We Got to Hunt for One of my Bucket List Agates! | Hunting for Beautiful Crowley Ridge Agates!
In this one, we make a stop on our return route from Florida to cross off one of my bucket list rocks: Crowley Ridge Agates! I absolutely adore Crowleys and have always wanted to find my own, so getting to stop and hunt for some was such an awesome experience, even if we did only have a few hours to stop. We ended up walking away with a gorgeous little pile of heavily banded agates, a handful of extremely well preserved Favosites, some banded chert, and even a few pieces of petrified wood! Alexis even found a huge geodized Crinoid calyx! It was a great day for sure, and I am so happy we got the opportunity to stop and cross off one of my bucket listers! I hope you all enjoy this one, and I will have another one out soon!

Sorry, I’m a mom so I have to suggest things: you should carry a small bucket at all times in your vehicle with the tools you use to collect - a spray bottle being the first item.

I actually do have my "travel box" in my car but I forgot to transfer it over to Alexis's car for the trip🤦 spray bottle, extra rock picks, chisels, bug spray, sun screen, hand sanitizer, a first aid kit, and paper towels, perfect for my trips but doesn't do much good when I forget it in the other car😂🤦

Another great video Theo, and thanks to Derek the rockmaster for giving you the location. 💜💜💜
Wind is my least favorite weather phenomenon, you both found such fantastic finds! Just the video I needed to start my day off right! 🙏💖
Agates!
Always makes it better when you find your own!
I think that should be a song, " "Alexis with the Crowley Eyes". Lots of beautiful stones and you found enough corsl to make your on reef. Thanks for sharing! 😷⚒

The corals were super exciting honestly! It's a good day when you find one on the Yellowstone, so it was so great to find so many in one spot! Thanks so much for watching!😄

@@TheoKellison I found a red and white corel in the blue forest. Will yu be stopping there this year?
OMG. Love that Cab. And the red outlier. The Crowley's are awesome.
Definitely a bucket lister here too! Great finds!
Wow, you weren't kidding, those are beautiful. Hey, Alexis is developing a sharp eye for finding these awesome agates! Good job. That cab polished up very nicely, very pretty. Hey, got my box of auction stuff, so very cool, and my grandson is going to love them. Glad you guys got a chance to go hunt Crowley Agates, they were worth the effort!
Oh wow that came out so nice. Damn look at the banding in that wow😮😮😮
Great finds so glad ya found some, next time your around these parts let me know and I'll take ya to the land of giant Crowleys
That was so enjoyable watching you two. Thank you 😊
Wow Alexis.
I would like to suggest vibratory tumbling. I rotary tumbled some bigger Crowleys, the quartz sections dissolved away like sugar - turning one big piece into a few small pieces.

That is a great suggestion! I was a little concerned about those quartz pockets 😅 I may hold out on doing any tumbling until I can get a hold of a vibratory, I would hate to mess up the few we have😂 thanks so much for watching!
I think that you should leave the small Crowley agates as they are. They are really pretty! ❤
Fun video. You and Alexis are always so cute together. I am very jealous of y'all's trip! Y'all hit a lot of amazing places. Florida being the best! Ok, ok, I am from central Florida, lol.

It's hard to beat Florida 😁 I never knew just how much incredible stuff is out there until Derek and I started hunting together, there's something amazing around every corner out there😂 thanks so much for watching!
Very pretty. Fun trip
Wow, those was special, nice findings.
I love Crowley Ridge agates. I have a friend down in Louisiana. He gave me some. I got down there and found a few 😊
Very cool finds! Love the fossils!
Wow❤they are so gorgeous😍 U 2 had a wonderful hunt❤️👋🇫🇮
Love crowley’s! They were the only agates I had found before coming to Montana. I really love those corals too. Nice hunt with great results!
Definitely gotta have some Crowleys. You two are great. Alexis's ring is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Nicely done! Thanks for sharing
Get a light table, Theo. Backlight!
I love Crowley Ridge agates! They are so beautiful and the bands are amazing! So glad you got to find some of your own.
You always have such wonderful rockhounding adventures! Alexis you are the bomb in hunting Crowleys! Love ya'all
your mystery stone is called Carnelian I believe
NICE!
I can find a lot of those here in Missouri
Your in Missouri
Crowleys ridge agates are the bomb !! Its pronounced crow-lee’s lol
Not sure where you went to find the crowleys ridge agates but I know it’s close to where I am from originally. Lol be safe and don’t take a wrong turn lol
These look like the agates Gravel bar hopper gets in Louisiana. They look like oysters
Why were all those Tires spread out all over the gravel bar?? Wish you had mentioned them & Why they were there.. The tires were great catch basins for gravel. did you look inside any of them?? Alexis does have "Crowley Vision"..Thanks for taking us along on the hunt..

It always annoys me to be out in nature and someone is just using it for a garbage dump.
Crowley ridge agates are cool 😎...is it a secret spot?
So it’s my theory that most of these were originally from southeast Missouri and were washed here 🤷🏻♂️ what do you think? Anyway let me know when you’re heading back through Missouri. I can show you creeks where these agates could also be called gravel. Yeah it’s everywhere!!!

There’s a creek at Haunted Ridge that they asked me not to promote because people were just hanging out but I’m sure you would be welcome

I've only found 2 pieces ever on the Yellowstone River near Billings. Maybe I need to go further east. Towards the old inland sea.

@@leslieprather2611 yes, this was on our return route during our road trip to Florida, there are definitely more corals in Montana the farther east you go though! Like in Billings I have maybe found a small handful over the years, but from Miles City onward, you will typically find one or two every hunt. There seems to be a lot more coral out there. I was just as excited about the corals as the agates in this one! We NEVER find this many corals in one day!
Where is Crowley Ridge!
Where are you at and why do they call them Crowley?
@ronyrockhound939

These rocks originate from Crowley Ridge, Arkansas; a 200 mile stretch of land, protruding upward, that used to be an island when the Gulf of Mexico extended up into Utah. The Ridge continues to rise by millimeters every year, pushing up new rocks to be eroded away on a regular basis. Amazing the variety, even found one exceeding 3 lbs. and is complete (no fractures or break offs). :)

@@TheoKellisondude I have several that are probably 2-10 pounds. I’m telling ya it’s the stuff from there that’s been tumbled in the creeks

Yeah that was kind of a culture shock for lack of a better word😅 you don't ever realize how clean the Yellowstone is until you hunt a new place, we are a lot more remote up north to be fair, but still

@@TheoKellison I live in Arkansas and it’s awful here.
Why is there so much garbage in/on that river?
honestly pretty mid tier at best. the brown and calf shit yellow just isn't very appealing. the corals tho, now those are nice.
I can't believe you didn't bring any of those tires back - that one bias ply was from the pre-Kennedean era!
@TheoKellison
7 күн бұрын
There were literally hundreds of them 😂 it was a bit odd, like on the Yellowstone you will occasionally see bricks and car parts, but I can honestly say rockhounding around hundreds of tires is definitely a first for me😂
Wow so much trash!
Theo, the first stone you cut one side had a effigy face and the other side had an effigy face looking down
