Favorite part of this"EPISODE" was you "MARLIN" explaining how persistence pays off & how the boat went from A sleepy tired Crew to an "EXPLOSIVE" fishing TEAM...ALL HANDS ON DECK.. READY FOR THE NEXT TAKE DOWN.. that explains the "ADDICTION"..one minute your questioning your selves,to making the right move and it pays off.. GOOD SHIT "ROB"..🍻. for staying positive and keeping HOPE ALIVE.. BROTHA 😁 😁 😁

I was at Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment in the early 80s. I fished in the ocean, 1 mile south of the mouth of the Columbia. We were offshore about 5 miles. My wife caught a 2 1/2' salmon. Mine was about 20". There is a rock pile in the same area we caught lingcod, red rock fish " Pacific, Red Snapper"

Sometimes a change up in tactics and presentation is all it takes to get Kings fired up. I don't fish from a boat, I only bank fish in the rivers or river mouths. But I've found that when the bite slows down or just stops completely, changing things up can really turn them back on again.

I caught a 68lb smoothie at Buoy 10 last week! Just before I caught that one I caught a 50 wild. But we killed 5 30lb chinooks. We were stuffing Spin Fish with Rotten Chicken Livers. They love it and it comes out of the bait at the perfect pace. But you have to let it rot at room temperature for about 5 days. It’s a little funky but it’s totally worth it to catch the monsters. It works with super baits too but I caught the 68 and the 50 on spin fish. You gotta make sure you keep the baits fresh though. After they’re down for more than 10 min or after you get done with a pass you need to refill em. The bait ain’t always gone but you gotta keep that rotten blood in there. All the ones that were big we caught within the first 2 minutes after dropping the baits down. We have yet to catch a big one after like 5 min of trolling the rotten livers. They want it bleeding. I think it’s something the big ones haven’t seen much. We were going through about 2 tubs of livers an hour. Hey, you guys should do a video on it. Like compare the Rotten livers the first day and then do regular livers the second day. It makes a huge difference if you let em rot. I started doing side by side experiments and it wasn’t even close. Anyway. Nice Video! Great fish. They ain’t 70lbs but they still nice.
