I was terrified of her when I was 10. I swear I saw her face when I closed my eyes.I ended up staying up the whole night😂

The realization that Red isn't telling a story to scare the others, but instead a story of tragedy is heartbreaking

I love this movie! I can’t watch the final fight without crying though. That poor little girl that got her life stolen, whose trachea was probably broken and left surrounded by mad people who spoke a different language. Died in the place she hated. Where she was terrified and had to eat raw rabbit to live. The monster left her there in the dark. Alone.

it's an actual violent crime.. this was next level acting... and then they turned around and did it to the queen angela bassett too!?!?!?

Jordan Peele said that the theme of the film is Americans and how they treat/perceive immigrants. Which actually makes a lot of sense considering the nuanced title of the movie and the bit where Red says, "We're Americans" when Adaliede asks them who they are. Also, the fact that the clones or "shadows" look and act exactly like their upper-world selves is a perfect metaphor for how immigrants are more like us than we think and that they just want better lives for themselves just like we all do. And if you really think about it, who's the villain here? The people who live above them with all the commodities and luxuries they want, or their "shadows" who are forced to live miserable lives, eating rabbits raw and bloody?

I don’t think the boy was switched, I think he acted oddly because he’s half tethered half human. The sister is older so she probably grew out of some of her weirder tendencies.

Listen to "Down In The Park", from Tubeway Army (the phrase "kill by number", is not veiled at all), and realize, that Gary Numan was reading stuff like "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?", by Philip K. Dick, which is what "Blade Runner" is based on. The song, "Are Friends Electric", set the tone, for decades of synth and industrial music. I would be surprised, if Jordan Peele didn't get something from those songs, or "Cars", or "We Are Glass". I'd love to ask him.

The "mom" that was originally a doppelganger realized at the end she had killed herself at the end. When they drove away the "mom" looked at her son and smirked just like she had when she stole the real moms life . The boy had a mask and put it on and thats what gives them the connection and he know thats not his mom.

Yes kids are scary. Scarier than Jason, Freddie, Chucky, like they're on a whole 'nother level of creepy 🥲💀

The five on it remix is so good and so chilling. Jordan is such a great horror director. Also the son definitely knows, he knows Adelaide is Red

All 4 kids probably have half a soul since Red has a real soul and Adelaide has none at all, just a cool thought

The boy couldn't be switched, cause his doppelganger was burnt so at least we know that. I think he figured out smth was wrong, but not exactly what happened.

This movie scared me so bad the first time I watched it. Like I'm a grown person and I had nightmares for WEEKS. Great commentary by the way!!!

I heard a theory that the son was a tethered too and was switched when he was very young. This is why the "tethered" mother didn't really intended for the tethered son to kill the boy and just told them to go play, and why Addy tried to save the tethered son before he went into the fire

i got lost at an amusement park when i was really young and was so scared...luckily i knew to get help from a worker and not a random person😂i was too curious about all the lights and sounds and got lost

18:43 there yo fryin pan is Lakia! also, this movie is about the American dream at its base, i used to think it was about black people but it wasn't. basically the tethered wanted to know what it was like to be above ground with their copies. and yea the boy does know that's not his mom that's why he stared at her like that, then she smirked because she was the original tether to switch out her copy and now she started an uprising worldwide. I want a part 2 so BAD but you know how Mr. Peele is... anyways loved this video, definitely love this movie cuz it's just different from other movies.

Yup. That's why she couldn't talk as a child and she didn't have any rhythm. On the other hand, Red mom was the only one of the Tethered that could talk. It also explains the entire premise around the uprising, because why would they uprise if they didn't know what was above?

I was told the remix of the song is quite literally a tethered version of the actual song from 10 years ago which is bonkers where one of them is dope and catchy but the other one is unhinged and horrific

Jordan makes brilliant movies. I’m excited for the next one and I love seeing black main leads. It’s refreshing.

Fact: the girl that was in the mirror maze and the woman in the red suit they whistled because they were scared the reason why is that her dad told her to whistle when she was scared

I remember watching this movie, it was a little creepy, they had to defend themselves against deadly adversaries and to make it worse, they had the same faces as them...

I remember seeing this in San Francisco. I was looking for something to do while my mom was doing Lyft so I went to see a movie, Us looked interesting, so I bought a ticket and saw it. When I left the theater I was confused by the ending.

Down the coast from San Francisco, is where this was shot. Santa Cruz. That boardwalk had a taffy pull machine in a candy store, the last time I was there, several decades ago. I don't recall the hall of mirrors. Maybe?

3:00 heavy on this I got “lost” in target and had an emotional break down all awhile my mom in the next aisle not even worrying abt me

YES! That voice made me squirm more than anything else in this movie. I literally recoiled when I first heard it in the theater.

I think the adults in the underground wouldn’t let her, she was a child and she would not be able to fight them off, as the adults above the ground interacted with her doppelganger the underground ones interacted with her, so she couldn’t just leave and as she grew into adulthood she realized the others were innocent and tortured and she started hatching her plan

The original Adelaide was the villain of the story I'd you think about. The tethered version of her just wanted revenge. I loved this movie

I never seen this movie but when I think the title Us. I think that we are our worse own enemies, our worst versions of ourselves the shadows trying to be us and kill us take over instead, sometimes the greatest threat isn't always other people but Us. it's a very interesting movie horror/ thriller psychological , I was afraid to watch it alone so I prefer seeing someone react to it instead to be less scary I guess.
