The security guard was there to collect from the garage and to hand it to the guy who seemed to be in a hurry.

Notice how calm the other people are. Just another day in South Africa.

its because of G4S's cost cutting initiatives, that not only puts the lives of the cash custodians at risk but also those of the community, at SBV services, a custodian is flanked by about 4 armed guards who are on the look out for situations like these, but G4S continues to send a driver and just 1 custodian with no back up, even after being targeted by criminals so much. its a shame that the executives sitting behind big desks and high walls are not the ones experiencing this trauma, sies G4S

The guard should not have had to open his own door. He simply had too many moving parts to deal with. He had to observe his surrounding, open the door, deal with not being able to hold his gun in the other hand, and deal with whatever that piece of paper was. His partner let him down or sold him our a la "inside job".

What he did in this situation, coming out with cash in bag, when he saw the man approaching him with his gun drawn, the worst thing to do is draw your gun too, he would have been shot dead on the spot and avoid altercation, especially for low sum of cash.
