We put a $500 engine in our $10,000 Civic

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this HUGE episode we are K-swapping a super clean (and somewhat expensive) EK Honda Civic we got off a granny and dropping in a K24 we got out of a cheap and grotty Honda Accord Euro we got off a mate called Sprongle. Will it transform our grocery getting slow hatchback into an epic performance vehicle? Let's find out!

    @irgv-tec2560 yet people are K swapping NSX's. C series is a cool motor, but nowhere's near the league a 2JZ when it comes to modding it. There's 2500hp 2jz out there churning 6secs in 1/4. An NSX or c32 or even c30 isn't doing either those things. Grannas racing on the other hand..... Love my Hondas but again C series was outclassed by a lot of straight 6s

  • @igvtec

    @igvtec

    7 ай бұрын

    @@LegerAndCo C-series back in the day, was a hell of a lot more expensive. And more rare. Compared to the 2jz being more numerous compared to C-series. Which is why I believe, it hasn't had a chance to have as much development from the aftermarket sector. compared to the rest of the engines out there. Guarantee the c series it would hold more power than a k series with the standard block. There are more k series out there less expensive and more aftermarket support that's why people go k series. As for what the c-series could achieve, really is unknown as there is not enough examples out there that could define what it could do.

    What an absolutely terrific sound coming out of that set up!! Wow!! For an engine/drivetrain putting down under 200 wheel horsepower and only 2.4 liters, that engine with that specific exhaust matched up delivers a very sweet low tone resonance that rises all the way up to redline even when those ripping tones enter the mix. Absolutely perfect. The beauty on the ears of carrying that low resonance all through the range of acceleration is that it never begins to turn into a painful shrill of all higher engine notes inside the cabin. That perfect.y blended tone ensemble tells you this thing is breathing perfectly for its tune which delivers that hard and smooth acceleration. It’s no wonder why folks are so addicted to that engine series. So cool. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

    Seeing the collaboration of local legends and international brainiacs and superstars, all thrown together in a masterpiece is an absolute treat! MCM has always been about the people and moments shared, the things with wheels, are just a vehicle in which to connect and share the abundance of beautiful moments that take place, thank you guys! ❤

    Brian, is a Honda wizard. Great car guys! Brian and I put the same K24, no cams, in my 2038 lb 86 CRX and it made 220hp to the wheels and 200ftlbs. So you guys still have some HP left on the table. Mine hits the track for the first time this weekend! Keep the videos coming!

    Brian Gillespie aka Mr Hasport is the man! He is super down to earth and knowledgeable. I've met him at Speedworld here in Phoenix, AZ USA back in the day when he had his blue Honda Insight.

In the future I'd love to see you guys do a build off collab with Speed Academy that would be freaking awesome! Love how surprised Moog looks on the drive after the dyno run.

    I'm literally not even halfway through, but I already know this is my favorite MCM video. It is so very hard to pick, mind you! But the absolute positivity and community you are showing here, learning from an expert and even publishing mistakes. Speaking so positively of your peers at all times. Truly an inspiration to ME, your channel is part of why I love the car scene and I can only speak positively of the fun, exciting atmosphere you generate. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but It is great to see the hard work that goes into extensively R&D'd parts, that make it so that modding these vehicles is more accessible for more people. Bravo everyone!

    Not a huge Honda Fan though I have owned several over the years. Great Cars overall, just got weird looking over the years. No doubt the potential of these K20/24's is amazing. They are right, when comparing to an Evo 9. My Evo 9 MR I bought new in 2006 made 225awhp when it was about 2 months old. Though, with not much mods I was making almost 400awhp and drove it like that for 5 yrs with no issues before I sold it. That's another story. VTEC academy coming all the way to Australia to help out??? That was freaking sweet!!! Could not have a more knowledgeable person working on your Honda!!!
