We have Myles turner and he’s saying we need Ayton while giving up Ben… litterally makes no sende

The Pacers only offered Ayton a max deal because they weren't certain they would be able to extend Myles Turner. Had Turner not signed a contract extension, he almost certainly would have been traded to avoid losing him for nothing and in that situation, getting Ayton as his replacement would, on paper, make sense. Getting Ayton now (especially giving up so much potential in Mathurin and Walker) just doesn't make sense given his subpar effort and productivity for his career so far. The Pacers need winning players and Ayton is not that.

don't ever expect anyone to put in effort when thinking about a Pacers rumor. Turner is their center just look at the stats on the chemistry with Tyrese, and then while they didn't need Mathurin to make the ECF, he would've helped them a ton in those three games they should've taken from the Celtics.

Totally agree about Ayton. Denver trade is sensible. Let's not exaggerate, he's a 40%3pt shooter, want to knock him for performing in certain playoff series. Go ahead. Still, Ivey seems like he may not pan out as a volume scorer. -4% league relative TS in 2nd season. Stewart is a starter on a 17 win team. At face value, that's role player on a playoff/contending team. Grimes is 24 & in his 5th year. Should have become a starter at some point for the Knicks. Trade is decent if not sensible. Detroit needs a better scorer. MPJ also doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective. Should be a good fit going into the future. If Cade can continue to develop.

They don't have a choice. They can't tank unless the Spurs, say, offer them most of their picks back for Trae Young. That would be interesting. Nets were offered a similar deal for Mikal Bridges from Houston and declined it for some stupid reason.

Pacers already have Miles Turner. That wouldn’t be a good trade, you can’t play them both. Ayton is fine with the blazers

Kuminga would probably be a cornerstone player on a mediocre team that would not even make the play in tournament every year. But he would be the second scoring option on a good team that is competitive and an NBA Finals contender.. Warriors had a game this season where Curry,Klay, and Green sat out. Kuminga and Moody balled out. But the Warriors lost by 15 pts. The game was close until the 4 quarter. Moody lead all scorers. Kuminga is not a franchise player yet. He is more consistent scorer than Wiggins tho. Thats because Kuminga is deadly when attacking the rim. And he has better mid range jumper than Wiggins. Kuminga can get you 20 to 25 pts , 7 boards, 3 assists, and a block per game. All star worthy numbers. But not Shai Gilgeous or Luka frachise player numbers. We'll see how Kuminga does in 2 more seasons when hits his prime.

That salary is a problem from Denver, IS, Quentin Grimes and the 5th pick, keep Ivey and Michael will be up for a new contract when you have been able to fully see what the kids can do. Keep Ivey, make that trade.

I don't think the MPJ trade makes sense for two reasons. One, he had one bad postseason. And he's still pretty young. It would be giving up on him way too early. Two, even if they did want to give up on him, it would be horrible timing. You don't want to trade a guy when his trade value is at an all-time low

Most of these could make sense though I don't see the value for Orlando in the Trae Young deal you mentioned. I get that they need playmaking, but giving up all those pieces (plus some of their future) would make that they're no longer only missing playmaking. Isaac and Mo are a huge part of "why they only need playmaking", Trae would give them the playmaking but weaken their defense to the point it changes what the team's about (a-la Dame in the Bucks along with losing Holiday), eat a HUGE chunk of their cap space and they'd be missing Mo's versatility on offense. I think the NBA is starting to move away from "names" a bit and understand that "pieces" are more important. It started with Denver's championship (where "correct basketball" beat "how many all-stars I've got on my team") and will get accelerated with the new CBA deal coming into play next season. With what these stars are being paid, I think high value pieces will become much better assets for cusp contenders and contenders while as the lower end teams that are waiting on rebuilds will be "huge contract parking spots" for players like Young who aren't quite worth the chunk they take out of the cap space. All-stars that can't carry you into contention with "old CBA" contracts are gonna have a rough few years imo.
