Garrett seems like a really good friend and frankly excellent boyfriend material. He's always supportive of what Niki needs to feel comfortable, and doesn't seem to take things personally when they get in arguments. My guess is he grew up in a household full of women. Lol

While everyone else hates on her I think it’s perfect match for a series like this. Two different types of people living different living spaces. Garret being the more outing going one and niki being the more shy and secluded one. Having two of the same types of people it kind of gets boring. You already know how they’re going to react based on like three episodes. I personally think it’s great and the like show very much the way it is. Think about it Garret complained about the tree house no one said anything about it. The minute Nicki starts complaining about the RV people jump on her. They are two different people living different living situations OF COURSE THEY ARE GOING TO ACT CERTAIN WAY!!!!

I feel the same way. We all get grumpy, and I’m surprised that the two haven’t gotten really tense at each other till the rV because they are in a very inclose environment with each other. People aren’t gonna be 100% happy all the time, okay?

Not comparable at all. Garret didn't give Niki a hard time during the tree house episode, whereas Garret did all the work AND had to deal with a grumpy roommate in the RV episode. Garret's had been sweet and thoughtful so far, so why would anyone hate him?

    L. H. IIRC Garret vented in the video about doing all the work or made a joke about it, so whatever help Niki might have given, I think it's safe to say it wasn't enough. He just seems too kind to have made a big deal out of it. I know everyone has bad days, but it's also not surprising why some viewers thought she came across as ungrateful for being critical when he had done everything from cooking to driving and maintenance. That's just life, and I think showing their less charming sides offers us a very realistic dynamic.

Everyone hates on Niki but I literally identify with her so much!!! Being a true introvert means people don’t get you a lot of the time. You’re also more likely to shy away from things you don’t feel confident doing and shrink back into yourself if someone strongly wants to take the lead on something. It’s not that we are lazy or antisocial, we’re just most comfy on our own and like quiet time. Construction makes me think of all the ways I can hurt myself also. Lol

nah they built an area of London like this in the 60's and everybody hates it, everybody being normal people, architects on the other hand jizz over it. it's honestly depressing and soul destroying to live surrounded by concrete, the story in the link below shows how badly these type of places have aged in just a mere 40 years www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4447906/London-s-skyline-Tower-blocks-estates.html

Pale Milson Google it. It's an interesting idea. Passive heat, architecture that isn't a box etc. People just stay there for a short time to experience it and to continue adding on. It's by no means a finished community just a place of learning. The bells are beautiful. Paolo Solari is the one who started it. It isn't too far away from civilization. It's reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wrights Taliesin west.

They have a waste water collection pond down below the city. They recycle the grey water for the plants. I saw the pond on another video and wondered if it smelled. Eventually, they will use the decomposed sewage for the orchard and crops. If it wasn't so dry there, I was thinking that surrounding the pond with rose bushes or some other strong smelling flower/vines would help cover up the smell. In the old days of outhouses, the fancier houses would have roses or honeysuckle planted right next to it.

ladyrose1993 I live in Arizona too, and I have actually been there before. It's really cool! Definitely recommend checking it out. They also have a community in our town where they make and sell the bells. We have a small bell in our backyard and it looks and sounds beautiful, especially when it's windy.

It's so weird to me that people in the comments associates community with cults, i live on a small village on an island and there always was a sense of community, but in america it's considered weird and cult like to work to make the village grow and live with other people.

I think the reason is people think it’s weird that they’re paying but also have to work?

Mooshi 104 they don't have to work, it's just like everywhere else you have to work to pay rent but if you have enough money you don't need to work.

I think a lot of people just aren't used to the idea, a lot of things in the city just aren't community driven but corporately owned so say you want to have a well built shack that isn't just a plastic disaster you can buy from Walmart. You have to actually look up a number of companies online or in the phone book and they give you an inflated price on it plus payment for their time but in the Rez you can go to the community school center to see if any of the architect teachers are available. They bring out the students to your house and plan out the floor then you can get community money to buy the materials you want to use on your addition. The community gets money from donations, bake sells and nation feasts that you contribute to plus the casinos in the area lol. I think for this place the thing people are wondering is where the money comes from for the place which even for me I'm kind of like "it just can't be from selling bells." If so then hell I might have to pitch that to our own community center xD. It's odd but mainly because there isn't much information on how it all runs to function.

It's because of the reputation of small, isolated co-ops based on what's happened in the past. Unfortunately most of them, and certainly all the well-known ones, were cults that brainwashed, abused, coerced, and even killed members. Because of this is isn't surprising that Americans went there.
