@@shibishimsi1722 It does literally mean uncle, but younger Africans will use it as a term of respect for older African men, the same way Indian people use the terms "uncle" and "aunty".

Malume everywhere in the southern part of Africa means uncle.
Come back home to Zambia 🇿🇲 with miss you 😢
Am from Malawi I feel you
The way he described South African police, mirrors Kenyan cops where I'm from down to a tee. So a couple of quick things, the police here in Kenya are described as a police SERVICE not a police FORCE. Therefore they are trained as a service within the community and not a entity enforcing discipline. So when people say Armed Forces many Kenyans will automatically think you are talking about the combat troops in the Army. Secondly, gun control is kinda strict, but you CAN get a gun and license if you do a course, pass the tests and get clearances from the police. Also traffic cops in Kenya don't carry guns so a traffic stop isn't really a tense affair. Also, it must be said Kenyan cops are vErY CoRruPt 👉🏿👈🏿 😅 which as an upside, makes one easier to "talk to" 🙃...in fact if I was to say to someone, "I have to go and 'talk' to a cop "the other person in the conversation will ask "...how much you think is it gonna cost?" It's also commonly known as "Buying a cup of Chai (tea)" Given all these factors and coupled with the fact that we are mostly the same race and can thus see the humanity in each other you can easily talk yourself out of a traffic violation or get away with a warning. Ps: love your content btw. God bless

Malume means uncle
This was a cool reaction😂
In Zambia, malume means uncle.
i can confidently say that the "police being police" comment is unique to the US in most parts. for western countries anyway. the reason? guns. large-scale gun ownership by civilians results in trigger-happy cops. places like australia, the UK and other similar western countries - police will often fight with people, as in a physical fight if the person they're dealing with initiates in. the fact guns are so uncommon in the community, means that they don't consider going to "lethal force" as an option like they do in the US. things progress quickly in the US and it also opens an even greater level of power imbalance and racism by police. the whole world knows the US is like that and most haven't experienced it in their own countries. also, that being said - a lot of other western countries don't need a reason to stop a vehicle - they can do it to check things like roadworthiness of vehicles, check you have a valid licence, random breath test for alcohol / drugs etc.
Malume means uncle.

I’ve never had a bad time with cops just don’t argue do what he says he won’t shoot you if you do what he wants and you won’t seem like a criminal if you do what he wants if you feel wronged settle it later in court instead of someone trigger happy with a bad attitude
