Dave has more respect in his little finger than other explorer's do. He isn't ransacking or destroying anything. He puts stuff back the way he finds it. If you feel like he takes things or destroys property then don't watch. I have never seen or heard anything that would make me think for one second that he takes things. I have supported this man and will continue doing so.

Yes me too, this explorer always shows respect to the stuff he finds. Love that he closes doors and drawers!

Sad feeling with this home because of the story you told with it. We as children with aging parents have to remember they gave their life raising us and when time changes around we need to give them the same respect and be there for them. The little baby crib was probably the one thier son slept in. Them still keeping it shows the love they had and their love of their son, memories of bringing him home and their new baby sleeping in it. Very beautiful carved furniture pieces.

@Heather Elliott Sorry that you had an abusive childhood. I know someone who also lived through an abusive childhood with adopted parents. I don't understand the thought process of those who adopt just to abuse. I lived a childhood of verbal abuse from my mother. They don't realize that tbe scars they leave never go away.

Mark get your ass in gear, us viewers love it when you & Dave go exploring together 🙏🏻🙏🏻💖. I really felt like crying especially when you went into Brenda's bedroom, I just couldn't stop thinking about how scared she was going through her final hours and clutching her Husband's photo, bless her. They must have loved each other so much, it's really sad to that their Son didn't bother staying in touch until after his Father had passed. The thing in the wooden box at 25:26 is called a metronome and it's used to keep time with the music. You were absolutely right they are napkin rings 😉. I´m hurting a lot with the whole concept. We have two kids, and we went both through hell until we found each other, she will start crying at the thought of losing me. The thought of what this lady went through, seeing the pictures, imagining her pain every single day, the feeling of helplessness she might have felt... We are trying really hard to makes sure our possible flat gets fixed and proper so that our kids do not need to worry later on, as it was left to itself, windows broken, etc, for decades on row. So I also fear, what if things are not left well done, ... Do my days show all the worries I carry for each one I love, I wonder And that dad and mom, left with all those worries and pain; just the thought is ...oh....

Your my favorite explorer to watch! A lot of the other ones are too quick when walking through and don’t actually explore these places and things. I love that you look inside of things and go in every room even if it isn’t that exciting! I’ve watched a couple of others and they spend their time staging the rooms to get “cool” photos or over edit the videos which takes away from the actual place, they bypass the “boring” rooms, and majority of the time they have no clue what anything is because they are too young. Your videos are very simplistic with editing, very appreciative/informative, and makes it truly feel like the viewer is there walking around with you! Just love the content! 🖤👏🏼👍🏼

I hope the son wins his battle to reclaim this house and all those memories 🙁

Jane Marsee So Jane- don’t you do it. But if you’re upset about this then maybe you shouldn’t watch the Urbexers. Dave and his colleagues are recording these places, hopefully before they’re vandalized by the “wrong kind” of explorers or demolished by nature or the wrecking ball. Yes, Dave and others put their explores on You Tube for our entertainment but this is also for posterity.

It always breaks my heart to hear of families like this split apart like this. So many lost years and memories. While the son is fighting the government for his family home it, and everything in it, is just going to ruin. 😪💔

That's exactly right Faye. I was a bit mad at my mum, but two weeks before she passed away, we talked and I told her I loved her. She was coming to see me in California, after Christmas. My brother went to visit her and he said she didn't feel very well. I told her to please go to the doctor. She died before she could go. My brother found her the next morning. It looked like she had a stroke.

I am in the US but find it amazing that all the bedrooms have sinks in them. It appears they may have been hoarders. So many antiques and so much neat artwork. It truly amazes me that stuff has not been stolen.

Haven't had a long video in awhile. I enjoyed this one. A proper cleaning and that home would be beautiful again. I would love to go around with a bottle of Murphy's oil and clean up all the wood. You don't find much wood furniture built out of real wood anymore. ❤xXxX!

It would need mold ameliorating which is a huge thing, everything would have to come out. Floors and ceilings, the roof redone. It would be a huge task, but likely worth it

If I had money for traveling, I'd explore some abandon houses and collect things that have been their for many years and give it out to the poor and some people overseas. I'd have to have permission to go in some places and gather things, but some things are still good like dishes, furniture, toys, clothing, cleaning supplies, etc. Some houses have been abandoned for 50 years or less.

That's what I was thinking! With the water running like that, I wouldn't have been able to help myself. I would have watered those plants :)

I can imagine what this home was like when it was an active and hopefully happy place. These were people of quite substantial means at one point as the art and furniture reflect that status. I sincerely hope that these beautiful pieces can be saved before the structure fails and destroys them. They're worthy of having another life in another home. Thanks for the tour into someone's incredible life.

One of the best houses you've done. Really enjoyed this. I can just imagine how it must've looked when the owners were living there and everything was kept up!

Dave you are doing an amazing thing by going in and documenting these finds. You respect the property and all items that come with in it and you bring a voice to these places and these people that may no longer have a voice. Its absolutely awful that it takes up to 8-10 years of probate in the UK before someone can access and take care of these properties. By the time a family member does have access to their loved ones house its almost disintegrated. When I was young, my great aunt was responsible for taking care of her parents home after they had passed away. My great aunt was elderly and lived over an hour away from her family home. Once a month my grandparents would pack us up in the old Jeep Cherokee, my dad would mow the lawn, my mom and grandma would dust and make sure my great aunt's family antiques and the house were in good repair. My cousin and I would sit in the back of the jeep drinking Capri sun and having a good ole picnic. It was the best time of our childhood. Sadly in the early 90's it became harder and harder for everyone to get out to the property. Even the farm owner who lived next to the property was having a challenging time keeping up the yard. A year before my great aunt passed away, we found out someone got into the house and stole all of the antique furniture, even my little child's portable potty that my grandmother made us use, was gone. My great aunt told the neighboring farmer that since the place was falling apart and everything was gone, he could go ahead and tear down the house and use it for farm land. To be completely honest Dave, I would give anything in the world to know that an Explorer like you had gone through my great aunt's house and captured pictures or video of what we had lost before things were stolen or became rotten. Having the documentation that you do would mean the world to anyone who otherwise wouldn't be able to get to their loved ones property before the earth took it over. Even if no one does lay claim to an abandoned property, you are still able to bring a story, a moment in time, to thousands of people when in most cases these places and the people who owned them would just disappear into nothingness. In a way, you and your friends are like urban anthropologists. Keep up the amazing work and stay safe.

What a wonderful find. This clearly was a family of means and the Lady of the house saw too it her family had not only comforts but also extras like the counterpanes and sterling napkin rings. Usually when we see these houses, we see coal fireplaces in many rooms. This time curiously, there were wash stands in the bedrooms. The best thing about the overall decor is the owners skipped the garish, mod '60's & '70's. The unit in the cubby at 23:00 ish mark was a Ham radio or maybe a ship-to-shore; although I didn't see any way to transmit. What really amazed me is after 6 years, the Geraniums were still growing without any care or water. I loved the intro, well played ;)

That funny feeling when you say 'look at this old vintage (insert item name)' and I had one and used it all the time ah! Makes you think will the iPad I'm sat watching this on one day be considered old an vintage? 🤔 Probably not, things aren't made like that anymore, but still it's a thought.

How beautiful, you stumbled on some amazing antiques, that when you realize are older and much more rare than one would first notice. love your passion for these places and thank you for the wonderful tour...

This is why it is so important to have a will so your children or family don’t have to fight the government for what legally belongs to your family. It’s so easy to finalize a will now with computers. You can make it legal. Thanks for the video. ❤️

The care and appreciation you show for the things and the homes you visit is overwhelming. It is as they were your loved ones and it is very touching. Thank you.

There are probably priceless painting in this house not to mention the furniture. I like that little carved wooden box on the floor in the sitting room. When you opened it you remarked how heavy the lid was and soon as you opened it I thought man that could have held a lot of gold way back in the day and been transported on a horse draw carriage or something. I love all antiques and going into a place like this would have sent me so far back in time I would have felt strange coming out into the modern world once again. Think positive everyone I know the son will get the home back but like you all say I wish he had access to just securing it from rot and decay. I also thought " Hey isn't anyone going to give those plants water, their screaming for it. Thanks my friend will be looking forward to all your videos.

some of the indoor plants are still partially green, this house hasn't been empty that long, or someone was watering the plants up until somewhat recently.

The home has a lot of condensation moisture also especially right near the windows, they are also plants that live on virtually very little water,. They may be just surviving on the condensation in the air.

I can to tell you how much I have enjoyed watching your videos. You love and respect for the homes, the content and the families always touches my heart. You always leave things as you find them and I love that as well. I get upset when you are in a home that vandals have trashed and destroyed. There is no reason for it but yet they still do it. Life is short. One of our karate Sensei's was killed in a fatal car accident, cause unknown. She had been with her high school sweetheart since she was 15, they were married for over 50 years. The only thing keeping Sensei going us his karate club he started with his wife. Very touching vid. Hope your knee heals soon. Thank you for bringing us content tho your injured

Watched your favourite mansion in France, ( no abandoned title.) Was brilliant. Hope your leg heals. You were amazing walking on it in great pain in that huge Fench mansion.

I disagree. If he did not make an effort to make peace, why should he inherit. Just because you gave birth to a child, does not give ownership to them. Forgiveness would have been a better idea, instead he ignored them until it was too late and so no, he does not deserve to inherit.

I love watching your finds . You are full of respect and compassion for the homes . Your empathy for the buildings and possessions really touched me . Infact you just expressed exactly what I think when I watch these videos. Thank you !!

Clicked the 'LIKE' button before even watching! :)...This was such a sad but sweet video, the music was such a good choice to accompany thie video too...a wholenlot of beautiful furniture in there and antiques, it saddens me that it has not been claimed by family but just left to rot, this couple had equisite taste in furniture and it wasn't cheap either! Betty loved her plants, when you were in the rooms with the plants, Betty's presence was with you, looking down at her once beautiful plants now left to mother nature, some did have new growth because she was willing them to survive, I could almost hear her whisper..."please can you give my plants some water, they need water"! Another great find, love to hear the bit of history attached, let’s your imagination follow a story. So sad that it’s all been left while the son fights a legal battle, surely someone could could have secured the house at least cleared the land around the house as it doesn’t seem to have been left that many years and it would have slowed down the growth. Clearly they thought like me as I don’t ( won’t) have a tv. I don’t understand why they always leave the beds made up, I’ve noticed on some explores some of the items appear staged and positioned in a certain way. But when someone passes in bed surely you’d get rid of all bedding ? Hope the leg is on the mend, love and healing to you and Holly 🙏🏻 P.s I miss the drone music at the start.

I don't (and won't) have a TV either!

I understand how interesting this is to everyone myself included ,but having a property in a similar condition from my husbands grandmother that cannot be touched due to having died intestate and probate not granted yet ,I would hate to think of a stranger going through her things before family being able to ,if you are going through please put things back as found

I have always appreciated the respectful way Dave explores, however, I have noticed he is becoming slightly more careless as time goes on so hopefully he'll work on that. But I appreciate what he does and he finds such awesome places. I would call this house 'homey'. Brenda really loved her pictures lol.

what do you do if your in an abandoned place thats been empty for say 20 years theres a loose floorboard you notice that under it there is a cash box with say fifty thousand pounds you going to walk away and leave it DONT THINK SO NO WAY

The instrument about 2/3 of the way through the video is called a melodian, a cross between an old pump organ and a piano, that was portable and lightweight enough to put into a wagon and be carried from one church 'brush arbor' tent meeting or revival, or from one musical gathering in a town hall or private home, to another. They aren't found that often anymore, and though they don't claim to have a high monetary value, they are an unusual musical instrument that was used by many a travelling evangelist...or a musician wanting to share music with others. The triangular wooden box on the mantel is called a metronome, which is also used by musicians to help keep an even tempo while playing upon any instrument. Thanks for the video, I love to see the furniture, antiques , and artwork....but especially the old musical instruments. I play piano and concert harp and have a vested interest in antiques, since I started collecting modestly priced smalls when I was just ten years of age. At 61, I am still collecting...and love watching your videos to see if I can spot a hidden treasure in the abandoned homes you explore. Keep up the interesting videography!

really enjoyed seeing this Dave. Thanks. Just a side note - I bought a terrace house next to an 'abandoned' house 5 years ago, thinking it would soon be bought up and made new by developers. The story was similar, family squabbles unresolved. Well, the pigeons got in, holes in the roof, dry rot - a real nightmare. We daren't walk past it for fear of tiles falling and the cries of the trapped birds were pitiful (rang RSPCA but nothing done). However (before the COVID pandemic) builders started - new roof, new windows and it looks like it's on the up and up. Keep up the good work Dave!

I live in Gallows Hill and I am long accustomed to occasional hauntings. I feel safest in our haunted home. Otherwise, I have no way of telling whether I am safe or unsafe with burglars and stalkers in my proximity. Our family workplace (shop) is haunted as well. In either haunted place, I feel safe when the atmosphere is still and serene, especially at dark hours after work. The atmosphere suddenly changes with intruders entering our place. I always feel something unsettling in atmosphere. Mild with familiar visitors, if they are nice people. Very blustery and stormy with dangerous people like burglars and stalkers. I always have one unseen spirit for a guardian: he is fiercely protective of me, when it comes to dangers around me. He always watches over me and keeps me safe from stalkers, rapists, murderers, etc. He accompanies me everywhere I go. After work, I daily walk home to Gallows Hill. I feel no fear of walking home alone in the dark, as long as my guardian is with me.

His passion for abandon houses, the way he speaks the respect he shows. His content & enthusiasm is enuff without ppl throwing books or slamming doors (not in this vid). He as a winning formula, if it ain't broke don't try to fix it. And let's be honest, some of them paranormal lads have been exposed of late. He don't need them.. imo.! Edit: And I believe in the paranormal.

What a wonderful time capsule with no damage (except nature & natural decay) or graffiti. The furniture is gorgeous, all the craved wood. Your new camera does a wonderful job, the picture quality is really nice! As with everything there are learning curves. You can tell you put blood, sweat and tears in your video's, from the start all the way through to the editing. Just a sad story about the family, that pride pill is sure hard to swallow. Always say your sorry, remember to except the apologies and always tell your friends and family you love them! My thoughts and prayers are with your sweet little cousin, Holly💜. And I can't wait to hopefully see more videos with you and Mark together exploring again. You guys are hilarious, two peas in a pod! As always, be safe out there.💜💜

Hard to believe that some of the plants are still green and thriving just from the sunlight. The thought of the ol' gal dying alone in her bed- clutching the picture of her true love is so sad. I hope the son gets nil. He's just fighting for the money all those antiques would bring. What is odd to me is that there is a sink in every bedroom. We don't see that in old American homes. Cool video..thanks, Dave! p.s. the triangular device on the mantel is a Metronome, used to keep time for music, and I believe the large metal thing you asked about is an old Hamm radio .

Such a sad story.. Son left and parents mourned for him.. Now he is trying to get their beautiful belongings :( Love your parents while you have them. There will come a time that it's too late. In one of the last photos there was a plate with a saying on it! " Prepare to meet thy God" this spoke so well of this home and family.. We all can take a lessen from that plate! Not sure if mother would have wanted son to inherit. Seems to me, she left him out of her will so he, as only child, fighting it. She was very bitter. I hope he gets it, but at same time, maybe he stole from them, abused them - we don't know why they fell out. Seems like he reached out when dad died, realized how stupid fights are and family most important. I don't know. She could have thought he just wanted money. We will never know.

Beautiful piece of history....lovely explore and a sad one. All the best to the family getting this place back to its glory.

Every bedroom has a sink? Odd, with indoor plumbing and a bathroom.

Here in Norway me and my mother used to rent a house on a farm. It was a sidehouse where servants used to stay waaaay back in the day. Every bedroom had a sink! they werent working but still standing and i always wished i could use the one in my bedroom lol that house was from 1900 something i think, so probably very common with houses that old.

So sad, sometimes things can't be helped, I can feel for the son, they should let him have what is left from their parents. My mom died and my dad was left and a women befriended him and used him and i tried to him and he turned against me, and I did have a sister need less to say I was labeled the bad one, I did get some stuff from the house from my mom's before my dad went bat shit crazy. Before he died I gave him some few pieces of clothes and new bedroom shoes with my daughter but I don't think he knew me, and he died less than a month later. I still have trouble with why he would choose a women even years younger than me over his own daughter and left him and won't come to see him almost two years before he died, so people never knows what goes own in other people's own 4 walls.

Another lovely video Dave. I love how much you respect these places. My dad still has his parents old projector but he says it doesn't work. And that computer bought back days of school doing IT lol. I'm egarly waiting for the new videos from the road trip, hope they're coming soon. I hope that the son can get this place sorted and emptied. Shame it's going to take about 10 years thou. The place will be completely rotted by then. Its such a shame.
