Ойын-сауық

Have you heard of nutritional therapy? It’s a fancy term for the phrase “you are what you eat” and sometimes, mental health isn’t just all in your head. If you’ve been feeling symptoms of depression, I'm talking about all things supplements and natural alternatives to relieve some of these ailments.
Much of the information in this video comes from Julia Ross’s book “The Mood cure”

I'm a physician ...I wouldn't go so far giving these kind of suggestions about supplements without having a complete and professional knowledge about each one of them. Something that is natural DOESN'T necessarily mean it's safe for everyone ! This concept is really important to understand ! In particular the one you mentioned, ST. JOHN'S WORT, has MANY contraindications ! It could easily interfere with different categories of drugs ! Oral contraceptives, vitamin k antagonists (warfarin), carbamazepine, tacrolimus, nefazodone, some anti HIV agents, some SSRI causing the SEROTONERGIC SYNDROME that is a fatal condition ! and several other drugs ! Before giving these advices you have to know what you are doing ! It could be very dangerous and life threatening ! Be careful !

@Bran EVERYTHING is on Google nowadays BUT you have to know how to deal with the information you receive and there is a lot of misinformation too. I'm pretty sure you and your friend above never heard of a "serotonergic syndrome" before reading my post and I'm 100% sure you never saw a patient with it. Not to mention you can't even recognize or know what are its symptoms. Saying what you said "It's on Google" is totally POINTLESS because I can search for every f. little detail about every scientific field but I have to know where to search, so what ?! I'm also 100% sure that when you were watching this video and he mentioned ST. JOHN'S WORT that huge list of pharmacological interactions and life threatening conditions didn't cross cross your mind ...am i right ? or not ? What's the point of telling me it's also on Google ?! I know it's there ! But fortunately I studied them on med school books and if a patient comes to me with a problem like that I know how to cope with it thanks to my experience in the hospitals. So what ?! Your standpoint is totally useless.

Something else that there’s been a lot of research on (& are still doing a lot of research on) is turmeric supplements. Putting it in your food or drinking golden milk a few times a week is not enough. If you decide to try it Healthline has some great articles.

Very good insight. My depression and everything else tend to get worse when I consume processed carbs. When I go on a ketogenic diet, my Crohn's disease goes away. I've had my terminal ileum removed because of Crohn's. My doctor put me on folic acid, which I quit taking. A ketogenic diet helps keep my Crohn's under control and alleviates my type 2 diabetes. But, I have to supplement my body for depression and the ketogenic diet. They appear to be interconnected, especially since my terminal ileum has been removed. B12 is processed and produced in the terminal ileum. I started back taking sublingual b12 and b Complex. For a time, I took injections. thank you for this video. It served to remind me how much of what I think is just me, might be lack of certain vitamins and minerals.

Just remember, when it come to supplements, sometimes they can have withdrawal symptoms as well. So if you decide to stop taking something, make sure to look up that you don’t need to get off it slowly. Also! Certain medications have bad side effects with certain supplements. Such as, St. John’s wort and venlafaxine (my own experience). That’s why prince says to consult a doctor or do your research. Much love and healing y’all ❤️

Excellent, just two things i would ad. Taking st john’s worth when you are already using ssri or snri medicaments can cause seronin syndrome, hypomania or even mania. Also, st john’s wort is fototoxic so caution is needed with direct sunlight exposure. I need to look up for b6, but i was taught that only c and d are soiluble in water, rest of them in fat, so taking b6 on an empty stomach, hm, after breakfast definetly, but this, as i said, i will look it up. All in all, great video.

I think people should stop looking for a cure for their own issue. Anxiety/depression/ some chronic diseases if you think you have the these conditions for the rest of your life, your going to spend your whole life waiting for a cure. A cure those things won’t come for a long long time. If you stop thinking that you have a disease and it will never go, you slowly become less of a victim’s to it. When you realize you don’t want to be victim because that’s a choice everyone can make then you will start to brainstorm ideas on how to get better. Through exercise, mediation, supplements, medications if you really need to, therapy, community, sun exposure, grounding, passions and goals, etc. trust that you can get better on your own, don’t wait looking for a cure

Tyrptophan is in milk. If you are lactose intolerant I don't know if substitutes have tryptophan. Turkey has the highest amount of a compound that provides seratonin. Pasta also gives seratonin. Walking is the best.

Try some shroom, Shrooms, you see, are not just a bit of psychedelic fun, they can actually cure depression, anxiety, PTSD, and mental health issues in general are notoriously hard to treat, so why not try psychedelics and see if they worked?...they can help you If you don't mind, you can link up with my plug myco_logan1 on Instagram about how shrooms works on depression and anxiety.

As a person with depression, I have a couple issues with this: - While diet/supplements can help with depression slightly, that's not even close to being the bigger picture. Saying it'll "crush depression" is inaccurate af - I don't doubt that deficiencies can relate somewhat to depression, but there's far more to it than that. Things such as abuse/bullying/ect. are more commonly the cause for depression, and those require more than supplements to deal with - As for the "lower rates of depression" in places such as Japan, mental health issues are far less recognized as issues there, so ofc there's gonna be less diagnosed cases of depression there in comparison to other countries Jfc learn about what you're talking about before you tell people that just taking supplements can cure it

@ChronicGrails well as a woman who suffers from 'premenstrual depression' I am seeking advice that will help cure/minimise the effects of depression not more negative comments like yours going on about what doesn't work. Yes, we may need more than supplements but what else works?

Loved this video. However, I don’t eat fish, as I am vegetarian. You don’t need any fish or fish oil for omega 3s. It’s found abundantly in plant foods, eg: walnuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, tempeh, edamame, nori sheets etc. Loved all the other recommendations
