WATERCOLOR MIST IN TWO EASY STEPS FOR BEGINNERS/ BEGINNER WATERCOLOR LANDSCAPE AND TUTORIAL

Hello my friends,
In this video, I'll be showing you how I achieved two different styles of mist. The picture may look complicated, but trust me, you can do it. With a few different techniques using lifting, blending, and a paper towel, you'll be painting your own misty and foggy scenes in no time. I hope you find this video useful and inspiring.
Happy creating and take care,
Jackie

    I feel like every painting has an ugly phase at some point and I noticed that even pro artists have self doubt if they ruined a painting or not. Your art is very beautiful, inspiring and it awakens thought and presence in me. When I look at it, it always feels like I’m there wondering in that fog

    Thank you so much Irene for the lovely comment. I greatly appreciate it and often doubt my work more than I’d like to admit I am still working on loving my art like so many other artists are and hope to one day get to a place where I’m happy with 90% of what I paint. Thank you for the encouraging words.

    absolutely beautiful! I love your honesty that about feeling like you overworked that one area. It helped me to learn that I don't have to hate one of my paintings if I didn't achieve the look I wanted. I should just keep trying to turn it into something I like. I loved the finished pieces! Thank you for a great video

    Someone directed me to your KZread tutorials ... trees have been my go-to since childhood when I get to doodling ... picked up watercolors a year ago and took my first art.classes ... I love botanical and landscapes ... I love "mist" and trees and mountains in mist so you have been my go-to but so glad I've found your tutorials. I'm trying to loosen up my style ... I was one of those kids who needed to stay within the lines, and colored very "tightly" and perfectly ... but yet live in organized chaos. Thank you! You do beautiful work!

    I’m so happy they did, Sallie! And I’m so glad you’ve picked up watercolors! It’s such a strange and fun (and frustrating) medium. 🫣 I totally hear you on the needing to color in the lines. I still struggle with that today. I just want things to be a certain way. However, I’ve found that watercolor, as I’m sure you know by now, doesn’t let you do that; it has a mind of it’s own. And botanicals are so great. I don’t paint flowers, but adore leaves. What’s your favorite botanical to paint? Thank you for being here 🌲🌲🌲

    As a complete beginner with watercolors I really enjoy how you make this look easy and something I might be able to do, maybe not now but someday. I don't have any favorite subject to paint yet in watercolors, still learning basic techniques. Working in layers I understand from 42+ years of airbrushing, however watercolors are a different medium entirely for me. I am subbed...so much to learn!

    Thank you for the wonderful feedback. It’s funny how when we first start anything that others really do make it look so easy, and it almost seems impossible for us while we’re learning. I still feel this way about many areas of art, especially animals. Airbrushing! My husband just got into that. He paints models/figurines (he’s a Star Wars fan and loves those). Looks hard haha. And I’m so glad you want to stick around. Watercolor is my main medium for art, but I plan on sharing gouache, too. I think it’d be fun to share something new to me as well.

    Thank you so much! It totally makes sense to want to paint just like an artist you like. It can be quite helpful because you learn different techniques, but then eventually develop your own spin on things. I say study as many artists as you can. It’s one of the best ways to learn.

    Oh, Jackie, these are so inspiring! I love the top one best! It's so mysterious. My favorite thing to paint is botanicals, very detailed, pen and ink botanicals in stippling. Then washing them with watercolor, but I am learning to use watercolor only to do simple landscapes and have promised myself to do more of them this year. I'm so glad I found your channel. Your way of working is so encouraging. I don't care to do most animals, although I'm feeling drawn to doing birds. I have done a few small songbirds in ink and want to do more! I have done some animals in years past and may do some more but right now, I am loving these landscapes!

    Hello Jackie, I love your color and landscape, especially your picture arrangement. I am new and think it's difficult to do picture arrangements. Can you tell us a bit of it? Thank you!

  • @JackiePeacock

    @JackiePeacock

    9 ай бұрын

    Hmm that's a great question, Helene. If I'm being honest, most of my paintings come from my own imagination. However, I'm always on Pinterest looking at landscape photographers. I also tend to put up my own art on a wall so I can study it and be inspired what I've already created. I used to study a lot of other artists, but these days I find myself trying to look more within (if that makes sense). I hope that helps. But I'm always thinking from a landscape photographer's mindset since that's what my main form of art used to be.

  • @JackiePeacock

    @JackiePeacock

    9 ай бұрын

    Wanted to add to the photographer's mindset here... I'm thinking and imagining in terms of focal length when it comes to a scene. I'm thinking about a wide angle shot with sweeping scenes to a more narrow shot where a scene may be more fixed and close up.

    I’d have to rewatch the video as I’ve forgotten lol, but I love the sizes 2 and 4, so I may get them mixed up when talking since I use them both all the time. But if I used it in the description I’ll have to change that, so if you’re right then thank you for the correction :)
