We need to talk about Arturs Silovs
#artursilovs #silovs #vancouvercanucks #nhl
I created this video to show that the Vancouver Canucks rookie goalie, Arturs Silovs has played amazing so far in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Despite Silovs playing only 9 NHL games going into the playoffs, he has stepped up big time for the Vancouver Canucks to give Demtko more time to recover from his injury. If Silovs leads the Canucks to a win in game 6, he could be the starting goalie for the Western Conference Finals.

Best part about this moment is the fact the Canucks can let Demko rehab without needing to answer a thousand questions about it.

Yes and without forcing him to return prematurely! Maybe silovs is really helping demkos and vancouvers situation by letting him FULLY heal before he returns. Love to see it

The coolest head. Literally.
Silovs really popped up on the radar after his Bronze medal win for Latvia. Dude can handle the pressure of an entire nation on his back so yeah. Stoked we got him!

Hints of Ken Dryden ? Only played 6 games in the regular season, right into the playoffs, and right to the Stanley Cup. I believe the only one to win the Con Smythe that year, and win rookie of the year, the next. I hope the young Vancouver goaltender continues to have a great playoffs.
If Demko is 100% for the conference final I say give him a shot if not there’s no point rushing him back

The '3rd string goalie' narrative didn't accurately reflect the situation. Canucks fans knew he was going to be something special for a while, we just had no idea it would be so soon.

Let siloves finish this series, but if demko is 100% by the wcf thrn play him

An underrated part about Silovs is he makes DeSmith expendable next year, just increasing the likelyhood we can resign Lindholm, Joshua, and Zadorov as UFAs

Goalies are bigger and better than they’ve ever been in the NHL! Gone are the days you’ll ever see a 5’5 Darren Pang or 5’6 Arturs Irbe prototype
Game 5 against Edmonton was the best the Canucks have played in this series, and possibly the entire playoffs. Absolutely no passengers last night. Even EP finally showed up.
@MaiettaSportsMedia

From the moment he took the net in these playoffs he had the swag of a HoF goalie.
And the nucks 2nd goalie was his opponent in the US - Latvia game
Silovs doing it for his country he has higher purpose behind him
He win bronze medal in world cup last year, what you expect
Šilovs 2023 world championship best player ...you now? Bronz medallist .Please one game win😉

I heard he’s an amazing goalie
Great but it would be nice to see him playing for Latvia again in WC
Fresh goalies looking fantastic in a playoff series is a common tale, but a good one nonetheless. The issue is that once there's enough game footage they can be picked apart and it can take time to adjust. That's fine in the regular season but can be awful in the later rounds of the playoffs. If Demko is healthy he will be back, but might as well enjoy the ride while we're here right?
Flash in the pan.
Nice problem to have.

Haha Vancouver’s goaltending is way better
I like the guy for the moment. But seriously the dude has ZERO pressure, there are low expectations for a third string goalie, he has the privilege of playing loose and carefree. The dude is having the time of his life! He is the DUDE! 😎 🤣
I feel like this is a bit of Karmic cash out from the Luongo/Schnieder fiasco.
Ride Silovs thru the playoffs imo...no reason to use Demko or DeSmith

If they keep winning, he should keep playing
New Jersey Devils, you better go after him when the Canucks season is over smh 35 about to be 36 year old Jake Allen has no business being our Starter just cause he played great for a few games at the end of the season for us and was way better then those other bums we need to trade or dump! Silovs, DeSmith, Markstrom, Saros or either of the Canadiens 3 goalies or fire Fitzgerald! Who should’ve been fired along with Lindy Ruff a couple months ago!
I said it before it started oilers we'll lose to goaltending i like the oilers but don't see them winning

If anything Demko is the guy to move. 2 years left and he’ll be due for a SERIOUS raise. Injury prone too. Demko would fetch an elite forward at minimum and probly more. Think Lehkonen from Colorado or a Bratt from New Jersey.
