Literally- I was putting on my fiancés winter tires when I found a cross threaded bolt… the lug got stripped in the hub, so the nut and stud were basically fused together. I had tried everything, and to make it worse they were set deep in the alloy wheels. Ended up breaking so many bits trying to drill it out, I had to go to harbor freight and buy a whole set of their ‘expensive’ metal bits that were impact driver compatible. The other 3 wheels took 15 mins. This one took ~2 days in 10 degree weather.

@Vladistamboliev that's how I do it. Couple or three stops from 30 mph to build some heat in them (not coming to full stop) then do a couple harder stops from 40mph, then I do a couple harder stops from 50mph. I then drive around normally for a few mins to cool the brakes a bit then do a really hard stop from 60 or 70mph. All in all it takes me about 10 minutes and have never had an issue and brakes always have felt great throughout their life.

If you don't bed your brakes you wind up with uneven wear and vibrations and the myth of a "warped" rotor. Rotors will never warp under use. They only warp if they are heavily impacted in a wreck. However, what everyone refers to as "warped" rotors is the vibration you feel in the pedal. If you don't bed the brakes you'll feel that vibration. That's the before and after.
