    If the gps thought it was a thru street, the cars would either crash at the end, or just get stuck. They wouldn't all turn around because they would think it goes all the way through!

    Scrapcrash2…wrong. The optical sensors realize there’s really No path so the car turns around. Or they’re being sent there specifically so they can turn around

    Lol they’re self driving cars, main difference is they use those bulky laser things called LIDAR on all corners instead of just cameras and radar like Tesla. there is currently people inside but they’re just training the system.

    There’s more street inside. When that Hospital was abandoned years back (used to be abandoned for decades) it open back but got closed again. we use to go after 2am to go inside when we was 19,20 We used the hear creepy sounds n shadows. Supposedly is haunted. We had stories from that place.

    Maybe they're testing the car's awareness of passing dead end signs, and how the car thinks critically on its own to find an appropriate place to turn around. And for some reason this street is like an ideal example of a dead-end street.

    I live on a dead end street in Mountain View and these cars used to stack up just like that. There would be two or three of them at time. They'd just sit there while the car figured out what to do. But if another car came alone (not a Google car) you'd see the person in the driver's seat take over and get out of the way. Then it just stopped on day. I see them in the neighborhood but they don't hit our street anymore.

    Maybe the Waymo vehicle thought it found a loophole in the traffic rules where it couldn't make a left, so it went straight and made a 3 point turn to turn around and make a right. And now it's programmed to reuse these instructions as its a shorter route.

    @@HoloScope AI isn't THAT much of a game changer. It can't increase the number of resources available to us or limit inequality. If anything, it'll just be used by the rich and powerful for borish market manipulations and company advertising to grow their pockets. It's not exciting, more of a boring dystopia.

    If you google it, it's NOT a dead-end. Simply not a thru-road for non-bike traffic. A street-view of it shows "do not enter, except for bike traffic". They're seeing how this AI handles weird not-quite-deadends. That or a project lead hates uppity bikers and this is one way to piss them off.

Same as you trade your hours for someone elses business and a paycheck, I bet on myself. So if that makes me entitled, then certainly that makes you a defeatist. Since we're throwing around labels. And let me clarify; I'm talking directly about me and you at this point. Not other people who work for companies they do not own or other self employed individuals.     Talk to folks in Mountain View. We saw all kinds of Waymo action five years ago when it was still called Google Car. Back then the cars were smaller and more rounded in shape. The UFO sound the lady described was a common thing to hear on the streets.

    The neighborhood literally did more research than the news station. Shows the state of the media. It’s sad cause the media has the pressure to get actual meaningful answers from companies that are more tight lipped to the general public. Given that the media failed to utilize their power, I’m glad the neighbors seem indifferent to the issue
