heavily tie into observation haki. Writing convenience or not Sanji is amazing at observation but was hit by bullets while fleeing from Queen on Onigashima because he was having a moment. Luffy could see the future but was so riled up that he didn't sense he was about to be one shot. Observation haki has many flaws even among "expert users"

I think it'll be hard to Devon to act and respond exactly like Saturn without accessing his knowledge. You can't just fake that for long

I don't think impersonating Saturn would work with Imu and the other Gorosei, not because of observation Haki, but just because I would think after 800 years they would know each other other pretty well. Impersonation could definitely get them in the door but any extended stay would definitely make them suspicious. They would know that there are at least 2 Devil fruits that allow someone to impersonate others, one of them being Catarina, one of most dangerous pirates on a Yonko's crew. Maybe she could trick them for a single meeting but what does she do after that? Just leave and then Saturn is MIA? Does she stay there for days, astronomically increasing the risk of them realizing Saturn is not behaving normally? Unless her power gives you the memories, personalities, and or powers of who they impersonate, I don't know how this could really pan out. She MIGHT be able to copy the powers of the person she copies just because she showed curiosity in Saturn's, but even still. I don't think the top 5 people in the world would fall for the "oh i forgot what we talked about in our last 800 years of meetings, can you remind me?"

I think they are going to use Saturn's likeness to cause mass confusion and enter government facilities. Very "in the moment" kind of usage rather than a long-term plan like getting them to agree to let him be King. He kind of was already king of the pirate island. His ambitions have moved past control over a single island or people as we've seen in this last chapter.

Very interesting that part of Blackbeard’s story arc has been being a man from the sheer bottom of society achieving social mobility to the top through any means necessary. Through kindness, through subterfuge, through state power.

While this is more speculative, I find it hard to believe that the nine-tail fox fruit and the clone-clone fruit will work in the exact same way ability-wise, I'd imagine the nine-tail fox is more powerful due to being a mythical zoan. So what if the fox fruit also allows you to change the appearance of other people? In which case Blackbeard can take a significant shortcut and just turn himself into Saturn

By the last chapter Catarina complaint about them not being off the island already, the plan isn't to take Saturn's place right here, right now. They may even use Saturn's appearance to take information from Garp.

considering lafitte's introduction to the story was sneaking into marie geois I feel like the reason he wants a country has to be for something more ambitious than just gaining access to the holy land, with van augur now if his goal is to infiltrate and kill imu he's more than equipped already

BB did in ten chapters what it took Luffy to do in 20 years of story he’s the greatest mastermind I’ve seen in shonnen he’s gonna be Aizen level by the end of the show in terms of planning 😊

I feel like Imu and the Gorosei would notice the switch anyway, Observation or not. These men have lived together literal centuries and probably seen a lot weirder things than impersonation and doppelgangers. But that still doesn't mean they can do anything about it. It'd be some really big egg on their face if the truth came out. So they'd be forced to play along, at least for a while.

Good video but i think it's hilarious we just jump right to them knowing Saturn is an imposter because of observation haki and not simply hey Saturn acting different and does not know high level information and protocol.

While there's a lot of focus on Katarina impersonating Saturn for politics, let's also not forget that the Gorosei are also the top authority for all of the Pacifistas/Seraphim (excluding Bonnie). Is Blackbeard going to have the WG come to rescue Garp only to have their Pacifistas/Seraphims turn on them via Katarina's Saturn transformation taking authority?

Maybe Blackbeard has someone he wants to unpetrify (Boa Hancock could have lied about previous users being unable to). He won't need Hancock if he has S-Snake under his command via Caterina Devon posing as a Gorosei.

I’m 10000% sure that no matter what Imu will kill off Katarina later into the story and just to pretend to think that she’s Saturn.

As always, your theory certainly makes a valid argument which could happen in the future. But while watching the video, I had another thought which represent an alternate viewpoint. Assume the blackbeard is able to infiltrate the WG but eventually, Gorosei and Imu figures it out and Kill him, assuming by the time BB is already well know than what he currently is. In that case, it would be proved how WGs and Imu survived the 800 years so far reigning on the top. This will also make them a formidable enemy which would question how would luffy face them and what the strawhats will do. This is just a theory ofc, as I also feel BB eventually needs to be defeated by Luffy and not anybody else and I also agree with your point in the video, but what if everything I wrote above turns out to be true, but I too feel that would be highly unlikely. (Also, this is the longest comment by me on any video so far and also validates my one of the earlier comments on your video Mr. Morj where I said that yours is the only channel with most of the comments being the longest comments). Thank you for reading, everyone who did.

Too many holes in this theory. First, BB had no way of knowing Saturn would be there. Thus it's likely their original target was someone reported to be on the island. Second, this plan does not account for Saturn living. The plan needs to work regardless of the outcome here. You were so close Morj. BB had an agent on Doflamingo's island. He knows Doffy had blackmail info on the WG. From BBs perspective it's reasonable to assume that Doffy, confronted with a Gorosei or an ASSASSIN, would raise the matter of his blackmail in an attempt to barter for his life. Doffy is cut off from info so it doesn't matter if their target dies. That gives BB the same leverage Doffy had, as well as setting up his play for the empty throne.

I don’t think Observation Haki can always be used to determine is someone is a phony or not. It’s more about foresight and reading intentions. I’m sure some characters would be able see things others can’t with observation though.

i like the theory, but does blackbeard even know imu exists?

Personally, I think that Blackbeard aim is to control the seraphim with Devon, not to sneak into Mariejois. After touching Saturn, Auger and Devon said that this was an unforeseen blessing and even better than their original goal. I believe that their original goal was for Devon to touch Vegapunk in order to control the Seraphim, since they didn't assume a Gorosei was going to make an appearance. And because Saturn is even higher than Vegapunk on the hierarchy, it's even better for the BB Pirates since no one would be able to take away control of the Seraphim.

I never thought about it, but if the Marines capturing Roger and executing him was a world changing event, Black Beard capturing and executing Garp would be an event on the same level but on the opposite direction. The WG can't afford to let this happen.

Devon impersonating Saturn should give her control over the Seraphim

Where does finding the One Piece fit into Blackbeard's plan? Maybe that's necessary either to kill Imu or for what comes after killing Imu?

My only problem with this theory is that you’re assuming the other Gorosei and Imu don’t have Vivre Cards. So I don’t think the real Saturn can die and Catarina be able to fool the other Gorosei and Imu. Unless her fruit gives her all his memories and Abilities it would be trash if they fell for that BS after living 900 years

Imagine the size of the bargaining chips BB's going to have once Caribou tells him his knowledge on the Ancient Weapons. If he still needs them at this point.

Theres one thing that doesnt make sense for this theory. Why does Blackbeard need Garp, when he could just use Saturn (Devon) as a Pawn for negotiating? If Saturn dies on Egghead, but nobody from the government knows, then he could just claim that he rescued/captured him, to use the disguised Devon as a pawn why simultaneously getting her into the inner circle. Also why did they claim the mission to be complete, when saturn isnt even defeated yet? Why count on luffy to beat saturn, when they could stay around, to make sure he dies.

I have a theory that Teach and Dragon cut a deal to work together to take down the Celestial dragons when they met and probably fought at Baltigo. We've heard next to nothing in like 300 chapters since that conflict. It would fit both Teach and Dragon's master planner character traits. And as a pirate and Rev they don't have any natural conflict. It would be cool to see all the will of D boys take down Imu together then battle it out after.

Garp's capture's importance will either be off screened, or shown later, maybe in Elbaf, in the side like in egghead. And things will get more and more chaotic.

Do we know if Blackbeard knows about Imu? As far as I remember the only people who we have confirmed knowledge of Imu's existence is The Gorosei, Sabo/The Heads of the Revolutionary Army, Vivi, and Wapol?

So my theory is Katarina is gonna transform into Saturn and announce that hachinosou is gonna be its own kingdom either that or they are gonna pretend like they captured Saturn after luffy beats him.

Yup this seems to be the case if saturn dies or is in a predicament that prevents him from returning to Mariejois as Caterina and Augur seems to be banking on one of these 2 options when they adjusted the mission

Imu is using Observation Haki all the time. Its why he's such a Godlike Being to the Celestial Dragons. In fact it will play part of why he betrayed Joyboy. He knew he would betray him all along. But most important his Observation Haki is not perfect, it shows what he wants. Which is why everything he has planned was for his Great Plan. He can see far into the future and even alternate futures, and all this time everything he has done was to ensure that Alternate Future is the one that becomes the True Future. Its why everyone is irrelevant for him. So long as that Goal is reached. He is haunted by how Good his Observation Haki is, so good that it can see specific parts of alternate futures.

The way my jaw dropped at 7:45 when it clicked in my head where this theory was going 😭

This is a spot on theory on Blackbeard's timeline Morj and i think his character complex gives us more insight into his role in the story as a final villain; Both he and luffy have a dream to become King (of the world- Teach & of the pirates- Luffy). Whereas Luffy represents liberation from oppression mirrored by his Pirate King ambition, Teach represents oppression with his King of the World ambition - Oda has hinted to us that he is the exact opposite of Luffy in his introduction. Thats why instead of killing Imu, he may take his powers including that which sustains the theorized artificial Red Line and his role as King.

I wonder what was the BB Pirates actual goal on Egghead. I think it has to do something with Vegapunk or the Seraphim, Saturn landing there gave them a fortune shortcut though.

Latest chapter seems to have confirmed the elder stars can communicate telepathically. Therefore Katerina would not be able to successfully fool the others.

Honestly if we stick with the 3 devil fruit theory, and expect the gorosei (or even Imu) to have mythical zoans, it would be series-defining to have BB take Imu’s devil fruit now that he has access to Imu. BB would have the strongest fruits from each category, and it would pin Luffy against the strongest foe possible

BB can possibly control seraphim now via devon (saturn appearance). "Mission Completed" maybe bcuz the real reason they went to egghead is to get that command authority for seraphim by copying vegapunk. And since saturn is there it make "easier" for them to complete that mission. 💀

And that kid on Skypeia... she had always on observation haki, but seems to have been straight up born with it

Thematically this is perfect too. Luffy's actions have also strangely aided BB everytime i feel like, making it a correct parallel.

The gorosei wasn't even his plan, it was just sheer luck

There’s a thing where Blackbeard is completely contradictory. Like he shows immense courage and trepidation, is special(polar opposite) in a lineage which is already special, rides on the smallest ship(buncha logs) and the largest battleship(San Juan Wolf), and has three personalities and hurt shanks(one of the strongest) at his weakest, and has the biggest dream even though he doesn’t sleep. Also I’m thinking a devil fruit ate Blackbeard instead of a person eating a DF. I don’t think the void century and the ancient kingdom or joy boy and indeed the one piece world as a whole has seen a character like Blackbeard before. He probably never inherited anyone’s will although the series is always been about inheriting the will of others.

I mean if they do take over Marijois, Avalo then can become the Red Line with his Devil fruit, that would actually be insane. Circling back at what the giants said about a ‘giant snake soaked in blood’ that surrounds the planet.

The manga should just have a dystopian ending where Blackbeard rules the world and Luffy is beaten. Truly the age of pirates. Until we get Two Piece.

Imo, the fact that One Piece only has 1 Paranoid guy who use observation haki while not in obvious danger is a major writting flaw. You'd expect every strong figure to have a bit of paranoïa and make counter measure. To use observation haki to check on everything within his country once a day or something. (Because yes, they have the range for it). Even if it's taxing, its stop any invasion plan that last longer then a day. The training obsessed guy who's always using an ability. Who's paranoïd. Who makes plan. Counter plan. Measures. It's a trope for a reasons. People are legitimately like that. And strong people should be able to. Like Ace attacked Whitebeard while he slept and he knew.

MOOOORJ you speedreader. Saturn being there was dortuitous but that wasn't their objective at first. They came there for another mission and saw a shortcut by finding Saturn there, impersonating a Gorosei would be improvisation.

Devon tapped Saturn in his beast form... Does that mean she can transform into his 'human' form as well, or only beast mode?

The problem is Black has to kill imu to win and until we get any actual information regarding Imu, even just a face revel. That is never going to happen. I suspect that Blackbeard decapitation strike might fail spectacularly and force him to race to get the one peice for any chance at victory. A last gambit to get the power needed to beat Imu.

I think it'll play out slightly differently. I think Teach ends up winning the One Piece first (later to be taken by Luffy), then he goes for the throne of the world. But I've been saying this forever. Teach is the final villain, he'll probably be the next Pirate King, and he'll be one to take out the Gorosei, imu, and the Celestial Dragons because Luffy can't kill them. The final war won't be against the WG we know, but Teachs WG.

the one thing missing here is that it is necesary to explain how blackbeard knows about imu. So far Imu is still a mystery in this world. Cobra learned about a secret using secret teyxts but not about imu himself, and the 5 elders knew, obviously. And so far only one other person learned about them and that is sabo, who only now is able to spread this information. So in order for Blackbeards plan, how you say it, to make sense we need to know how he knew about imu all those years back and more importantly why he never shared this information, since spreading this would make the worldgoverment weaker and therefore easier to overtake.

I don’t think he’s getting to the holy land tbh. I think imu already knows Saturn has been touched or is watching everything unfold. Imu is gonna be ready to strike the moment bb tries to do something. The second idea would be that there is a traitor in the bb pirates who isn’t kuzan

I feel like oda named the island/arc egghead not just based on the structure. egghead is usually an insult to smart ppl. but the idea of the term “egghead” reaches more than just punk records and vegapunk. blackbeard is an evil mastermind schemer; one of the best tacticians in one piece. in my head cannon, oda titled the arc after the island’s concept specifically because of the egghead-ish ideas of blackbeard himself. this arc is to show how cunning blackbeard truly is. he went after whoever went to winner island to get their poneglyph rubbings, got redundant devil fruits for his crew mates, utilizing them to the best of their abilities to divide and conquer, captured pudding n garp n is going to become king to have easy access to mariejois. this arc is the best showing of blackbeard yet. and with caribou getting a spotlight moment as the antithesis to bartolemeo, with knowledge on the ancient weapons as well, blackbeard is sure to be an even greater force to be reckoned with. luffy isn’t set on conquering the world and is focused on his dream of freedom. if oda had written luffy as anything else, blackbeard would have been foiled a while ago. but as tensions and stakes rise, there may be a race to the ancient weapons in the foreseeable future if any straw hat appears to realize caribou’s presence as they mentioned any ancient weapons after his disappearance too. this arc is single handedly a 10/10 so far. I feel as tho he’s going to try to crush luffy’s dream further by claiming the one piece to make luffy act out of rage again and cloud his judgement during their battle.

On observation haki: as I understand it the basic application is letting you see that somebody is there, like knowing how many enemies there are and where they are + in a fight you get to read the oponent's moves. I'm not sure it's stated anywhere you can figure out somebody's identity through observation haki. That means it's reasonable to assume observation haki is as vulnerable as regular sight when it comes to imitating appearance

Don't forget that Pudding can see ppl's memories.

1) The Gorosei might not grant BB's wish to become a king in exchange for Garp. This would be possible if BB captured Garp in secret, but now all the pirates on Hachinosu will spread rumors of Garps defeat. So granting BB king status in exchange for Garp won't save face at all, which is the main reason they'd consider it in the first place. 2)But now the question is, will Katarina's "mimic" ability allow her to communicate telepathically with the Gorosei as well? Because if yes, she can listen in on their communications, if no then the gorosei will discover her deception. 3) ALSO, Kat isn't always using future sight though. If he can't maintain calmness he can't use FS. With this alone it seems like he's not on Shanks or Kaido's level of observation, or probably even nowhere near. More like slightly above noob level of FS

Scary part luffy would probably be integral to the plan. Knowing luffy it's gonna be an all out war so he's gonna be the distraction so the gorosei leaves imu then the BB pirates jumps imu. Now after that the stage has been set, BB might be out numbered but there's a likelihood that BB after defeating Imu has access to the ancient weapon so the straw hats are in a pigeonhold to fight them crew to crew. I swear if the god valley incident is gonna be the foreshadow how BB and luffy's fight turns out I'm gonna flip

I think black beard has made a blunder .....he thinks the gorosei are the final word and if he's one he can manipulate the rest not knowing there is a final say....the REAL king of the world the one and only one who has a say

Luffy defeating Saturn and opening the way for BB to infiltrate Mary Geoise is such a good parallel to Luffy defeating Crocodile and opening the way for BB to infiltrate Impel Down

10:45 it’s not just thanks to Luffy that they get to mimic Saturn, it’s also thanks to the StrawHats Blackbeard is going to know about the ancient weapon locations, … and thanks to them that Fishmen Island will be attacked.

But Gorosei are in some way internally linked. Can't just take one out and send a mimic in there without them knowing.

People aren't only assuming that characters are running around with their Haki active all the time, they are also assuming that all the character's Haki is on the level of Katakuri's future sight or Fujitora's "blind eye" Haki, which I'm almost positive that it's not.

Imu will have a deal with Blackbeard. Imu probably has sapphire scales so he can’t go out in sunlight, blackbeards void fruit wakening will probably mean he can block out the sun and therefore letting Imu roam free.

Actually, my concerns with devon impersonating Saturn would be: A.) What I presume to be VERY strong Advanced Conqueror's Haki from Saturn, while devon to my knowledge has never been shown to even have basic Conqueror's Haki. B.) devon has not yet been shown to have enough of a grasp of Saturn's personallity to essentially pass the vibe check with the other gorosei. This isn't so much about Observation Haki as it is the other four presumably knowing each other well enough to at least guess if one of them isn't who he seems, which would have nothing to do with Observation Haki. C.) Forget the Gorosei, what about Imu? Perhaps he isn't so personally knowledgeable about the Gorosei that devon could hide that aspect, but if anything like the throne room hunt for Cobra and Sabo happens before the jig is up, it'll probably be impossible for her to fully replicate his appearance, much less his abilities and super regeneration. Perhaps this doesn't have to be any longer than Blackbeard getting crowned and after that point devon can drop the act or something, but if devon can't even convince the Gorosei then this plan fall apart.

Im just not sure that Imu doesnt have tactical redundancies in place for EXACTLY this situation. There'd be so many ways to verify if Saturn was an impostor or not, I'd like to believe. In fact, its so obvious, that I'm certain Oda will subvert the expected outcome. Thenimpersonation of Saturn will be used but in a different manner than stated.

I like the idea of this sequence of events and think they will happen, however I doubt Blackbeard planned this at all. He is more of an opportunist and can improvise extremely well. He went to Amazon Lily to get Boa (or at least her fruit) He never anticipated to leave with Coby instead and especially never anticipated the Seraphim. With this knowledge he sent Van Augr and Devon to Egghead. To get hold of these new super weapons. They most likely wanted to copy Vegapunk to get control of the seraphim, but Saturn is an even better loot, since he is higher in the command hierarchy. Meanwhile BB could not have known that Cobys Imprisonment would lead to a raid from Garp. So BB got an even better bargaining chip than before. I think BB has a plan, but the story gives him even better cards right now.

Imagine a free for all at the end blackbeard vs imu vs luffy

Kat Devon getting Saturn's identity, def foreshadows Saturn dying. If this is the plan, Saturn's identity is useless, if Saturn returns. Iron giant is going to drag Saturn down to the bottom of the ocean with him lol.

My only question is this: if he wants to aim for being the king of the world, why is he still invested in the race for Pirate King? It would seem to me that the One Piece, whatever it is, would be less valuable than the throne of the world. Yet, blackbeard is still very much interested in it. That would imply that the one piece is somehow relevant to this whole plan of his, and maybe he knows something about it.
