WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH

Музыка

Depression, anxiety, and panic attacks are NOT signs of weakness, they are signs of trying to remain strong for far too long.
Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. Neither is talking about it. And we, as a society, need to talk about it more!

Smile thing is good, expetialy if you think of someone you love smile will come without you even trying. The rest of it can help you for sure, but why not going to church more? It can give you much more lasting peace of mind, inner peace than meditation that can give you similar benefits but only when you sit down and actualy do it. Being closer to our Lord and going to church more often can give you much better results than that, not only in your spiritual mental health but in all other areas of life.

Drugs are a consequence and a reason... and we're talking about 2 different drug classes here. I'm talking about psychiatric drugs. The drugs prescribed by big pharma. These drugs are a consequence and a reason for abnormal behavior (such as school shootings)... Psychedelics on the other hand do help people... and should be used more often for mental illness. I agree with you there. There is research to back that up.

Every once in a while we’ll go outside and walk with nothing but thinking, no phones, were not even allowed to talk to each other. I actually started doing practices like this on my own time, and I can actually say some of my minor depression is gone. I used to have a sad music playlist that’d I’d listen to about every day but now I don’t even use it haha.

Our school had those too! We would sit quietly, relax, close our eyes if we wanted to for two minutes. We were allowed to bring anything we wanted to help us feel more relaxed or more safe, like a special stuffed animal. We then had somebody draw a rock from a collection of 21 rocks that had words on them. Words like joy, peace, growth, patience, and learn. After that, we would talk about what that word meant to us. We weren't forced to voice our opinions. We only did it if we wanted to. Not only did it help to relax us, it also helped each classmate trust one another. We only did it for 21 days, though, because we only had 21 rocks

I'm not saying continuing to do it is what you should do, but saying just stop it doesn't work. Now giving suggestion's on how to stop would be much better

I get your point and I agree, but I'd say "emotional health" or "emotional control" instead of "mental health" cause I think we are mostly unstable emotionally not mentally, emotions takes over thoughts and we make bad decisions like that, by overreacting or hurting others. I think everyone should know how to handle their emotions first, cause you can think very deeply and be clever while being in the incapacity of feeling any kind of empathy (like cold and cynical ones) & you can be very emotional and ignorant (which is also a problem right).

For a long time I did nothing about my mental health. Then I started watching comedy videos on KZread . I had a cat that I knew no one would take care of if I did something stupid to myself. I wrote in my journal, I meditated, I wrote and printed out affirmations, and found passages in the Bible that spoke to where I was. A quick fix didn’t happen. I practice, and still do, the Law of attraction. I see in my mind the person I want to be. I DECIDE that my day is going to be good. I don’t wait for the actions of the day to dictate it👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 Great video.

I agree. I probably have had anxiety or depression before but have never been diagnosed. But I know so many people who say they have anxiety and they can’t keep talking about it now which makes them worse because they are drumming it into their subconscious over and over again, bringing it to one long term emotional state.

Magnusoar It was something I couldn’t control. I felt empty and wouldn’t get up except for school. Everything felt like nothingness. I didn’t realise because I felt bad for being the way I was as if I was being stupid, I always thought “it’s not depression, people have it worse than me, I’m just a useless stupid person”. I felt so tired all the time. If that’s not depression then what is? Self diagnosing, you are right, it’s stupid to do that. But I never went to the doctors. I never diagnosed myself until after I got over it, which was when I realised. I was just lucky that it was only a minor case because I didn’t cut myself or think about suicide. I got over it which makes me extremely lucky.

Magnusoar Depression affects people differently, some can't function at all while some can carry out normal day to day activities while still feeling depressed. Feeling empty is something that I would assume everyone feels at some point however if it's a constant feeling that persists then it can be a sign of depression.

I'm not a professional or anything, but I feel like you can self-diagnose in a way. Of course self-diagnosing isn't _the best_ option and the person doing so isn't always correct, but being aware of your situation and wanting to reflect is better than assuming what you think is wrong and brushing things aside because you haven't seen a professional. Kinda hurts when I say "I think I have depression and social anxiety, but haven't been professionally diagnosed." and someone says "You're just over-reacting. You can't self-diagnose." because I didn't just wake up one day and decide to say I have depression and social anxiety. I've read about it, watched videos on it, talked to friends who actually do have it, talked to counsellors etc. And maybe I don't physically act like I have it, but if you saw someone crying put a mask over their face, would you think they suddenly stopped crying?

Even though so many people struggle with poor mental health/mental illness, we don't talk about it! Because we're taught to not talk about stuff like that, it's "too personal".

I agree this is the most important topic in the world. I too believe it should be a mandatory part of education. I have recovered from so called "ADD" and "Bipolar Disorder" by practicing mindfulness and learning to watch the thoughts that arise and not believe, judge or identify with them. Being only partially conscious of them while believing and identifying with them was what the root of the "Bipolar" ups and downs. Not realizing that I could weild my attention and disregard distracting thoughts was the root of ADD. The medication only made me more unconscious of the thoughts. As an RN I no longer believe in the physical/biological root of "mental illness", they are all thought "disorders". When thoughts are believed they become your reality, some are more creative and therefore have more extreme thoughts that are then believed and acted on, that is psychosis. Yet even the so called medical "experts" don't know or emphasize that and believe the medical model. The DSM itself is based merely on thought and opinion, there are no objective diagnostic tests. Medical treatment, which is often enforced involuntarily, only suppresses the consciousness further with drugs. The diagnoses themselves cause stigma, which is adds an additional layer of negative thought and fuels the root cause of "mental illness". The medications just make the unconscious thoughts more unconscious. Mindfulness is a way out of the layers of delusion, not only in the one diagnosed, but the delusions of the one trying to treat the "mentally ill" and even the delusions society considers to be "normal" behavior. Mindfulness, nutrition, sleep, exercise such as simply a walk in nature are the way out of the madness pervading society as a whole. Those who become so distorted in their thinking and make the news are canaries in the coal mine showing us how poisoned the collective consciousness has become. Thank you.

THIS GUY IS A REAL GENIUS, world would be a beautiful and healthy place if we all start thinking and expressing our emotions, really, don't letting this machinery of drugs, pornography, fake education, social media that poisons the brain, to control our lives. We could stop worrying and being angry of small things that ain't even problems, like being rejected by a boyfriend/girlfriend, looking bad (fat, short, or idk big headed) behind the mirror, all that can change, our nerves and mental health are irreversible, but start now, start feeling happy and self-sufficient, a girl you dream about will come to you, when you change your lifestyle, YOU MUST NOT BE ENVIOUS OF ANYTHING.Love you all❤❤🙂

I'm taking this time in coronavirus isolation to become a better person. When we all finally return to society, I hope we can all rebuild better, together.
