Steenfott Aquatics are they' good for a fairly new person and could they live with a turtle or vampire crabs
Looks great, just add some springtails in the land portion and make it Bioactive.
I've watched this video a few times trying to learn how to build a good paludarium for my marbled newts. It sucks that the footage of the barrier build was lost because I think that's the hardest part. But after watching a few times and listening carefully to your recap of it, I feel like I know what to do! I'm so glad you made this video and I can't wait to put together my own setup!!
I really enjoyed watching this build. I love the end result too.

Great work. You should add fish.
It turned out great! Your favorite plant is a miniature palm. The skinks look like they like their new home. They are gorgeous

Looks really good, similar to what I did with my 90 gallon turning into a vivarium which also was a fish tank and is now the home for my amphibians. Interesting, water skinks are viviparous, mating in spring, and giving birth to live young in mid to late summer so no eggs like a garter snake, that's pretty neat. Love this video and what you did to the tank, also it's good seeing you getting back into things please keep more videos coming.
What beautiful lizards 🦎 and tank setup!!!
It turned out great Bob! I bet they are loving it!! 😊
The pics you sent me didn't do it justice. It's so lovely!! Skinks are looking good too :)

Put vampire crabs in there! If they won't start picking on the skinks, that would be cool
Looks great, dude
Awesome tank... how about little swimplants like duckweed. It would look super cool with their heads sticking out 😃
Wow these are such cool skinks and the set up is beautiful!
Thanks for sharing, Bob. It’s beautiful!
"Friggin sweet that's what it is" love it
Ruh Roh!! I think I see lizards in my future. You did an awesome job with this tank.

That turned out beautiful! A work of Art! They look so happy in there too. 🙂👍
Wow bob you done a great job for your first time
Interesting build! I enjoy the plants you chose. Those skinks will love that home! White clouds would be awesome in there! Long fins are my fave. 😍
That's an amazing setup man! super fun build!!!
Woooow gorgeous! I'll have to check out your next video to see how this setup is doing. If it's really that easy, I'm inspired to try my own!
Stick some of the hygrophilia you have in some of your other tanks, right in the back by the corner filter? The hygrophilia comes right up out of the water and looks amazing once it gets established!
Breath taking! WIsh I could build something just like that
Looks awesome man! Been wanting to setup something like this for a pair of Croc Skinks. Thank you for the ideas!
Wow Bob you knocked it out of the park on this paludarium build! Hopefully you get some more breeding activity from these guys! 👌😀

I hope so, they seem very happy and active
That’s gorgeous!! Making me really want to do something like that 😂
Fish will be a nice snack for those skinks.
Thank you so much I also have a Sulawesi water skink and been trying to get an idea on how to do his next Aquarium
Bob, it looks wonderful! Agree with the suggestion to add isopods and springtails...they work wonders in breaking down waste to create plant food.

I am planning to go that route. I was wanting to wait a bit before adding them. Not sure why... lol
Seriously badass paludarium. I respect it 💪
Oh wow that turned out pretty cool! ❤
Great job. Looking forward to that sneaky footage of them you were talking about in the livestream.
I need more details on how you built the the divider? Awesome job sir.
absolutely gorgeous! great video
Paludarium looks sweet!! The lizards are awesome too! You've got me wanting something similar. lol
Love it !
I just call them, "ariums" bc I have one of each and they all mean the same thing..lol...yours is AWESOME...I can't wait to see what plants you decide on for the water side
Looks good
That looks great bob!
Love this! Havent even heard of this skink species before! Awesome enclosure for awesome lizards!
Really badass Bob!
Looks dope

good job
looks good tfs
This video got me inspired to build a similar paludarium in the near future. I was always interested in building something where I can combine my 2 hobbies (vivariums + aquascaping). Thank you for putting an idea in my head :D P.S. I would definitely use some springtails in this setup as a clean up crew on the land area. I'm really interested what kind of water creatures you chose to populate the water section. I'm kinda sceptical with skinks + small fish.
That’s a dope paludarium
Awesome bob, copying this lol. I needed an idea for a new tank. Thanks lol
So sic Bob!
Been waiting for this one!
Nice job so fun to be creative:)

I recommend some moss for the wall it will do really well
I think some anubias growing out of the water would look bomb, as well as some buce and java fern... A carpet of something like parva, or dwarf sag would look well elsewhere IMO. (As for fish, CPD - celestial pearl danio's - would look great in there with some shrimp and snails!)
That is too cool.
You need about 20x more subs great video! btw I subbed

Looks good. For drainage in the land area you could drop a piece of 0.5" pvc pipe from the bottom glass to the top of the tank. Cut the portion in the drainage layer at an angle. Then get a toms aqua lifter with the filter attachment and put it on a timer resting on the lid. Thats how i did a 55 gallon terrarium before. The tempered bottom means you can't drill. You could hide the pipe in a cork round. I had mine foamed into the background, but you'd need to tear it apart to do that at this point. Or just a capped pvc pipe you can stick your python tube in. You don't want that drainage layer to hold too much water.
java moss will grow very well if planted along the land edge where it stays moist.
If they're out during the day you should get UVB lighting

Expand dongery doo reptisun 10.0 is good
you should DEFINITELY get a Malaysian Box Turtle hatchling for this tank.
Nice set up for these Love my "Bacon Skinks" My set up is huge , a 55 gal., full , with a 48w x 30d x 55 high custom cage / enclosure built on top A water dragon Green tree skink 2 musk turtles a fire skink (lives in the 10 gallon filled with dirt that hangs behind the 55) and the cabinet under is a re worked ethan allen coffee table 48w 30 d 18 h ( called a Map Table) took out the drawers , recessed 2 cement mixing tubs , made doors front and back a pond and rock garden ,,,,,,,,, 15 juvie garter snakes
U could get a canister filter that has better filtration, flow, and extended time of cleaning the water
I really like your tank and I am picky about things like this now I want one anubias is a excellent plant I just got some white marble anubias in the mail fish idea kuli loachs you would have lizards and fish that look like snakes/eels
You should get a nice Echinodorus for the water part and let it grow above water!
8:50 the one of the right (your favorite) is a neanthe bella palm, also called a parlor palm. Its a small kind of palm tree, so its gets big for a terrarium, nut if you trim it back it should be fine.

Hey, youre gonna need a dedicated UV bulb for your skinks, reptiles can develop serious health issues without adequate UV lighting
Hi it looks great and I have recently got water lizards and a giant fish tank and would love to try make the wall could I ask what foam was it and what silicone was it many thanks 🙏🏻 Mr KZread
I'm not an expert and I could be wrong but for what it's worth here's my take on the plants. The ferns at 7:41 look to me like Lemon Button Fern. At 8:50 #2 looks like Alocasia 'Tiny Dancers'to me. #3 appears to be a Calathea Orbifolia. #4 looks like a Lady Palm. #1 reminds me strongly of a baby Monstera of some type.
Where did you find this species for sale? Where did you find a guide?
Should've moved the branch over the water side but it's looking awesome ✌
did you put uvb lamps in or yust a heat lamp have you looked up if they need uva too or no
Nice build and if you leave the camera running and hide the flashing lights if there are any we could watch them play around.
Looks awesome Bob, any plans on adding some springtails or isopods to make it bioactive? Also on the water side it would be cool to see some plants grown immersed.
@SteenfottAquatics
5 жыл бұрын
I am researching bioactive now, i do hope to go that route =)
8:59 #2 is called tiny dancer
Incredible how much these 'waterskinks' look like armadillo lizards (Cordylus tropidosternum) , an East African species living in dry forested areas. Woopsie. Oh, by thé way, I think I missed something: how do you provide UVA and UVB with that kind of lid??
What light are you using ? I love your setup
Any way you could explain how you built the divider a little more?
Could you tell me everything I need to have a similar setup to your please and thank you
Java fern would be dope too
I want to do something like this one day. Have no Idea what I’d keep on the land side though...
@SteenfottAquatics
5 жыл бұрын
So many possibilities :)
8:55 1 some type of Alocasia 2 Alocasia tiny dancer 4 parlor palm
On the water side do an Anubius nuna
Could anyone tell me from experience if you can do a similar set up , skinks in a paulidarium with fish ? My thoughts on wht I would do is skinks , African butterfly fish , and Congo tetras or some other schoal . 75 gallon tank 3/4 full water
