Fontana Outdoors I always cut the gills, then bleed them in the net. All the blood washes away and u don’t have a fat mess. Only worry would be seals, but, that’s never happened to me in my 30 years or fishing lol. Not say that it wont! Lol knocks on wood. I’m deff gunna try the way he cuts the gills tho to see if that helps get the blood out faster. But never bonk them first!!! Let that heart pump that blood out. We all learn from each other, it’s all good. Glad u agree with me tho.

Shoot shovel shut up. 3s's. They sale shirts in Montana and other western states that have this on it. We have to take care of our resources. If nobody else will, we should. Now. I'll say this. There'll be a great many of people that are going to disagree with me, and try and throw down on me, shame me whatever, and that's fine with me. So be it. Buzzards are protected in my state probably others too, this is hypothetically speaking, if I had buzzards picking eyeballs out on my newborn calves, or IF I seen one doing same to newborn any kind of animal wild or tame, I'm going to put a bullet in there asses. Luckily I've never had to do this. But IF situation arises where I need to, I will. Just like mountain lions. Vdgif says there's no mountain lions in our state, which is a bowl face lie. I've seen pictures on trail cameras, from one of my friends, and he is about 90 years old, and I honestly don't think he knows how or has means of doctoring those pics. Don't own cell phone. Or a computer. And the area he lives in and had cameras on have had many reports on sightings. I am a trapper, a fisherman, hunter too. And few years back I had 5 or 6 otter pelts and some bobcat pelts I needed tagged with cities tags from game wardens. Two came and met me at my papas house where our fur shed is. I had seen 2 different sets of tracks in 2 different places 25 or 30 miles apart from each other. 1 set in dirt on top of a mountain on a logging road. I've caught and seen Bobcats go over 35 pounds. And I definitely know how big a foot a big Tom has. These won't bobcat tracks. They damn sure won't house cat tracks. No lions escaped from the zoo. And I know for a fact they were mountain lion tracks. The other set of tracks was in the snow going across a fescue hayfield coming out of a thicket, and I followed them straight to a pasture with about 220 ewes in it. And guess what, there was signs of that cat killing a ewe , then dragging it through the snow, up and over a board fence into a holler with creek running thru middle of it. The cat cached what it didn't eat too. Scratched up grass leaves, sticks snow to cover the kill for those that don't know. I asked those wardens, if I was to catch a mountain lion in a coyote or bobcat set/trap and no they don't have teeth and no they don't break bones, I've put my own ha d into a Bridger 4 coil number 3 trap that is laminated with 1/4" round stock and is offset with lugs I weld onto trap myself, and my 4 fingers didn't even bruise much less break, didn't even cut or scratch my skin, just for those that don't know, anyway I asked if I caught a mountain lion, what should I do in that situation. They didn't say shoot it, or Haha Haha there not around here so you ain't gotta worry about it, or your crazy, or any of that!!! They said in a stern, way YOU CALL US IMMEDIATELY. now I never have caught a mountain lion. But if I did, I damn sure wouldnt be letting it go. They kill a tremendous amount of livestock each and every year. Costing farmers all across the country many thousands of dollars worth of money. Coyotes cause a little more because there so widespread and there populations are so abundant. Sometimes when the city folk bitch and moan and think they know what's best for our wildlife and complain enough to get certain laws passed, it lands on us to make it right. Just saying. If those birds cause as much damage as y'all claim they do, I'd be finding a way, or somebody that will help alleviate some of the damage. You don't have to get your hands dirty. There's ways you can handle it through courts, senate, congress, mayors, governors so and and so forth. And when the political system fails to do what's morally right, that's when it falls upon us to take matters into our own hands. If you don't wanna do it, find someone that will. Figure out a solution one way, or the OTHER. Our government fails us on many levels. I don't understand why we feel like we have to put up with it, or please them by obeying there immoral laws, rules and regulations. Kind of like the whole covid19 deal and masks, I ain't wore 1 but 3 times and that was to gobto my dr I have to go to because I have Chrohns disease. The other was to take my daughter to doctor. I didn't wear it up and over my nose or mouth either. But I had there identity stealing, power grabbing, poli8 agenda pushing FACE DIAPER ON. !!!!! In my state there's a mask MANDATE, not a mask LAW. BUT even if there was a law I would not abide by it. Nor would George Washington or Thomas Jefferson!!!!! "IF A LAW IS UNJUST A MAN IS NOT ONLY RIGHT TO DISOBEY IT, HE IS OBLIGATED TO DO SO.." Thomas Jefferson. Good luck with your problem. And God bless.

When you pack your fish you want to go meat to meat with the skin on the outside so the meat can't freezer burn over time. I put an entire side(cut in half and folded) into a large ziploc freezer bag(skin side out) then submerge the bag in a bucket of seawater and do up the seal. That will vacpac your fish like a charm. Large Glad Ziploc Freezer Bags work for sides from fish from 10 to 25 lbs.
