Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome to ‪@AutoScholarwithMrB‬
In this video, we'll show you how to replace spark plugs on a Lexus CT200h. This is a simple procedure that can be done in just a few minutes, and it will help your car run smoother and more efficiently!
If your Lexus CT200h is running a little bit rougher than usual, it might be time to replace the spark plugs. This video will show you how to do it in just a few minutes, and your car will run smoother as a result! So don't wait any longer, watch this video and get your car running smoothly again!
Spark plugs need to be changed every 120,000 miles. My car is also running much smoother than before, as the ones I took our were very worn.
I used OEM Dealer plugs, but here are the links for ones on Amazon if you decide to order them there. I recommend Denss or NGK plugs. These links are affiliate links, and the channel gets commission if ordered from these links. Thanks for your support!
Denso plugs: amzn.to/3L1H3JR
NGK plugs: amzn.to/3HbbXhQ
Note: Thanks to pgreenx in the comments for informing me on the use of anti seize on NGK spark plugs! According to NGK's website, anti seize is not needed for their plugs and they advise against using it. If you are using NGK, skip the step for the use of anti seize. If you are using another plug manufacturer, check with their website if anti seize is recommended. Occasionally I get stuff wrong, and this is one of those times.

I read on a Lexus shop manual somewhere not to use anti seize. The plugs have a coating on them. Also the old 120k plus seem to come out easy without any factory anti seize. What do you think

I’ve used anti seize for 25 years, and also in every Prius/CT I’ve ever done, never had an issue. As far as factory recommendation, I’ve never seen it mentioned pro or con.

@@AutoScholarwithMrB this direct off NGK website. I assume it’s the same for all high quality plugs. Not saying your wrong. Just trying to do the right thing 5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT SPARK PLUGS 1. Anti-seize NGK spark plugs feature trivalent plating. This silver or chrome-colored finish on the threads is designed to provide corrosion resistance against moisture and chemicals. The coating also acts as a release agent during spark plug removal. NGK spark plugs are installed at the factory dry, without lubrication or anti-seize. Anti-seize can act as a lubricant, altering torque values up to 20 percent, increasing the risk of spark plug thread breakage and/or metal shell stretch. Thread breakage can sometimes involve removing the cylinder head for repair. Metal shell stretch changes the heat rating of the spark plug and can result in serious engine damage caused by pre-ignition. Do not use anti-seize or lubricant on NGK spark plugs. It is completely unnecessary and can be detrimental.

What size socket extension did you use from the 2nd plug onward? I only have a 6inch extension and want to confirm if that will work. Update: a 6 inch extension was the right size

Do you know why gas mileage would go down on one of these? I’m getting about 330 miles on a full tank. But a while ago it was over 400. Thanks.

Could be your air filter might be dirty. Clean it if you can or replace with genuine. Check your tyre pressure. I own a CT and I run 42psi front and 40 rear. Rides a little harsher but definitely notice better rolling resistance.

I’m having the same issue, I did the math after completely filling the tank when it was on empty. And I found out I was getting about 350 miles on a full tank. After you replaced your spark plugs did your gas mileage increase?

I thought cylinder number one is the first one on your right? The closest one to the driver? I believe in the video you installed the left one first and you mentioned that it was cylinder number one. Please clarify? Thank you.

is it safe to unplug each ignition coil one by one while the engine is running to see which one is bad?

  • @AutoScholarwithMrB

    @AutoScholarwithMrB

I would not try that. You can swap the coils and see with a scan tool of the misfire moves by either a code setting or the misfire counter showing a different cylinder. Hope this helps!

My MPG is 35, but my mileage is only 14000 (ct200h 2014). Oils are changed regularly. Do you know what might be the cause of my high MPG? Thanks. Since you said that spark plugs only need to be replaced every 120000 miles, I guess the cause of my high MPG lies elsewhere.
