I have an all new respect for Dawn Staley. She's a class act. She apologized & took ownership for her teams faults & mistakes & never pointed fingers or played the blame game. She even apologized to women's basketball & still thinking about how to build women's basketball. Thank you Coach Staley with the new nickname boo. 😂 My granddaughter is a redshirt freshman at Texas A & M. I'm cheering for them but if they are knocked out... I'm pulling for South Carolina... Go get out it!!! And keep being a class act coach & teaching women athletes to follow into your footsteps.

Of course you are still bothered by that. You will never understand what she did was set a precedent for what she will and will not tolerate. It was more important for her to protect her majority black team than to appease unconcerned spectators, such as yourself. What happened today and how she handled it and is still handling it sets her far above many, she is great

Coach Staley epitomizes heart and compassion, with basketball ingrained in her very being, evident in every word she utters. Her respect for other teams and unwavering display of leadership are constants. She not only excels as a coach but also shines as an exceptional individual. If I were to have a daughter, I would wholeheartedly endorse her playing under Dawn's guidance, knowing she'd receive more than just basketball skills-she'd emerge with enhanced strength and courage as a woman.

@@iam4StLCardinals Actually, the evidence supports that many racial slurs were made by BYU fans. Thereby, creating a hostile and unsafe environment for Duke players and eliciting a statement and apology from the BYU athletic department. Although, it was too little too late. Coach Staley along with the SC Athletic Department absolutely made the right call. It’s her job to protect her students. As a parent, I wouldn’t want my daughter playing in that type of environment nor would I expect a coach to put her in that type of environment unnecessarily. If BYU doesn’t want their players to suffer, create a better environment. That’s on them. South Carolina is not obligated to play BYU unless they meet them in a tournament. If that happens, you can be sure that SC will win that matchup.

One thing that I think everyone needs to understand! Carmilia has been away from her family since she was 15 years Old! So, her "TEAM" is apart of her family! She is "NOT" a bad person, she just feels when there is a need to protect her Sister, she is going to do it! The "TEAM" is her family! The Team is the one who paid for her Mother and Sister to come to America, who she hasn't seen in YEARS! So, this team means a lot to her! Think about it; any of you! If you were away from your family for YEARS! And no matter how tall Camilia is, she is still a young adult, who has been away from her family for years now! You did notice that the young lady who Camilia pushed, who jumped over the table and came to her rescue? HER BROTHER! FAMILY! Family often wants to protect family, and that's what Carmilia was doing. Even though it was WRONG! I don't condone WRONG! But, I do understand why what happen happened that's all I am saying. You never want this to happen to take away from a great game, but sometimes it does happen at all levels of Sports. CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH TEAMS!

You ladies have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. What I observed was nothing less than exhibiting a level of courage, unity, and character that should be commended. What I saw was players working to come to the defense of their teammates. What I saw was two rivals unwilling to bow down. IMO, it was a thing of beauty to see. What’s disheartening, and coming from a man’s opinion is the women are held to a different standard. While women lift all those weights, run all those laps, and prepare at the same rate as men, it seems to be unacceptable for you to stand up for your teammates. I’m telling you, during the Bad Boy era it was expected to unite. Another observation is that in 2024, this era of women’s basketball is becoming a game changer. What I see is MUST SEE T.V. The level of play is incredibly high and the personalities are gravitationally welcoming.

Overall this has been the best season I've ever watched for Girl Ball. The talent level is through the roof. The SEC, ACC, Pac 12 and Big 10 have serious talent even among the unranked. Much success!!! .

Great win today ladies. Stay the course through the tournament and ramp up your killer instinct. You're gonna need it. I hate that the game ended the way it did. Coach Staley had a grounded, classy response to the whole situation unlike LSU's coach. Hate it for Cordoso. That was WAY out of character for her but she received the proper punishment. I just don't understand how LSU's player did not get at least a technical for pushing Watkins. And why did LSU get the ball afterward? The refs were pretty bad all week from the games I watched. But this takes the cake.

THE SCUFFLE WASNT EVEN THAT DEEP!… Guys do it all the time. So stop making it such a big deal. Dawn is being too gracious tbh; bc 1- LSU started it SPECIFICALLY with Cardozo… pulling hair, smacking and even punching her in the scuffle. 2- Mulkey KNEW her players were playing dirty. 3- this could have been avoided if the refs did a better job early on. Man… the difference between the two coaches are night and day! Glad F Johnson was able to apologize (bc she and HVL should’ve been ejected too), But 🫡🫡🫡 SC the right team won!

As a whole hearty SC born , raise still, that is families all over beautiful state, my hommies 23:34 regardless where has settle. Always b part of SC. Great games from two fantastic champions playing hard to win another championship. Know ugly things happen, forgive the teams because of competitiveness in them as winners, a former athlete playing hard all the time, even in big moments to win. It happen no matter what stage be on or level of competition. We are taught stay cool, calm much as can, Pray everyone move on and try best with great sportsmanship, that each one learn and do better attitude wise. Now both of the team get prepare for long run NCAA championship ball forward. Still marvelous game which built up to what a game it will be. Congrats 🎉🎉our Gamecocks and to LSU ladies congrats to all of you & loyal fans also played hard. Very good champions also from winning 2023 much love ❤️ to both of the teams. Now go, give all of us followers Gamecocks & Tigers fans great run to big dance now where each one in the field looking b crown national 🏆 My prayers, blessing not only to these two great institution of higher learning with tremendous athletes throughout their programs. All other ones in the tournament field representing each school , conferences be at your best playing , good sportsmanship, have fun, enjoy, may best team and program get to be crown champion. To me all of you who made it to big dance are champions some way. I felt that way when in college ourcteam made it all way to final 4🙏🙏😇❤️💯

I felt like the LSU player who started it should have been ejected along with Cardoso. I think removing the rest of the players from both benches was over kill because none really participated in any pushing or fighting. Hopefully only Cardoso will have to miss the first round. That is certainly justified. Kudos to Staley playing Fulwiley in the 4th quarter in the finals when she didn't in the semis when we collapsed. Fulwiley makes mistakes but she makes things happen and cannot be guarded.
