We've Been Receiving A Mysterious Signal Every 22 minutes For 35 Years
For 35 years, scientists and astronomers have been intrigued by a mysterious signal arriving from space every 22 minutes. This relentless pattern has sparked a multitude of questions and theories about its origin and meaning. Is it a natural cosmic phenomenon, or could it be an attempt at communication from an extraterrestrial intelligence?

More than likely, it's a group of teenage aliens getting stoned and making prank phone calls.
I'd be willing to bet that that 35 year period started when we started listening and not when the signal began.

With all due respect, your stock videos imply that this signal is directed at our planet in a very limited space. I think we should consider the spread of a radio signal that is crossing the path of our solar system for 35 years…
@ericsummerset3368
2 ай бұрын
Exactly!! They need to simplify and look at what we know and eliminate the insane. What we know is the interval and strength. We seem to not know the direction so we can work our way backwards. We know that there is no way a random signal can follow a moving planet for 35 years every 22 minutes. That tells us potentially 2 things. 1) The signal is omni directional and hitting us and everyone else. 2) It is being aimed at us intentionally by someone intelligent. In my unprofessional opinion, it can only be one or the other. If it is #1, we need to have multiple sensors available to triangulate the location. The theory has to work the same with radio waves. I don't need credit for the assist, but recognition would be nice.
@dieAnthropologischeKonstante
2 ай бұрын
@@ericsummerset3368 I see a third explanation. It is not omnidirectional but the propagation of the light/electromagnetic waves cover’s an area that is that big. to know when we entered the “beam” might be also an information good to have. But as I remembered, the source is determined so …
Magnetic fields are only produced by electric currents. So, double interactions are most likely two twisting Birkland Currents in a Z-pinch. Criminy (trans. Geez)

It was actually said that this is an ultra-long-period signal.
They should check if it’s just aimed at us or everywhere. Or see where else it may be targeting, maybe a beacon of where we should look also.
I'll save you a lifetime: The closest potentially habitable planet found outside our solar system so far is orbiting a star 14 light-years away. If there were a species there capable of sending any signal, it would take 28 years at minimum just to communicate a "hello". But most likely, any comparative species looking to make contact is much further away - so far that no human could be present to witness any 2-way communication.
That cable management at 2:35 though! Very nice 🤌🏻
It is the refresh rate of the computer system that is generating this virtual environment. Kind of like the refresh rate of a video card but this is an entire environment refresh rate. And the direction of "GPMJ1839-10" heads towards the COU of the system, as we refer to it. Mathematically more likely than not we are in a virtual environment , or we are heading for self annihilation. Because if we survive as a species then we will have computer systems that will be able to simulate a great deal of the universe in the not too distant future. That is not even a creative thought on computer advancement, not really. When you look what we started with and when we started it too where we are now with the tech that is public knowledge. Look at what Alan Turing came up with in the 50s and where we are 70 years later. So imagine, if we survive what computer systems will look like 200 years after their inception. We are picking up noise from the simulation and the system creating the simulation.

In astrophysics, it's important to never just impulsively grab for the tinfoil hat because "strange" is actually the norm out there in the deep dark. The only truly strange aspect isn't that it is precise, and certainly isn't that it is frequent, it's that it's SO slow to repeat its cycles. Pulsars do this hundreds of times a second with fantastic precision. When you think about it, that's a far stranger concept to try to get your head around from a layperson's point of view.

Thanks for reporting these observations. Three important things that you didn't tell us however are the precise celestial co-ordinates, the radio frequency and the received signal strength, to allow us to find 'Gee pee em jay eighteen thirty-nine dash teyen' and monitor it for ourselves. (Congratulations for repeating it so accurately throughout the video, btw!) Amateur astronomers and radio listeners can be very useful in furthering our understanding of such phenomena as this one.

All I could find was that GPM J1839−10 has a periodicity of ∼ 21 minutes, estimated distance of ∼ 5.7 kpc and radio luminosity of 10 27−28 erg s −1 (peak fluxes of ∼ 0.1 − 10 Jy). It is apparently 15K LY away from us in the constellation of Scutum. Anybody got one a dem space calculators what says where stars are located?

Why don't the Astro-Engineers hold a Mirror up to the signal, and see what, if any, response is made. IF there is a response, then SETI has been realised !

I was just happy to click on this and not hear the expected AI voice and disjointed presentation. The only potential hiccup was the pronunciation of periodicity which might have been an AI tell (well and maybe the continued long-form name of the object) -- but if this is AI, dang, it's really good.
